to make it white you can make another layer and put in just the regular white generated item. you would also have to change the exposure slightly of the film itself to make it blend a little better...
what i said below...make a new layer, go over to media generators and select solid color, white. Then drag it into the new laver. make sure it is below the layer with your film. so instead of black in the blank spaces it will be white. if you got any more questions just let me know!
ok now i know what to do... Alright make the fade, like you normally would on the end or the beginning of the clip, then go over to the transitions tab and select dissolve on the left column then drag that over to the faded area of your clip. If you want it to stay white in the background then drag the sloid white gradient into a new layer below your clip. I hope that helps out a little...
Wouldn't using "Insert > Video Envelopes > Track Fade To Colour", and setting points on the envelope to be no fade colour/fade black on the points where you wanted it to go black, be much easier than multiple splitting and deleting?
This method works, but an easier method would be to enable automation on the video track, and hit the mute/unmute button on the video track header, thus automating the "flash" or on/off of the video.
Additionally, once the clip has been ungrouped, it can be re-grouped (locking audio and video back together) by selecting both audio and video, and hitting the G key.
Actually there are many ways to flash. One way is to add media generator solids. You can easily lower the opacity there to make ur flashes easier and it comes in variety of colors or you can customize it and choose w/e color you want.
ugh hate the backfround music

Yes, but it looks really sloppy. It goes white to black, not white to whitish gray, to gray, etc. and so forth
JustDubsnet 3 years ago
so you don't want it quite as flashy and epileptic is that what your asking?
Deegher 3 years ago
Well, I want a faded flash sort of I guess? Kind of likethe one in WMM
JustDubsnet 3 years ago
so kind of like a fade to white?

Make another video layer on top and use Insert Empty Media in the places you want the flash. You can change it to whatever color you want.
