ONE OF MY VERY FAVOURITE OF ALL THE SONGS OF ELVIS,THIS PROVES WHAT A GREAT GREAT BLUES SINGER HE WAS, PLUS ONE OF THE BEST SAX SOLOS BY BOOTS RANDOPH
MISS HIM SO MUCH ONLY 53 BIT STILL LOVE HIM MY WEDDING SONG WAS LOVE ME TENDER WAS AT SALT FLATS IN UTAH WHEN HE DIED CRYED LIKE A BABY!!!GREAT VOICE AND SOOOOOO SEXY!!!
In the old radio documentary "History of Rock & Roll" (ca 1969) Fats Domino said he never paid much attention to Elis records until he heard this one. Great song, but, of course, no comparison to Lowell Fulson's. Also worthy of note on the LP is Elvis' decent rendition of the Four Fellows "Soldier Boy".
God has given us a gift of perfection....which will be passed on from generation to generation. Our love for Elvis is forever and we his fans have a strong bond.
God gave the world a gift of perfection.....which will always be passed on from generation to generation....our love for Elvis is forever and we his fans have a strong bond.
Muddy Water was right when he said "That boy made his pull from the blues, if he’s stopped, he’s stopped, but he made his pull from there”
But even earlier influences were country and gospel & even rockabilly. Each genre infused deep into his soul from a very early age...the blues likely stared filtering in around the age of 12 when he moved to Memphis. Living in a primarily black area he'd go listen to blues singers at a time when it wasn't acceptable for white kids to listen to "black" music.
@bobvocal Elvis was inducted into The Blues Hall of Fame. This titles him a "master artist" in the Blues genre. FYI, he is only many in history inducted into 5 Genre Halls of Fame(a "master artist" in 5 genres) Rock,Country,Blues,Gospel,Rockabilly
“Elvis is the greatest Blues singer in the world today”-Joe Cocker
"And he loved the blues. It was a pity he didn't do more" -B.B. King
"That boy made his pull from the blues, if he’s stopped, he’s stopped, but he made his pull from there”-Muddy Waters
When are they going to make a "Theatrical Film" about Elvis. Like they have with Bobby Darin, Ray Charles, Patsy Cline, Buddy Holly just to metion a few. I find it unbelieveable they haven yet. they are even planning a movie about the life of kurt Cobain. Elvis influenced all of the above. I would cast Robert Patterson as the "Young Elvis" because he has a similar look and would introduce Elvis to so many younger people.
Never heard this one before. But that's the great thing about being an EP fan, there's so much material. Wish the same could be said about Patsy Cline. Hardly sounds like him! Thanks so much for posting!
Thank you Jackie. What a wonderful dirt dirty blues this is! :)
The young King's voice here : as bold as brass:) How he dares to brazen out -"Well THE WAY that I will miss you.. I guess you'll never know"- But we all know exactly WHAT kind of way he means:) And the offer at the end-"Why don't you reconsider baby"- sounds pretty much more like a veiled threat:)) His voice in this song: so overbearingly arrogant, sassy and soo sexy! Perfectly judged. Just adorable. Precisely the King. Even with 25
thank you for your response. Since i was 8 years old and first saw a picture of Elvis, i thought he was the most good looking man i had ever seen and his singing just blew me away. 42 years later i still feel the same.
i wish i was born at his time, i wouldnt care if i was old and wrinkly now, it would be good enough for me to just see him in person one time! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!
i dont care if other people think hes not great. To me he is, hes the best looking man i've ever seen. His voice was sooo incredible he makes me get chills everytime i hear his voice, even when he's just talking he sounds beautiful I LOVE YOU SWEETHEART!
A truely outstanding bluesy performance by Elvis, showing how he can sing 'all kinds', my father, who died last year, was bowled over by this song not only with Elvis's vocals but the musicians, particularly Boots Randolph on saxophone, which my dad used to play in a band in the 50's and also the clarinet, i took my dad's comments as a real compliment, as he knew what he was talking about.
un tema de blues,de su primer album despues de la mili, realmente impresionante, por su calidad musical e interpretativa.el saxofonista BOOTH RANDOLPH,es antologico. un 10.
Written by Lowell Fulson. Elvis recorded it April 4, 1960 at RCAs Nashville Studios. It is available on Elvis is Back, Reconsider Baby, A Touch of Platinum, Platinum: A Life in Music, From Nashville to Memphis-The Essential 60s Masters, and Artist of the Century, which is where this version is from.
I've always loved this blues song a whole lot and Elvis easily has the very best renditions of it. Elvis will definitely always be the one and only King of music. This video was absolutely magical in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
How sexy can one man be. This is so wonderful. 5 stars

such a crime that the world never gave Elvis credit for being one of the best singers of a blues song , shows his southern roots in music
