  • I Love Mahmoud Darwish. I am English but his poetry touched my heart and I will remember his writings and him dearly and always. R.I.P Mahmoud Darwish. Did they take your identity? You gave many back theirs.

  • this is not an islamic funeral. wow. subhanallah. may Allah guide us to the straight path and keep us away from ignorance.

  • Poor Abbas ..he shall never get such a funeral.he had to attend it though he hated the guts of Darwish . A teacher who taught us to remember that yes we are Palestinians but we belong to a greater nation of the Semite "Quote me am an Arab "he said ...

  • tank you kosummak you are very kind !!!!!!! so i hope i will find some of this copies in english or spanish..tanks

  • @kosummak I do not speak Arabic you are citing his poem :"Identity Card" generally translated as "Record" an imperative I have been told there is a "dual" in Arabic as in ancient Greek I need a GOOD translation--apart from his patriotism which we do not have to even discuss --I want to understand him as a poet--his metrics, the resonance of his words --if he says record I am an Arab--to whom is he speaking? If it is "quote me" than who is the "You" he is speaking to?

  • Mahmoud Darwish and Edward Said - two of the greatest voices for Palestine lost in such small time.

  • @simply2ghetto I wanted to tell you I knew Edward Said VERY slightly--a GREAT patriot but you know he taught English Literature at Columbia--I always disagreed with his interpretations!:) he was also a fine muscisian!

  • do you know when i cant get his poems , and in what languages he published his books ?

  • the main language was Arabic ...but he got pop. in 40 lang.

RIP a great poet of the Revolt & Arab Nationalism

  • على هذه الارض سيده الارض ما يستحق الحياة....وانت يا درويش تستحق الحياة ولم ولن تموت فانت باق فينا الى الابد....

  • RIP Mahmoud Darwish. Another prominent Palestinian voice for peace lost. May the words and ideas of people like Mahmoud Darwish and Edward Said live on in hopes of an eventual conclusion to this horrible conflict.

  • The first time I read one of his poems was not long ago and when I searched about him and read his poems I couldnt stop thinking about him. He speaks like he is in everyone, because he was so just in his words so justified that you could feel him like he was the hair on your head. Rest in Peace you live on in my heart for always

  • do you know where i can get his books and in how many languages he published his books ?

  • Du kan finde hans digte også på english, fransk, spansk, tysk og mange andre, selvom i det nordiske sprog.
