Bigger isn't always better. That is what I like about Bose. Creating the ultimate live feeling with speakers that won't take much space. Everyone of my friends were astonished about the quality of my old bose 205 speakers. Specs are unimportant. It is about how it sounds. And that is what Bose does best, sound through research.
1) this set up is Stereo? Stereo (one Compact Speaker is Left and another one is Right speaker) or MONO (both compact speakers' output is the same)?
2) You've mentioned about the 'reverb' (in earlier comment) compare to System1. The 'reverb' you've mentioned is it acceptable under this circumstance? (because from the VDO couldn't hear much echo at all) I wonder whether using just one Compact Speaker will create less reverb?
Thanks for the comments. We use the traditional set up you're talking about in the 80s and 90s. Now a days to use that kind of set up gives you a terrible back pain. And besides most halls in this country has sound monitoring sensor that you cannot exceed certain decibels so sad isn't? But that's the law! With bose L1 the sound is loud and with dispersion of 180 it doesn't hit that sensor! Good advantage.
@geralddonn0909 Justification is what your about, most people who have them sell it with in 6 months to a year because they sound good at firstr but try to crank them to mid volume they start sounding like garbage. Lot of people lose a ton of money on the resale of those, some just hold on to them because of the price they paid for them. I know you trying to be business smart by starting your sentence with " Thanks for your comments". you think a Bride might be reading.
Everyone is entitled with their own opinion. I'm not selling mine and I'm not telling you to sell yours and buy one. I'm happy with what i get with these system until now. And even though I sell these items now, I already got the money back already
With the l1 compact you can use the tonematch but not necessary needed. I use it with my l1 with two bass bins at least. Compact is only for light and small gigs. Share to me your experience when you get yours.
L1 compact is really designed for that. I'm not a Bose dealer or something. See your options as well what suits your budget. If you'll ask me I'll go for l1 model 1 or 2 with 1 bass bin. With model 1 you dont need tonematch as it has mixer already, but with model 2 you definitely needs a small mixer as it has only one input. At least if you are planning for upgrade in the future just add bass bins. Have you looked at qsc k series as well? It's brilliant.
Hi geraldonn, I use two keyboards with auto-accompanamient which produce a full band sound Bass, drums, and backing keyboard fills. I also sing. Currently I am performing at retirement homes to crowds of no more than 100 and in one case a really small living room sized location. I use one 450 watt powered speaker, which is too much and heavy. How does the small speaker w/o the extentions sound? Do you think I can do with just the bottom piece for smaller rooms and w/ext for larger rooms?
I would suggest that you get the Bose l1 model 1 or 2 with the type of functions you do you'll be needing only one bass bins. And still possible upgrade for another one in the future.
There are a lot of possible ways. One way is just normal left and right output from the source to make your L1 stereo. Another way is stereo output to left L1 then there is stereo output at the back going to the right L1. Thanks for looking hope this help.
Great looking for sure. Excellent design. Most speakers should have this design. An 8,10,12,15 or 18 w/ a matching column of mid/highs. No tri-pods. No oversized needless full rangers on top.
I think bose is very over rated but this system doesen't sound to bad. add maybe a 15" or maybe even a 18" powerd sub to the system tucked away under the table and your sound would be dramatically improved
Yes you can. If you prefer more bass and if the type of music you play requires more bass then you can do that! i tried it with two powered 15" bass bins and its fantastic!
My camcorder is rubbish! doesn't give justice to the systems. lol! Try to do a video with a traditional speaker systems or even go to a concert with full system and massive speakers and lets see what will comes out in the video if you can hear the BASS... lol
that's the whole point of a line array. it basically removes the need for seperate speakers for different frequencies, except maybe the lower bass frequencies.
Thanks for the comment. We said the same thing before i've heard it and i'm not impress with it! .... but it comes up buying a pair all my intention was just to see and hear it.
ha ha ha its better to have 2 L1c in stereo before i only have 1 L1c then after a month i decided to buy another one. and im happy now and contented/ let me know if you have new video
it's a good buy. try it on stereo both sides its wicked. Stereo output of mixer connect to left bose compact then output of left bose compact connect to right bose compact. Its too loud and double the volume of mono output only. tried it as well with powered sub tapco sw10, it's good combination as well.
I want to punch that kid lol

what a nice set up you have. I have 2 questions.
1) this set up is Stereo? Stereo (one Compact Speaker is Left and another one is Right speaker) or MONO (both compact speakers' output is the same)?

The L1 Model 1 creates much less reverb it room like this than the L1 Compact. Just a side note---

Throw a couple of powered subs under them and you will get an actual thump. I have the compact and it needs more low end. I use a yorkville nx200s..

This would be good, if you used it along with your regular speaker system, say two 15" tops and 2-18 subs.

@geralddonn0909 - THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO.
I will, definitely, get back with you...once I get my system. I am, most likely, going with the bare bones start up version. what do you think?
It would be just me and my guitar...plus my laptop playing the backup tracks at coffee shops
