  • For those mods that is a good number, Im assuming this is on a mustang dyno? Im about to do the same setup as you except Im doing headers, tgv deletes, up pipe ewg. I'm hoping to be around 370whp on a mustang dyno.

    How is the lag for the 30R?

  • @STI4Life06 i have what you say you are doing and i am put down 405 down, and as far as lag i am at full boost by 3500RPM and lag is minimal at 21pounds

  • @STI4Life06 idk why your comment was removed but i read what you said, i believe with the stock vf39 it be at full boost by 3200/3300 area,i recently added a DevilsOwn Meth kit to my car and believe it or not it feels like no lag at all and pulls hard between 2800-7200 with ease, i highly recommend some sort of add on injection kit to a rotated kit

I actually ended up getting the blouch DOM 3 xt-r which I just picked up along with 1000cc injectors so let the fun begin! It wont be anything like a rotated 30r but, Im hoping for around 380-400whp on a mustang dyno.

  • @STI4Life06 buddy of mine had that exact turbo(20g) on a 04WRX and supporting mods put down 360WHP so you should easily be in the same ball park or better, good luck with your project

  • Im guessing your going conservative due to the stock bottom end? Turbo sounds good..but I also think if your going to spend the money on a rotated mount you should have went withat least the 35r on the 2.5 boxer because everyone that mods a car knows it may be fast today..but tomarrow you want to be faster..look at me go from intake and exhaust ..to fully built element tuning engine and 40R..on a 04 STi..its adicting

  • Im pretty sure most people would agree that more than 300-310 whp from a VF39/43 without a engine blowing tune or some kind of additive, like meth or alky, and youre on a high-reading dyno. And, in his description, he said its a conservative tune. Throw another $600 at a meth kit and a bit more aggressive tune, Ill bet this thing can put down ~380whp with awesome spool. Nice set up man.

  • @AK06WRX When I had my 05 sti tuned it put out 314.76 max power and 352.04 max torque, I'm running a stock turbo(18 psi) and some basic mods, intake, full catless turboback, big topmount intercooler and headers. I can send you the dyno sheet if you want to see it. But im sure you can get those numbers out of a stock turbo I mean im close to that on a very conservative tune we didn't push the car very much at all since this is my daily driver for now...

  • @Alex8365 i have an 04 sti and its putting down 327 at the wheels with nothing but a good tune intake exhaust and clutch. if he has a gt30 and some injectors there is no reason he couldnt put that down. good video gsrrep. car is bad ass

  • I put down 348 whp and 361 tq with a vf series on a mustang dyno....just saying. was the the exact dyno no...but what i can tell you is ide be mad if i spent 3g's on a turbo kit and theres people making more on stock parts..are u running 10psi and no timing?

  • @1mpr3zaz what about any of ken blocks (or the rest of subarus' rally team for that matter) sti? We've all seen what his can do and it had well over 500hp and all he did was tear up the 'course'.  I wouldn't say that is a miss matched setup at all...

  • I can vouch for that..al ran 11's in his STi I know a guy he actually has a vid on here of his stock STi with only a TBE running low 12's

  • the reason dynoflash makes such good power on ALL of their cars is because the tune with a very lean AFR which can lead to engine failure much quicker...more power, but less engine life. Mine is tuned conservatively and I have 30k miles on the gt30 setup...not one problem, not one retune, engine runs great!

  • most of the tunes that dynoflash do. they use methanol... i know u are only using pump gas.. but still.. 351whp.. is kinda low. even for a mustang dyno.. or w/e dyno u used.. in my opinion i wouldnt be satisfied with 351whp..if i just swapped a gt30 into my car... for that matter i'll just beat the hell out of the stock sti turbo and if it breaks is only a 250 dollar piece.. used found on nasioc or ebay

  • haha 351 whp with a gt3076r? my 2007 sti with the same setup make 450whp with meth injection on a 93 octane tune. aps fmic, deatschwerk 850cc injectors, custom aluminum intake, perrin tbe, and aquamist kit. might think about a new tune... even for daily driving.

  • Depends what dyno. There is fully a 100+whp difference from the highest reading dynos to the lowest.

    Dyno numbers mean sqaut. Show me trap speeds :)

  • Nah I stopped there to keep everything solid through the winter. I'm going to switch to an electric boost controller and turn it up in the spring time. I run the same map all the time.

  • I've had it for about 2 months and have about 2000 miles on it. Runs like a charm and idles like stock- I'd say that's a success for a turbo swap!

  • It's a mustang dyno...reads 20% lower than a dynapack or dynodynamics dyno. realistically it's probably around 390 whp.
