Mama Kia has passed away.

The first time I was in her presence, I knew she was extra ordinary - but I didn't know why...yet. Then I had the opportunity to visit the orphanage. I was amazed at all she knew and did for so so so many people- not just the children, but she fed so many people as well. All the art she taught everyone, the music, the organic farming... These kids were actually fortunate to land in mama kia's arms. I love you Mama Kia. God bless your journey. Anne Marie

I am so deeply grateful that I had the honor to know this incredibly amazing woman. Her capacity to love and give was remarkable, and you can see it in all the eyes of her children. we need more organizations like this. as a peruvian myself, I see that the poverty stricken areas like Qusqu are hardly given any attention. awareness is one of the best ways to bring about social change. it's gotta start somewhere.

I will say from experience that Casa de Milagros is a wonderful and enchanting place. I lived there with the children and Mama Kia for 6 weeks in the summer of 2005. The children are amazingly sweet, caring, and accepting. I will never forget the time I spent with them and I hope to return in the years to come.

What is the legal status of these children? Can they be adopted, can families ask them back legally or blackmail the foundation etc? I am planning to start an NGO to work with women and children in Mexico and I was just wondering how it's all legally solved? THANKS :) Amazing video!
