hey im adam makubuya, im a ugandan musician living in california sanfrancisco and i like what your doing man,. keep it up and i wanna make some tracks wit u.
terra, I want this song. It used to be on your myspace page and I had it on my voiceail for awhile. I like it. now I've been looking around for like long long time and can't find it
I really like this, I really do. Your style and theirs goes together quite well.
And to any negative comments on here, please try to wrap your tiny brain around the fact that there are actually sincere people on this planet. Yes, I KNOW! That's craaazy!
From the bits I hear, the structure of the song seems a bit obvious for hip-hop, but Terra Naomi's gifted chorus adds an otherwordly quality to it. The Bataka Squad should consider themselves lucky to have gotten her now before she blows up.
I really want this song when it comes out! Please, please, please let us know when it's available! I honestly can't stand the people who post negative comments on here. I don't see the point of it. They can shove it and go elsewhere.
HAHAHAHAHAAAA "It's just the real deal. IT'S THE REAL SHIT" LMAO. There's nothing real about it, but I will agree that it's shit. Then she's singing in Ugandan - a language she doesn't even know. Hahahaha. They probably have her singing stuff like "I love black dick. Fuck me in the ass" and tell her it says something else. They're probably goofing on her lol.
I showed this video to a couple of my friends and we all had a good time laughing at it and making fun of it. Spoiled liberal white girl trying to do "hip hop" with wannabe American thug rappers with Ugandan accents! This is a recipe for a comedy skit if ever I've seen one. So funny. I swear this has to be a joke I'm waiting for Dave Chappelle to pop into the scene. Sorry for not taking this video seriously, but I just can't, it's too comical.
I saw Bataka squad on Youtube, then saw Terra Naomi, and now...I want to cry. As a proud Ugandan, I have to say that I truly look up to both the squad and Terra now, and I'm glad that they're bringing attention to the talent and beauty of our country.
umm... "recreant456" are you laughing because you don't agree that "kids look up to musicians?" cause i would have to back her up and say that they, a vast percentage "DO"
Terra, this is so cool! Way to go. You sound beautiful and I am impressed that you have chosen to help out in this way. I can't wait to hear the final version. Will you post it to your myspace page?
Seems as though we are only talking between each other so what does it matter? That lady is most likely out getting a buzz off what money she has earned off the one CD she sold to me and other idiots like me. Refund not wanted it is a good CD I like it but just don't like what's coming up. Terra my dear young lady, get back on track. Like she will even take the time to read this.
I feel sorry for you Life is full of change and great experiences You will go through your life and experience nothing you are an extremly boring individual entitled to his opinion but your an angry boring indivual so sad
Terra, this is super cool to see/hear you do. It's different and it seems like they are trying to get out an important message out for awareness for some things going on in Uganda. I have worked with hip hop and it was more the cliche, the songs sounded great but they were just telling fun stories which is why I went on to record on my own, but this is important and even more special cause your voice is on it.:)
Yeah, technical difficulties. Can't your production crew get their act together and compress your videos so they RUN! This is annoying as hell in a music piece.
it's not even rap... it makes me sad to see people that are so stupid and not able to think beyond their nose... (lol sorry for that, i'm french, i'm quite sure this doesn't make sense in english xD)
I don't personally care for hip hop, but this is a great message. And good for you for branching out as an artist, though I probably wouldn't buy an album with only this sound. God bless.
I bet a lot of the hip hop artist don't even like the crap. They know it sells so they crank it out. Like a lot of drug pushers, they don't care for the product but it brings in money. She will find her niche. I thought she had already found it but maybe CD sales are not what she expected.
Wow you guys are stupid, your probably thinking its just any rap song or w/e but you guys don't even know the lyrics. Neither do I but I'm sure you all don't know it either but dont make fun of a song If you dont understand it.
Rap is crap is the truest rhyme I have ever heard or read. The kind of people that like the sort of music you have been doing and is on the CD I bought Don't like that crap. You want to continue being popular and selling CDs, you need to get away from that stuff. You going to turn out to be yet another youtube fake? I see crack ho's walk up and down my street every night don't need to go on youtube to see em. They sell CDs too, ones they steal out of cars and folks houses.
A fascinating glimpse behind the scenes of music production, with a twist: social responsibility. You didn't invent that, of course, but I'm very pleased that it's such a large part of your musical ambition. And cross-overs can produce the most amazing results. Looking forward to hearing the track!
I'm seeing many new sides of you that I didn't know existed. I think that it is great that you're travelling to Africa and engaging more in social awareness since that is one of the main reasons I like all of your music in the first place. Go! Be well and keep churning out classical music on the World Stage Level.
I personally HATE popular hiphop. but this video showed me not all hiphop sucks. I like this style. Thanks Terra for showing us.
And the kid comment on how we (as in I'm a kid) listen to music and stick to what it says, as in your songs! and many others. Many different meanings in many different types of songs and your hiphop may also teach me something greatly new.
Yeah, I had my doubts at first too, but then watched the vid, and it seems like some good things are happening with this style and the way they are presenting it.
I agree that music is a universal language. It has the ability to communicate with the soul whether one completely understands the words or not. Props to all who were involved producing this latest episode.
That was fantastic, Terra. I love it, as always. I'm off to myspace to listen to the song, it's in my head already! And hey, don't overwork yourself with all the stuff you're doing.
Singing in Ugandan: supercool. And you are definitely right about the ability of music to change peoples' perspectives politically. It brought to mind the music of Peter Gabriel, whose songs Biko and Wallflower from the second and third albums made a significant impact on the way my thinking develop about the political world. Still timely, given the essentially pro-torture bill Bush just signed...
Terra, you must come to Mexico you will be a super star here, you will have million of fans. You do not have to sing in Spanish, we will adore your music!!!
wow, this is great, it sounds cool, most really be hard to learn the language. and this video looks professional, good work, and i've got already this song stuck in my head
