Because Doumeki really cares about his friend. (Waiting 8 hours for him when Watanuki was caught under the hydranga- although I'd do that for a true friend too.) And maybe the arguing?

anyway...Yuuko is dead...or to say..had been dead al the time but she really is gone now, Watanuki took her place in shop, he would stay there as a price to bring Yuuko back.

Watanuki got a bit cooler...and HImawari told him that she loves her

THough Doumeki is the only one who is in regular contact with Watanuki
