Please,let's learn the OFFSIDE RLUE:FIFA Rule 11!At the time the ball was kicked into the Uruguayan goal area,the players were not in offside positions!
First of all, there was no offside for the first header.. Although there were two players offside there, the ball actually passed to that guy who was not offside. the second pass was not an offside also since the striker is on the same line with the defender and the goalkeeper. And, the offside lines are all in the wrong places..
Therefore, Suarez's red card is a correct decision.
If you freeze the video at 4 seconds, you will see when the ball is played the two players are onside, Then at 38 seconds, you will see that it is a very tight call, with them being quite possibly onside. Then the shot is taken with the clear handball, so he must be sent off.
Secondly, this video has been watched thousands of times, and by those that have made comments, several, but the match officials only see it once and make that decision there and then.

2: This is NOT a heading pass. The goalie deflects the ball with his right hand. So the next Ghanian player to kick the ball is not offside. Also, even if it were a header, offsides would be judged based on the positions at 0:37 plus a few frames (you froze the vid too early) not 0:42.

Right, as we can se at 0:32 the two players who you accuse beeing in a offsideposition, well, they are, but the DO NOT take parts in the situation and they DO NOT disturbe the keeper.
The player who actually got the ball is in right position, ONSIDE. But he does actually pass the ball later to an offside player. But one thing, the yellow-drawn line at 0:38 is placed wrong, to high up! It should be placed on the other side of the Uruguayplayer, almost on the keeper cause the are always in line.

this video is is stupid, offsides count if players move forward before the ball was kicked in the air ,and become ahead of the defense or what ever line, the ghana players moved after the ball was in the air, this is very clear, at the second half of the video you only show half the scene,and concealed the moment the ball was kicked., to me ghana deserved this goal and i would kick suariz and count a goal for ghana if i was the refre

1: Initial header from the free kick - 2 players offside. Though neither initially touches the ball, they did interfere with the play.
2: This is NOT a heading pass. The goalie deflects the ball with his right hand. So the next Ghanian player to kick the ball is not offside. Also, even if it were a header, offsides would be judged based on the positions at 0:37 plus a few frames (you froze the vid too early) not 0:42.
3: Obvious handball, we know the rest...

As for the other "offsides" they don't count because the players weren't passed too while they were behind the defenders.

@nanaforiod Offside is judged by the 2nd closest defender to the goal line, which in MOST cases is a defender, but in that case is the goalie. However, 0:42 isn't even the right time to freeze the video and judge offside positions as that is not when contact with the ball is made, so none of that matters.

The line judge (assumingly) didn't pop his flag up, so the referee couldn't have known there was any offside at all. Therefore all he had to go on was oh... look... Suarez just swatted the ball away from the goal, DOGSO by handling the ball, red card, PK. More like the assistant referee's fault, then Suarez for actually hitting the ball with his hand, as a combo.

@jjmarz1001 Not really... A teams ability to win a game is not necessarily judged by it's individual faults/weaknesses or strengths: In the end it comes down to who can get the ball to the back of the net. The team of these two which could clearly have pulled this off was Ghana.
Though it was clear that the team had not trained in penalty taking as much as Uruguay had (especially when you consider that even their "go to guy" missed the decisive response penalty by a hair off the cross bar).

The two players that were "offside" made no contact with the ball while ahead of at least 2 opponents.. and the player that headed what should've been the winning goal was not offside sooo..? Besides, it was a free kick being taken and not regular play, all the players ran up at the same time.. ain't our fault Africans have more speed & agility *shrug*

There are two pkayers offside when the first ball is played but they have not interference with play until about the third phase of play, by which time they are onside. The offside rule only comes into effect if the player offside touches the ball or the ball is intentionally passed towards him or it rebounds off the keeper and he was in an offside position...by the time the shot was taken, they were just online by the looks of things, and it doesn't matter anyway that is the worst thing you can do to a country that deserved to win

But as the referee had not seen the (big) offside, he sanctioned the handball. After I saw the big mistakes of the players from Ghana and they were really hard.

You are ignoring something major here: No matter whether it was an offsides or not (these things are almost impossible to judge on the field very accurately and even in the slow motion I'm not 100 percent sure that it was offsides) Surez knock the ball out trying to prevent a goal. That is a handball and a red card worthy one at that.

2) @0:08 There was a player in blue shirt who are parallel with 3 red shirt players. Could be offside but hard to distinguish. Arguably.

@Jimipedia at 0:11 same answer than prior post..and to be honest...all of this started with a non existing foul...where a ghanian player dived deliberately and the referee ..gave it to him.. It was "strange"...no replay of the dive was shown... however I have the full game recorded...and I could even give u the a link to downloaded if you have any doubts. Long story short.. Suarez was punished due a referee mistake.
