  • But still, will nobody notice that those scientists are missing?

  • Comment removed

  • So you mean to tell me those scientists made no noise at all as they fell haha XD! Nitpicky but still a great film =)

  • i want his "cat" :L

  • @MrThenextthing Genetically modified lynx

  • Ozymandias, an Egyptian God-Pharaoh killing off his Freemasons once they are of no more use.

    Joined a lodge lately?

  • @VBearProductions It says in both the film and the book that he invests a lot of time and money into genetic engineering, which is even present during his experiments with Dr Manhattan. The dog thing is a biologically-engineered horned tiger called Bubastis :P Animals like it often appear as undead gods in Egyptian belifs, so it adds to his Egyptian persona. Hope that helped :)

  • @TheMoffattMusic wrong. it's a genetically altered lynx.

  • too all the people arguing, its the director if anything who made him act it in the way he did. so calm down. enjoy the film.

can i ask tho to any comic book geeks, what the hell was his tiger dog thing?

  • @VBearProductions it is a genetically altered lynx, in the comic ending a giant alien-like octupus destroyed new york bubastis (the lynx) was written in to forshadow the ending in the movie it serves no real purpose

  • He sure does waste a lot of people.

  • @EdibleGentleman I wish.

  • Watchmen should have been at least three movies it would have been comic fans Harry poter or Lord of the ring....

  • @RogueWatcher4 It should have been a 12 part miniseries with each episode based on one of its chapters.

  • If you really want to know, here is Goode's stupid reasoning. Here it is:

"He [Goode] had his own interpretation of Veidt's backstory...[he] suggested Veidt disguised his German accent to highlight the themes of the American Dream and the difference between one's public and private personas."

Of course, if Good had even bothered to read the comic he'd know that Veidt was American born and bred and never had an accent to begin with.

  • Adrian Goode DID NOT play Ozymandias well at all. Adrien is supposed to come off as more charming, and personable. Not even to mention that Viedt NEVER spoke in a German accent because he was born in the U.S. What a stupid interpretation of such a great character.

  • @ramonalejandrosuare Matthew Goode played a charming personable man on the very edge of arrogant sociopathy. His slips into a German cadence were only used in scenes of diress or in interactions with pets ( aka Dan). He did a splendid job and made extrapolations not imposed by the comic.

  • @tiemedown If a horrible German accent unsupported by the source material is what you mean by "extrapolations not imposed by the comic" then I agree.

  • @ramonalejandrosuare Ozzy traveled the friggin' world and was raised until he was 17 by his parents... I accept whatever voice he's got. It's not bashing me over the head.

  • @GaminexPro So, I see. I too can have a bad accent if 1.) I travel the world and/or 2.) have immigrant parents even though I was born and raised in the USA. Wow. As someone from what would be called an "immigrant family" I can tell you that argument number 2 is rubbish while argument 1 makes less than zero sense.

  • @ramonalejandrosuare He know numerous languages. That's the point of argument 1. Knowing a lot of languages can have that "accent" effect. Argument 2 is just a thought, since I know that immigrant parents know little english and tend to speak their native languages at home. Their kids usually end up with a very minor accent.

Again, I dunno why your getting your panties in a bunch over his voice, the accent isn't even that heavy or unbearable.

  • @GaminexPro

So a bad German accent is possible if 1.) a person knows many languages and 2.) immigrant parents speak their native language? In the case of 1, I'd ask why he doesn't speak in a French, Chinese, etc. accent since all it takes is knowledge of another language to have a bad accent. In the case of 2, you only explain why immigrants have accents not why a person born and raised in the U.S would have a distinguished European accent.

  • @ramonalejandrosuare Really now... I've given you four different reasons as to why he can speak with an accent if he so much as pleases. He's Ozzymanfuckindias, he can speak however he wants in whatever way he feels. He's smart and G like that. His accent isn't nearly as atrocious as you keep exaggerating it to be.

It's not like he's going "VELL VELL ROARZCHAC AND NITE OWVEL, VELCOME TO MINE ATNZARTIC CASTLE!!". Please, get over the accent. If anyone played character poorly, it was Silk Spectre

  • @GaminexPro

1.) you haven't given me four different reasons. You've given me two variations of two questionable reasons which I have refuted.

2.) Your "Ozzymanfuckindias" point is irrelevant. Goode cannot speak with whatever accent he wants any more than Haley could speak with a high pitch lisp when he dons a Rorschach mask because the source material is clear.

3.) Just because Goode didn't go all they way Colonel Klink doesn't mean his accent was acceptable. It was still stupid and bad.

  • @ramonalejandrosuare Whatever the defense it's all opinion in terms of how you think of it. I know Ozzy doesn't have any accent in the graphic novel. I'm just saying it's not totally impossible for him to have one. As for the actual accent, I don't find it at all annoying or bad. It feels minor, really. It helps him stand out alongside the rest of the heroes, all of whom had English backgrounds and families. Since his backstory wasn't explored in the film too much, the accent helped, IMO.

  • @GaminexPro The reoccurring problem with your defense of Goode is that his accent made no sense in the context of the comic or film, neither of which properly explained (and even contradicts) why Oz would need to speak in a wannabe Germanic accent to begin with. Nor does he need a wannabe German accent to stick out. He's the antagonist of the story who destroys millions of lives to save the planet. It was a cheap trick based on a shallow interpretation of the character. There's no defending it.

  • DONT DRINK THE KOOL AID

  • DAMN I want that Tiger!

  • @MsKHtheAddict nice kitty :)

  • I don't know about those guys but I'd be wondering why the boss was wearing his hero gear.

  • @TheFab4727 bubastes

  • "I cannot imagine a more dangerous opponent."

Really? That's who he's more worried about? Because I'd be shitting my pants if I had to fight Dr Manhattan O_o

  • At least Ozymandias gave those people a humane, painless death.

  • @xtatictimes4ever There's nothing humane about it I say.

  • @Gevatar Yes, he did kill them. But it was a painless death. He could have gassed them or shot them, or burnt them alive. But instead Ozymandias put them to sleep and then disintegrated them. But that's my opinion.

  • Does Dr. Manhattans Energy Reactor have a name?

  • @mac19971 Intrinsic Field Generator? Dunno. It seems to be the same technology that created Dr. Manhattan in the first place.

  • @theQuestion626 I actually found out on a Watchmen Wiki, that this weapon Manhattan and Adrian made, replaces a mutant alien creature from the comic that was supposed to be this weapon, instead it was replaced. And the name of the creature was SQUID. SQUID also stands for in the movie, Sub Quantum Unified Intrinsic Field Device, and so they made this Energy Reactor.

  • @mac19971 That would be SQUIFD.

  • @theQuestion626 I think what I just said in my last reply may be a good Watchmen Wiki answer to Manhattans Energy Reactor. What do you think?

  • @mac19971 it's a tad long-winded but then again that is the point of the acronym. I think it's accurate, it works for me.

  • @theQuestion626 What's Acronym??

  • @mac19971 it's an abbreviation of a long word.

  • @theQuestion626 Why would you say that, when Im talking about the Energy Reactor?

  • @mac19971 that's what I was saying SQUID would be a good acronym for; Manhattan's energy reactor.

  • @theQuestion626 Oh.. My mistake mate, It actually would make a Good acronym.... : )

  • @mac19971 not a problem. and yes, I thought SQUID was appropo

  • Seems Rorschach deserves Ozy's title. You know 'The Smartest man alive' title.

  • How would the squid have looked??

  • @EuromanMovieReport VERY off. That's why they went with a bomb instead of a giant squid.

  • I just wish he had an accent that did not keep changing.

  • i want to live there.....adrian included ;)

  • Here's the one thing I don't understand about the film of Watchmen: in the comics, Bubastis (ie. the blue tiger thing) was genetically engineered as a prototype to prove that such things were possible before moving on to develop Adrian's 'alien'. If the Giant Squid isn't canon in this version, then what the hell is Bubastis doing there? Everyone that I took to see the film (9 times) asked the same question - 'what was with the unexplained Blue Cat?'

  • I thought they were on the moon

  • @codafett

omg me too! i was like what in the fuck is going on here?

  • Not to keen on Rorschach's voice in this, going to watch the film later though. Doubt it's as good as the original comic/motion comic. Bubastis is looking pretty damn impressive though.

  • a kitty!

  • Self cleaning scientists: leave only the fresh scent of pine!

  • My word, that man is beautiful.

  • Gah! I can't find the scene of veidt letting nite owl beat the crap out of him anywhere

  • whats the scene that appears like an octopus or something like that?

  • wtf this makes the pharaoh quote pointless. hes suppose to cover them in snow, as the servants covered the dead with sand.

  • @godlikecharacta dude your a dumbass who clearly is taking this way to literal

  • There is one thing that never quite got me, how could Rorschach and Nte Owl know Pyramid Transnationals head base was in Antartica?

  • @R2R3L4 Karnak is Veidt's retreat, so Nite Owl and Rorshach knew he'd be there.

  • @R2R3L4 I think everyone knew, i think at one time he mentioned it on the TV...dunno if that was in the novel or the movie though.

  • The soundtrack fits so well with this scene, awesome!

  • this was in the standard movie

  • 1:25 Oh, no-not more Dr. Manhattans :P

  • I love this scene, one of my favs in the movie.

  • There is no perfect world, but in order to come close to it, sacrifice is required.

  • I thought this was in the Threater? I remember seeing it... I did go on opening night so maybe it was removed afterwards or something.

  • i love his big cat thing

  • That scientist kind of looks like a black version of Ian Holm

  • . . . ? He was Indian . . .

  • That's Manoj Sood; better known as Baber from "Little Mosque on the Prairie".

  • -.-

And who would you suggest? hmm?

    Matthew Goode played him perfectly.

  • @StrawberrySheffields you're absolutely right!

Why does everybody dislike Goode as Ozymandias? I think he was just perfect for this role u.u

and he's also kinda hot XD

  • In the comic book, he was almost a maniac with his underlings. There was a cruise ship full of his underlings......

  • I feel really sorry for those scientists..

  • if you think about it, the world goes back at war with eachother becuase his his journal gets published reveiling Veidts lie, so doesnt that damn the world once more?

  • Thats the whole point. Little thought required.

  • @lamberrari23 Perhaps, but look at who receives the journal... Not everyone believes what comes out of the tabloids (or do they...?)

  • I love the music.

Same track as when Rorschach meets his end.

  • Little did the servants know they drank poison nectar...

  • What in life Does no disver selbaraion

  • is he wearing eye make-up lol

  • Oooh yeah! See everyone? Eventually the world will find out that it was Veidt who did everything, not Manhattan!!

  • omg.....he is soo cool!!!!

he is not evil...he is just thinking wrong.......and he makes pease....^^

  • This was in the theatrical version.

  • WTF Continuity with nipples of costumes???

  • how is this a directors cut scene?

  • Another scene that was included in the REGULAR DVD out in Germany. Why does it seem to have been missing in the original US screen version? Any idea?

  • Because studios & most moviegoers in the USA don't want to watch a movie more than 2 hrs long. S'a shame really, most of us little idea of what great movie making really is...

  • they didnt make a sound when fall to the ground

  • veidt is the best character

  • Comment removed

  • i luv this scene it sums up adrien in about a minute and a half what took the novel sevrel pages to do so
