  • God dam!!!

  • i like how he makes it clear at the end of the description that its his opinion.

  • How much does it cost to fix or replace a turbo? I'm thinking about buying an 02 impreza wrx and just getting an idea about the reliability of these cars.

  • Psh, I bet it ran great, thats just a tiny bit of play!

  • Got a little shaft play, do ya? Christ

  • @SRT480HP there is absolutly no shaft play what so ever hahaa

  • @MinusLULZ I called the my Subaru dealer, and right now I'm not covered under any warranty from Subaru. The only warranty that covers the turbo is the powertrain warranty that lasts up until 60,000 miles, which I hear from other Legacy owners that is useless when you have to replace your turbo since they make you pay for half of the cost out of pocket. So I'm trying to get a warranty that will cover me at least to 100,000 miles when the turbo does quit on me. So you said you rebuild turbos?

  • @MinusLULZ I have the same turbo in my Legacy GT, and I'm approaching 65,000 miles. And I'm debating whether to change the turbo out, or just let the warranty take care of a inevitable failure of the VF40? Any advice would be appreciated.

  • This is a KNOWN issue with new subarus. There is a technical service bulletin saying to remove that filter to the turbo because it will clog up even with proper maintenance. By the looks of things this is a TD04 off a 08 wrx. I upgraded my turbo to a vf52 and removed the filter to prevent this from happening to me.

  • what was that bolt and the rubber thingy in the beggining? what is that called? cause i don't have that rubber thing. maybe that's why my turbo is pushing too much oil.............what is it call please?

  • thats fine just slap that back on to a honda civic and race some ricers

  • so how should i maintain the turbo on my wrx???

  • @crash60068 get a turbo timer...its easy to install and saves it a lot

  • @crash60068 change your oil every 5000kms. turbos cook oil quickly. Turbo timers can help for lazy people. You dont really need them. Just dont thrash it if you know you will be turning it off in the next 10 mins. For example, if your driving home, drive normally & dont boost so you dont need to idle cool it when you get home. Other then that, maybe take it to a turbo expert every 50 000 km's for a checkup.
