Then I grew up, went to school, to University, and then I found a good job. Now I'm adult, I have family, and today I'm building my new own home. I'll put a desk with a typewriter on it, then I'll install an hidden Hi-Fi sistem in my home office with this song in an eternal loop... Thank you, Resident Evil!

@OfficerRyman7 There's something called Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society which is an Air Ambulance group in Canada, helping people in distress when they're in remote areas or in situations where an air-lift is needed. I smiled when I noticed S.T.A.R.S. was a legit thing, even if it isn't really like the true S.W.A.T.-style :)
RE 4 and 5 both sucked, you can't say you liked one and disliked the other when they're the exact same game that both offered the same thing as each other.
This song was back when Resident Evil truly defined Survival Horror, and before Leon had an emo fringe and Chris was a steroid hoarding monkey.
@DarkGunn22 4 and 5 were vastly different. RE5 had an awkward inventory system, shitting story progression, stupid co-op quick time events/button mashing and overall sucked.
RE4 had the horrible escort segments, but when it was just Leon it was still pretty fun.

No they aren't the same game.One you spend the entre game with a partner, the other you don't.One you have the cool dark gothic styles, the other you have crap like sunny daytime levels.The levels are so bland and boring in RE5 while RE4 has awesome levels.
The whole item combining thing to make higher priced items was a great fun feature.
The main mansion part of Lost in Nightmares was way better than main RE5 and that didn't even have any enemies.
I will give to capcom a last chance with RE revelations... If that game turns into a pice of shit i'll declared this franchise dead to me.... I miss so much the old-school RE games (REmake and Zero were the best) anyway i really enjoy it RE 4
@RexDynasty No. Real fans aren't loyal, they should be willing, no scratch that "allowed" to give constructive criticism when needed and not kiss ass all for the sake of the franchise. I've played Resident Evil 4 and 5 and the games were fun, but it's not as scary or survival horror as these were.
@PopRocknSoul I know, that RE isn't RE anymore. But loyality will bring it back to the roots ona day. Never loose hope. Otherwise you'll loose it (RE) forever. This applies for every game with gamedepth (Resident Evil, Halo, Fable, Metal Gear, Dreamfall for example).
@RexDynasty I'm not saying I won't continue to play them, I will, it's just that it's not the same survival horror way. Even Tomb Raider is not the same anymore but I play them, so my criticism should not be left out. Not much the gameplay now that bothers me, but the auto-save after every level, buying weapons, having so many people around you in the environment, open world etc.

@Mr37Kyle The only bad thing of this game was that if a zombie grabs you, they bit you like 5 times and left you on red life. But When i was a boy and i was in my room playing with my brother this was very scary and we always haven't got herbs. Great times.

@0nintendofan0 dud just run past zombies or knife the fuck outta them...for hunters it's best to kill them when you see them, Cerberus you can run past them too, spiders aren't much of a problem to me because their ridiculously easy to kill or run past
The best RE they ever made...once 4 came in they completely started changing the idea of this story. People get confused with loving RE 4 and loving Leon K. There's a difference!
@Shaldezar they can break through the safe room. the one under the stair case, when there's like three in that area and the one up stairs can jump down to the bottom. at that part we were so freaked out cause we had no ammo, we just stayed in the safe room for a really long time and it broke down the door
@18passer Hunter's are not able to break down Save Room doors. Are you talking about the part where you re-enter the hallway that Kenneth was killed, and a Hunter leaps through an open doorway?
The last DECENTLY creepy thing Capcom released was the Lost in Nightmares DLC for RE5. The part where you lose your weapons definitely made it scarier, but not on the same level as the classic RE games. As for a new RE game, I just want a classic-style game that lets us know what happened to Rebecca (whom I like a lot) after RE1.
to be honest the Resident Evil Series got worse as time went on.... the last true good resident evil was probably the REmake.... which is still my favorite as you can tell from me being on this video.......

Hm...I think the last good classic-style RE game was Resident Evil 0. It was reminiscent of the REmake, yet it had its own charm and scares. Really good stuff. However, I am a big fan of Resident Evil 4, even though it led to the catastrophic RE5.
@bobdole9696 Well I just recently played through zero again and the only part that actually scared me was when you get to the factory (I think) and you go into a room and theres no music and no enemies. Then you turn the corner pick up a key. Turn back around and while you're on your way leaving a fucking hunter slides in from around the corner and and rapes the hell outta you. That part scared me so much I had some sort of mini seizure when it happened. lol

I think you're delusional in all honesty. Resident Evil had to move on from shitty tank controls and fixed cameras because time changed, and change had to happen. Take a look at Silent Hill, that's a horror series sticking to how it played from game 1 and the series is complete shit right now.

I feel the exact same way, man. I play the REmake every 5 months or so, just for nostalgia and because it's such a great fucking game. Even the originals on Playstation 1, I find myself frequently indulging in them.

But hey - we'll always have the classics. Honestly what games are good now a days? I've all but stopped playing video games because none of them last more than a couple days before I get bored or have to buy some DLC to keep interested.
@Raijian9 Re1 remake was a work of art! not one part of that game did i dislike and even the story behind one of the monsters (Lisa Trevor) was soooo much better than anything they produced in re5 story. Also I miss games when i didnt have to pay for extra money for DLC later on...i like the full game when i pay for it lol.

Developers are too busy with fancy graphics and DLC and monthly fees to actually put time into making an original piece of work. I don't know what happened to video games, but most of them suck now. Could you imagine if they REmade the original Resident Evil 2 and 3 titles the way they did the first? They would be INCREDIBLE.

I think Capcom really had the right idea when they decided to have the only places in the whole mansion where you were always 100% safe, have music and an atmosphere that made you feel extremely unsafe.
I didn't have a fucking Ink Ribbon! I saved on the 'Mansion E. Stairs' last and with a fucking Crimson Head outside the room's door! Oh, did I mention I had to "fight" the Yawn? (R.I.P Richard) And the Crimson Head with those Death Masks? (BTW, those masks are scary) And then, I still didn't have any Ink Ribbons. I had to meet Lisa Trevor, that cute little bitch, and use the crank to drain that pool. On the residence, I finally found Ink Ribbons and finally saved the game O.o HUGE relief. HUGE.
RE5 sucked. The movies all suck, even though they keep releasing more. I love the old RE, hell, even RE4 was alright & believable & scary. Capcom needs to just let RE die already, unless they honor all the old RE's the same way they did w/ the Gamecube remake of the first. Resident Evil might as well be dead already. Stop the disgraceful additions already. Either add incredible remakes of older games, or just let it go Capcom.
Yeah, I feel this way too. Resident Evil 4 was the worst thing to ever happen to the series. It went from survival horror to third person action, and lost all of it's originality. Resident Evil 5 was a complete joke.
I own Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 for the Playstation, and I also own the REmake on GameCube, and I play these aaaaaaaaaalllll the time. They never get old.
Even Zero was pretty good. It didn't really fit into the storyline but it was still a survival horror.
If you could actually put your expectations of the 4th aside and see it as a totally new installment, you realized you were playing a milestone titl - I still refer to it as the greatest game of the last decade.
It is my belief that the game, Resident Evil 4, fails as a survival horror game and as a Resident Evil game. As such, I am going to explain why I feel this way. I’m going to break this explanation down into three sections: why RE4 fails as horror, why it fails as “survival”, and why it fails as a Resident Evil game. As a forewarning, the result is quite a lengthy essay…only venture in if you are pure of heart, bold of spirit, and bored enough to read the whole damn thing.

I first played this when I was like...12...now Im 21, and theres been like a 5 or 6 yr gap that I haven't really had this game. I bought it yesterday. :) but back to the quote. As i dodged the zombie and ran into the safe haven, I happened to read the quote about the lantern, and It gave me such a good feeling. Lol.
The 5th one and the movies I agree are terrible. The 4th one I actually enjoyed a lot with it's promising new story concept and gameplay. The 5th one pretty much ruined the new direction to the story and copied the 4th, which I think is why the negative fan reaction went towards the 4th soon after the 5th's release. As for the movies, they have nothing related to the game series and literally destroyed my expectaions.
@MultiNatla Although I never got the chance to finish the game, the first time one of the zombies got up, I cried out so loud that I scared the two guys with me. The fact that it had claws and came at me with such speed only made things worse.

this game has such an amazing atmosphere, It's Nightime. thunder crashing outside, zombies and monsters everywhere you go. i Haven't played Remake yet (I've played the original) but i am so excited to get it, and the music really sets in the mood. =)

I think you're delusional in all honesty. Resident Evil had to move on from shitty tank controls and fixed cameras because time changed, and change had to happen. Take a look at Silent Hill, that's a horror series sticking to how it played from game 1 and the series is complete shit right now.

I feel the exact same way, man. I play the REmake every 5 months or so, just for nostalgia and because it's such a great fucking game. Even the originals on Playstation 1, I find myself frequently indulging in them.
Capcom broke my heart.
But hey - we'll always have the classics. Honestly what games are good now a days? I've all but stopped playing video games because none of them last more than a couple days before I get bored or have to buy some DLC to keep interested.

@Raijian9 Re1 remake was a work of art! not one part of that game did i dislike and even the story behind one of the monsters (Lisa Trevor) was soooo much better than anything they produced in re5 story. Also I miss games when i didnt have to pay for extra money for DLC later on...i like the full game when i pay for it lol.

Yes, the Lisa and Trevor story.. so great. I LOVED reading all the diaries and making sense of it all.
Developers are too busy with fancy graphics and DLC and monthly fees to actually put time into making an original piece of work. I don't know what happened to video games, but most of them suck now. Could you imagine if they REmade the original Resident Evil 2 and 3 titles the way they did the first? They would be INCREDIBLE.

I didn't have a fucking Ink Ribbon! I saved on the 'Mansion E. Stairs' last and with a fucking Crimson Head outside the room's door! Oh, did I mention I had to "fight" the Yawn? (R.I.P Richard) And the Crimson Head with those Death Masks? (BTW, those masks are scary) And then, I still didn't have any Ink Ribbons. I had to meet Lisa Trevor, that cute little bitch, and use the crank to drain that pool. On the residence, I finally found Ink Ribbons and finally saved the game O.o HUGE relief. HUGE.

RE5 sucked. The movies all suck, even though they keep releasing more. I love the old RE, hell, even RE4 was alright & believable & scary. Capcom needs to just let RE die already, unless they honor all the old RE's the same way they did w/ the Gamecube remake of the first. Resident Evil might as well be dead already. Stop the disgraceful additions already. Either add incredible remakes of older games, or just let it go Capcom.

Yeah, I feel this way too. Resident Evil 4 was the worst thing to ever happen to the series. It went from survival horror to third person action, and lost all of it's originality. Resident Evil 5 was a complete joke.
I own Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 for the Playstation, and I also own the REmake on GameCube, and I play these aaaaaaaaaalllll the time. They never get old.
Even Zero was pretty good. It didn't really fit into the storyline but it was still a survival horror.

The 5th one and the movies I agree are terrible. The 4th one I actually enjoyed a lot with it's promising new story concept and gameplay. The 5th one pretty much ruined the new direction to the story and copied the 4th, which I think is why the negative fan reaction went towards the 4th soon after the 5th's release. As for the movies, they have nothing related to the game series and literally destroyed my expectaions.
