She was one of my favorite singers when I was a kid. I had her album 'A Touch of Sherry'. Amazing bells. I live in Kansas City, yet I have never seen her life. I'm going to have to do something about that...unlless she no longer performs.
OMG WHY Have I never heard of her before? I am a huge Judy Garland fan and also of many other singers like her and of her time..but MARILY MAYE?????? This is the best voice I have ever heard!
I met Marilyn Maye a few Months ago..dashing through Wendy's in OP KS.. Although, she was into a rush and wanted to be on her way. She made time for me and signed her Name on a napkin! She was gracious! Thanks Ms Maye. God Bless : )
Marilyn is a top of the class act- I just spent a wonderful weekend watching her perform at the Royal Room at the Colony Hotel in Palm Beach and like a fine wine- she gets better and better! She is one winner who has truly led the way!
This originally aired on January 21, 1967. "You're Gonna Hear From Me", by Andre and Dory Previn, is from Natalie Wood's 1965 film, "Inside Daisy Clover".
Just saw her in NYC recently and she is still as amazing as ever!! What a performer! My grandfather Doc Severinsen's advice: if you want to be a professional singer, you have to study Marilyn Maye! She's the greatest.
wow. i haven't heard of MM in such a long time! how refreshing- like seeing an old friend. simply terrific! thanks for the wonderful post! peace Clark
Gorgeous voice. I honestly don't know why she hasn't received more recognition.
Ella definitely knew what she was talking about.

Great singer. She looks like a blending of Debbie Reynolds and Babs Streisand.

She sang the first version of "Cabaret" I ever heard, and it's still my favorite. Marilyn Maye is one of the GREAT singers.
