K&N cold air, 160* stat, magnaflow hi-flow cat, flowmaster exhaust, LSD, one-piece aluminum drive shaft, and a dyno tune. 224 was higher than what i expected as well, but the guy at the dyno told me that my car was designed to be a chick car lol, meaning it had extremely restrictive exhaust and intake to try and make it quiet. So when i added some of these mods, it had a dramatic effect on the car.
Ok for a 4 cylinder, youre car is good. And i dont troll honda owners either lol. Me and my muscle car buddies think these vtec/ricer videos are hilarious. I'ver never ran my car on the track, but its exactly 224 hp at the crank. Im just saying, V8>4cylinder vtec

The technology behind VTEC is absolutely genius, and is a much smarter solution than adding cylinders and increasing bore size. A 4 cylinder can sound awesome if you know what your doing. But if you like V8's that's fine, I'm not telling you that's wrong. And I own neither a Honda nor a V8, I drive a V6.
@TheKoreanX yeah but there is still no replacement for displacement. sure you can get 200,300 hp out of the silly 4 cylinders, however you do not have any low end torque or more hp. you have to rev the hell out of 4 bangers to get the power you need. that equals a short-lived car
@TheKoreanX you just increase your top end with that stuff. you cant increase both low and high end torque unless u get more displacement, period. by forcing air into your engine faster USING your engine to do that, you are essentially transferring your low end power to your high end. it bogs down your low end..
@TheKoreanX well it's not that simple you see. i'm sure you don't always have super close gear ratios, and you cant always operate at the perfect rpm. that's why low end power is also important. also off any starting line, you need low end power. i'm sure you have driven your car hard, and then sudden you hear it bog out with no power (maybe you were burning out or something). that's where the displacement needed comes in.

Let's not forget that VTEC technology does not make a car a ricer. Variable timing/air intake is something that has been copied by many companies since Honda started using it in the early 90's.
Also, VTEC is not just used on "economy" cars, superbikes also use the technology.

@TheKoreanX well it's not that simple you see. i'm sure you don't always have super close gear ratios, and you cant always operate at the perfect rpm. that's why low end power is also important. also off any starting line, you need low end power. i'm sure you have driven your car hard, and then sudden you hear it bog out with no power (maybe you were burning out or something). that's where the displacement needed comes in.

@swss12 If low end power was such a necessity then nobody would be racing Civics or other 4 cylinder cars. There are plenty of 12 second Civics that don't have this "low end torque" that is supposedly so important.

Let's not forget that VTEC technology does not make a car a ricer. Variable timing/air intake is something that has been copied by many companies since Honda started using it in the early 90's.
Also, VTEC is not just used on "economy" cars, superbikes also use the technology.
