  • Hard to digest the idea that we are not the one digesting it... :-)

  • Interesting possibilities here, Maurizio. Thanks for sharing. Most human beings would perish the thought that a parasite or any other entity could be controlling their thoughts but each new day brings more fascinating insights contradicting what we have always believed to be true before. My 20-something son forwarded this video onto me (tongue in cheek) perhaps in regards to his recent erratic driving skills :) or he's SUBTLY trying to tell me something else as I'm intolerant to many foods.

  • My body is full of parasites, huh? A good time to consider self-immolation.

  • i believe that you are wrong and this is why i think this way.

as a person i have many "bugs" that i live in and on me at all times. now the healthy ones (not trying to kill me) are living in a symbiotic relationship where the 2lbs of bacteria in my gut should be able to have some way of telling me what is good or bad for them because this affects me, the larger organism. now i can choose to 'listen' to them or i can eat 'bad' food that will affect them and myself. i am > grass. i am body & soul

  • @RedLetterChristian I actually agree with you. I am simply proposing that we are not "one" undivided organism but an organism that lives in symbiosis with many other, smaller and larger organisms... And these organisms have an evolutionary agenda of their own... both the one that help you digest your food and the one that try killing you...

We are part of a large web of relationships other then simply "me-me-me"...

    ... just a thought... :-)

    love, Maurizio

  • Self seems no illusion because the one that manifests as self that talks, listens, sees, reflections, senses all is truth, no illusion, what is illusion is to doubt that True self. What originates from thoughts of this doubt only with out considering the true self is illusion, not the SELF that One is, Yes that true self/life force is dancing infinitely in infinite forms

  • That quote at the end is annoying. Whoever said that was a fool, and a douche.

Importance is assigned by US. If he values people the same as a blade of grass, i wouldn't want him living anywhere near me. He has no place in civilization.

  • @mrbluesky323 well that's rather arrogant. You never know how much a blade of grass may be valued... nvr know what u got til its gone ;) lol

  • @inasitny

"You never know how much a blade of grass may be valued"

YES I DO! that's the whole point of what i was saying.

  • @mrbluesky323 well gee you know every single point in which a blade of grass has existed in every single multiverse, and not only that, have judged every single blade of grass of its value, and, against all odds, decided all of these blades of grass cross countless space-times are of the exact same value.

    interesting.

  • @inasitny

", decided all of these blades of grass cross countless space-times are of the exact same value."

Not exactly the same. Just that they're all much less value than a human. And, in my opinion, if someone thinks the value of the two is equal, then that person doesn't belong in civilized society.

  • @mrbluesky323

so you admit to understanding every blade of grass that's have ever existed, exists, and will exist in every possible universe, and was given the power of objectively quantifying all their values, as well as the values of everything (somewhat-close-to) human in said states?

That is incredible, might I ask how you did so?

  • @inasitny

"That is incredible, might I ask how you did so?"

Because a blade of grass must conform to the definition of a blade of grass. If the object in question falls outside my understanding of a blade of grass, then it also fails to conform to my definition of a blade of grass and, therefore, isn't what I'm talking about. It's easy.

  • @mrbluesky323

quite the amazing argument. You quote a single line from my argument, and don't even argue against the entire thing in its context!

you simple-minded cretan, a blade of grass can conform to a standard defintion of this roughly triangular green thing with a certain chemical makeup and still be of incredible importance. it takes but one instance.

  • interesting video. while we may not be able to control our impulses you imply that we are able to control our responses to our impulses. That is in my opinion the essence of consciousness, of soul if you will. We've all had unwelcome impulses or cravings, but we also all feel an ability to override them or counteract them, or reflect on them. Are bacteria involved in this also? Our impulses may be one thing but our response ability is our responsibility. We are still maestro, captains of soul?

  • We are not our bodies, we are not our minds, nor are we 'consciousness': We are beyond consciousness; a filed of all possibilities that is choiceless, uninvolved, unindivided, ONE-ness. Body-mind organisms arise in this 'field' as a waive in the ocean. It is said, "see the waives on the ocean." This statement is a 'mind label.' It is false as the mind is a bundle of thoughts: waives of energy just as the ocean's waives are 'ocean stuff' that take a form then dissipate again.

  • great!

And I'm happy to be part of a community of bacteria that spreads consciousness all over the planet!

  • That's I call: "Microbes and the play of life"!!

  • :-) ...very, very clever... why not???... :-)

I am simply hinting that our sense of self being in charge of our body, thoughts and action is an illusion... And if that sense of self is an illusion, or at least is influenced by "things" inside and around us, we will have to admit "life" is a dance involving infinite forms, from bacterias to stars, having their evolutionary agendas creating "what is".

    We are deeply interconnected... :-)

  • So human beings love of such things as the automobile and the burning of fossil fuels, for example, along with the resulting production of carbon dioxide and global warming could be attributed to plant kingdom microbes we host who are somehow triggering such behavior for the benefit of the plants who love the CO2 and warmer weather. Pretty clever!

  • Bravo Maurizio! With 50-100 trillion cells and masses of bacteria/other organisms, what can say it is the ONE making the decisions, except as an afterthought? I dig your views. "I" who/what? Peace and Love to you my friend. Keep them coming.
