Ok.......I got like a B on that thing.....I just pulled a 97 on my bios exam, got one later on tongight.....Then, i have the beast on wednesday....organic chem comprehensive over the whole year......um, last quarter, I got a D on my final to solidfy a B dropping from an A-, this quarter, I have a b- going into the final, same prof.....I am thinking I might be repeating this class. His finals are a gaurenteed D if you bring your A game. With a miracle, maybe I can get an 80% on this thing.
Good stuff! I personally found it challenging but managed to get by. When you get to university, you will see the level of the material changes quite dramatically. Perhaps you have an aptitude for this sort of stuff. I had an aptitude for physics and became an engineer. I wish you well in your future studies.
I never Bs'd so much on an exam in my life...I'll have more on that later.....for now, I must get to sleep, as I spent 18 hours straight in preparation for that nightmare.
thing is it seems....Its not that this material is hard, the sheer amount of material and memorization expected, is really about my limit....My classes, I have no problem preparing for exams in 1 or 2 nights. with org chem, 2 nights is almost not enough for me to handle all this information. Definately one of the hardest classes in my list of requirements
what makes this tough, I dont know how it is with other prof's and schools....Mine is obsessed with "retro synthetic analysis".....giving us a product, and having us work synthesis and mechanisms backwards.....its hard enough as it is forwards...sheesh
Mine as well. In a panic, I started memorizing products, but this fizzled easily. The mechanisms are everything in this course and is the underlying objective for organic chemistry as well as nomenclature. Lots of memorization anyways... Painful... but you're ultimately better for it. Or so they say...
holllllllly shit.....I got my exam in exactly 8 hours from now.....150 problems from text book are fair game, and I have an unrealistic amount of mechanisms and synthesis that must be memorized. I am almost there, I have 7 and a half hours to brush up on what I, at a time today, memorized. wish me luck guys, im gonna need it. aldols, carboxylic acids, polymerzation......christ....If I can have descent brain function 8 hours from now, i will be alright. been at this for 48 hours nearly now
Hang in there! If you know how to predict the reaction products and are able to explain most of the reaction mechanisms you will be fine. It's part memory work, but mostly practice. Distinguishing between reactions can also be a challenge.Read through the whole exam, select the easy problems first and get your points there.Short answer and multiple choice next, and then the remaining two or three problems you found hard.Leave half an hour to re-read the exam starting with short answer.GOOD LUCK!
It sounds like I had a completely different test than you, they were all multiple choice but were still hard as all hell. I think my lab grade pulled me through this course though.
Improper punctuation/grammar in your post stupid.I got me into the top percentiles of pre-med courses *while* defending my Master's thesis in engineering.YOU couldn't do that. You're probably high or stupid, so I won't ask you about publications,or if you have any medical schools offering you positions,or engineering professorships being offered. You suck:period. Now try to type some more drivel so I can laugh some more.I blame your parents for poor upbringing. They suck too.Hahahaha.You're so lame.
Ahh the final... Well, it was no walk in the park, but I survived - barely. Where I thought I'd do great on the short answer & multiple choice, I did "not-so-fantastic". Surprisingly, the long problems, I did very well... almost flawless. I thought it was going to be the reverse, but I guess I learned something about OC after all. In the end, I got a B- for the course. Given I was completing my Master's thesis and taking another course at the same time, I'm proud of the grade...
How was the mind-dump?When I do one of those-it generally means things were intense, and there is a mental outhouse strong enough to hold my mind crap nearby.Did you fare well in your exam? Please say yes...(awaiting hopefully).
The hair loss could have something to do with some of the lab chemicals, or the not-so-welcomed aging process. My alternate theory is that tiny aliens extract DNA in the form of hair from my head at night. My hypothesis includes a mass cloning of your's truly for the purposes of taking over American Idol through which control of the blue planet is ultimately possible. What the hell-who am I kidding?I am loosing my hair because I pulled it out.Ultimately,I'm going for the Pei Mei look (Kill Bill2).
pulled a B overall in the class.

darkies aren't usually good in chem so a b- is something to "b" proud of.

I feel your pain. I have my final for orgo in five hours. I'm going to take a big mind dump once this exam's through.
