When is Dan Spitz going to be hailed as one of the greatest metal lead guitarists? His playing style and sound are original, memorable and instantly recognizable, every solo he did once heard cannot be forgotten. The man is every bit as good as his more celebrated peers, perhaps even better in some cases. For me losing him was as bad, if not worse, than losing Joey. As for Scott's rhythm playing, he is IMHO the best, especially during this period.

@fuzzleredmenn, I totally agree with you, as a metal guitar player i really admire Dan Spitz guitar work. In my book, Dan Spitz is a great guitar player and is one of my favs.

@fuzzleredmenn He's so underrated it's a shame. Dan's solos are really quirky and very unique. You don't hear any other lead guitarist in metal write solos like that. But they're still compositions and not just "show off spots".I've also found his solos to be one of the hardest to play correctly. And yeah, Scott and Dan are probably one of, if not the best guitar duo ever in metal.

@trypticon101 I'm primarily a rhythm player so I've not learned any of Dans solos' but if they are as tough to master correctly as Scott's parts I can see where you are coming from. Anthrax I think are a band you can learn so much from as a player and a songwriter.
