1996 accord manifold MAP PID flatline 29"hg with engine idling CL ,should their be a decrease in inches hg with the engine running or is that normal for some cars?engine stalls when map disconnected .
Does a bad MAP sensor cause bogging/jerking during acceleration on a manual tranmission car? I have a 98 accord lx 5 speed and it is bogging/jerking. My CEL(Check engine light) is on for high/low voltage for MAP sensor.
@JFIdelH Disconnect the MAP and run the vehicle that way. With MAP disconnected slowly goose throttle. You'd have poor performance, but it'll determine if MAP's the issue.
Another test is to disconnect EGR valve vacuum hose. If the EGR valve test solves your problem post back for the solution. Keep posting....
but still, in my comment above, my second question was what you think that other sensor could be? its not in the hanes manual for my truck. and thanks for responding.
@bikr1975 No problem, you're not bugging me. Keep posting until you've solved your issue. I meant, post a video response, if you can do it. I need to see the sensor and others can benefit from our discussion... Good luck...
hi, i have a 94 ford explorer with zero MAP sensor!!! i heard for the year of my vehicle, it didnt come with one. is this true??.....cause for the life of me, i cant seem to find one. there is however, some kind of sensor mounted inside the engine compartment between the passenger side headlight and the radiator. it has 8 - 9 wire connector. no vaccuum hose leading to it. is this a remote MAP sensor for the actual sensor somewhere on the engine?? please help :)
@bikr1975 If it doesn't have a MAP then it has a MAF sensor. In that year there were no dual sensor vehicles. So, if it had a MAF it had no MAP. Newer vehicles may have both. The Extra MAP is used to check for EGR operation. Thanks for posting...

@ADPTraining Is the EGR valve vacuum the one next to the fuel rail/under the wires?
JFIdelH 6 months ago
@JFIdelH Do a Google on it.... It's connected to a round valve...

@ADPTraining So are you telling to to disconnect the electrical clip for the EGR?
