Saw Keb Mo live for the first time a couple months ago. Better than any show I've seen. He's easily the equal of Santana and Stevie. The albums are great; don't get me wrong. But live ... Wow.

This is one of those guys like delbert mcclinton who will never get the recognition he deserves. musicians think he's a god and i guess as long as you can make a decent living, thats probably better than being really famous anyway. he's one of my favorite song writers along with having an amazing combination of a unique vocal style and great musicianship. i love every song he's recorded. but not someone you want to listen to before you gotta get up and play lol

No, you misunderstand me. I was just implying that I'm no drummer, and therefore might not notice bad tones from said instrument(s).

I play guitar, and would be able to spot trebly and harsh tones and mixing from miles away.

i don't think the balance is that off. I think what sounds off, is the bassist is overplaying, mixed with the fact that Keb is comping the licks during the verse instead of the chords, which really makes the song sound thin in comparison to the recorded version. He really needs to hire a rhythm guitarist. But really the bassist is killing me on this cut. The orchestration of the parts are off, not the mix!!!!
