Balto was one of the most famous siberian husky in history; a true hero to many people including the hundreds of sick people that he was able to bring the "siren" (medicine) to by being the lead dog of his sled team for the final stretch of the Great Siren Run across frozen tundra.
Not exactly the same as depicted in the movie Balto, but he was truely a magnificent sibe.
