  • Beautifully sublime piece, superbly performed. My only grumble was the video shifted to the pedals AFTER the poignant pedal break-shame

  • We signed the register at our wedding to this piece. Glasgow University chapel June 19th 1999. Nice to hear it played so nicely :)

  • @TheFrogfather1 I'm delighted you enjoyed it and that it brings back happy memories for you!

  • This piece is quite often played as a voluntary before the start of a service to settle the congregation and to set the scene for what is to follow. Fine stuff.

  • This piece is so very beautiful - part of a suite of 5 if I recall correctly. Well played!

  • Im sorry I ment the scherzo not the paean

  • Thanks for your comment. It truly is a beautiful piece. So evocative. Will certainly play some more of his music.

  • I remember learning this piece about 10 years ago, I pull it out now and again, I find this one very tricky. To play the sixths in the right hand on the second page and get em nice and legatto for me is challanging. Parts of this always feels awkward for me.

Yes it is too bad such a talent died so young.

Have a go at the pean. ikes!

  • Yes, I know. It's a tragedy that he died at only 43. His music is so characterful.

  • Nicely played.

  • You know...everybody's playing this and the Fletcher Fountain Reverie again.
