  • Good thoughts, Great video ..Peace

  • I can't really argue with you on this one.

  • The problem is we want everything to be automatic, easy and simple whilst life and especially community life isn't easy or simple.

Lets hope some day every body uses his brain...

  • *not to mention now, he's willing to give you more then what a straight trade of a 3000GT for a CVO would be, because the CVO is only worth to people 3/4ths the amount of gold as your 3000GT is worth to them. Now you go to the guy who has the CVO, and buy it from him, and can choose what to do with whats left over.

He on the other hand can now use that gold to buy his truck. Money is nothing more then a tool to measure the balance of supply and demand. Anything can be money. It's not bad

  • he wants. Now there may not be a person who wants to trade a CVO for a 3000GT nor the specific truck for one, while there may be other people who want a 3000GT, but have nothing that they are willing to trade that you want.

Here is where money comes in, lets say there is a base line item that everyone likes (in the past this was gold) Then everyone has an idea of how much of this item, they would trade lets say a 3000GT for, and how much of this item they would trade for a 3000GT.

  • @FallenAquila Now that society itself has recognized something that everyone is willing to hold on to, and use for trades, the only problem in the way is the measurement of worth. This is made by the additive judgment of people themselves over time. Lets say your 3000GT is worth more then that CVO. Well now one of these other people who had an item that you didn't want already has (we'll use gold for this example) gold, enough that you are willing to trade for, not to mention it.

  • so lets say that something else is a motorcycle. So without using money, you want to buy a specific motorcycle a harley davison CVO. You find a guy who doesn't really want his anymore, and ask to trade with him, there is a problem he doesn't like your car (in this case a 3000GT) he likes trucks instead and won't trade for a 3000GT. This means that in order to get a CVO, you must either A. find someone else who wants a 3000GT with a CVO, or find someone who wants that 3000GT with the truck that

  • Your car, a resource of transportation, it can also be a resource of raw materials, or of working items for something else. To you it has an intrinsic value, to someone else the value is different. You may not sell it off because you think the car is worth holding on to, whether for transportation needs, or emotional (aka such as you like it). But if you had two, would the need change? Maybe, maybe not.

You may then look at that car and think that the value of it is less then something else.

  • If you want to understand economics, which is the study of how people take their wants and needs and which they choose to fulfill based on the situation they are in, then you need to understand that everything is a resource, every resource has a demand.

Your time, a resource you have a limited amount of time on this earth alive, and based on how you feel about that, you choose to use this resource accordingly. You may trade your time for work for something else, or use it for your own leisure

  • @SuperVanDamme I do agree on the lack of value problem, and the inflation is caused by loaning money that doesn't exist keep them from loaning money that doesn't exist, the problem goes away.

As far as the violence and "limits" it doesn't. Replace money with any resource and it stops. Medical research for a cure to X desease stops because they run out of igrediant A, or don't have the supplies for to run electricity etc. If a man wants something from someone that he can't get on his own

  • @FallenAquila he could still steal it and would.

You are ignoring the basic laws of how things works, like I said the is a limited amount of resources and an unlimited amount of uses for them. Money is a easy to convert resource, that is all. To remove it would cause transfer issues. Money is not the problem, the way it has been treated and the acceptance of that treatment is.

  • @SuperVanDamme lol wut?

Even if no monetary system exists that could not happen. There is a limited amount of resources, an unlimited amount of uses for them, and on each individual level a varying need for each use.

the use of paper notes was because people wanted a place to safe hold their gold, and it was more convenient for them to carry a note for X amount that a merchant who worked with the same safe holder to use to have the money "transfered".

Do some actual indepth history resear

  • It's the fact that banks can take the money you have put in, loan it out, and yet still give you your money back, that should no longer be in the banks control that is scary. Basically, for to stop inflation, the bank would hold onto your money, be able to take a portion of it for X amount of months, invest it in a loan and then pay you back the money minus whatever defaulted if it did.

  • @SuperVanDamme It isn't the interest thats a problem necessarily. The the fact that the money has no real measurable value. Money was originally made out of a commodity with an actual value by society. This was an easy was to transfer goods and services. instead of someone who wanted to a goat for a cart, but the person wanted a cow, the person with a goat wouldn't have to go find someone to trade a goat for a cow for a cart like the old cartoon line of trades scenario.

  • Your message is so clear and insightful. I wish this message could be broadcast further than just you-tube. Enough of us have to get together and make a difference. I hope we can... I really do.

  • well, u do have a point there. now, regardless of the theme itself, why make a video in ur bathroom man, it echoes too much so it's a bit hard to understand what you're saying. peace.

  • Wow.... this is so deep. And so true. What's 'normal' is scary.

  • this guy isn't whining. he just put a video on the web and then people with negative attitudes say cruel things. this dude has an opinion and voices it well. i don't get the sense that he's complaining.

  • Protean, oh wise one, I'm with you on food, sugar & aspartame (ew). I hadn't thought the push in all 1st world countries to get more & more into college was to saddle more with debt to fuel the bankers & corporate elite - maybe.

But I think you're wrong about relationships; I think that's a by product of wealth. While people struggle to survive they don't have much chance to wonder if their relationships are perfect, that's a luxury that comes with material abundance

  • Its all to do with money as it is a selfish system and verry corroupt

  • interesting observations...

    i agree...

  • I couldn't have said it faster and clearer.

  • Gun shootings are from overcrowding and people who get isolated from society.

  • proteanview, please stop whining. your a big pussy

  • Didn't you post a video previous to this video that said stop whining. So why are you whining? Just get out there and do something about it or are you trying to find an excuse to post your face on video for everyone to see? ;-) So sad...

  • I thought I'd suggest people really re-examine man-made global warming. I know the Al Gore's movie was very convincing but carbon dioxide isn't the evil. The biggest contributor to temperature change is the activity of the sun. It's a long story to say the least but please research the hoax that's being used to create a global carbon tax. For those not aware the warming is occurring throughout the entire solar system. Would it surprise you to know that the polar caps on Mars are also melting?

  • Your research involves jumping from one anti-semitic website to another. If you REALLY did some research, a very different picture would emerge.

  • You've got some good points there Protean. I'd like to recommend, if I may, that you not make so many of them all at once in one video. It seems like you jump around a lot. It's hard to follow. Just a suggestion ; )

  • no. your gay, hes sexy.

  • you're right!!!

  • This is the 3rd or 4th video of yours I've seen & I can't tell you how reaffirming it is to hear someone else say what I often think.

I've always avoided "credit" cards (what a misnomer) because I was taught that usury is morally evil. I believe in something for something & the notion of "interest rates" actually sounds crazy to me. This sometimes means doing without or prioritizing needs. It's been educational for me to see my friends' struggle with debt & hear them speak of debt as normal

  • On a societal level, I like what David Suzuki has to say about the economy. I paraphrase: "The economy was created by humans to improve our lives but we now view it as an independent & overwhelming phenomenon and WE serve ITS needs. We need to remind ourselves that if the economy is failing us, we can simply CHANGE IT."

I look forward to learning more from you. Regards.

  • Yeah good people are everywhere. Collaboration could influence other people into doing the same once they see the benefits.

I'm well aware of the false feelings of superiority being sold now days.

People need to be reminded of what morals are. They aren't religious concepts. It's simply a certain level of empathy.

  • Well it's natural to earn more than others if you do more than others.

These equalization ideas have all been thought of and tried before haven't they? lol

People get depressed when competition is eliminated. It's sad to say but people atleast want the feeling that they COULD own and do things that others can't. Elimination of Jealousy Vs false negative freedom

  • Aww man, you got fifty dollars worth of popcorn?? (you're right, it's not ok)

  • Idiocracy.

    That sums it up.

  • psychological warfare and controlling of the human brain is the final frontier they will attempt to conquer. Conditioning people to accept everything and believe in nothing is but a ploy to disengage us from our human instincts in survival.

This is a sly and back-handed tyranny over our own sovereignty as humang beings and our right to life!

  • One word: BRAINWASHING

  • Well have to say, I tend to agree with a lot you say. It sort of makes perfect sense!

  • smart words from a smart man! :)

  • The rats are jumping ship.

CHEMRISK - a research company hired by the Corn Refiners has recently taken down it's YouTube page.

The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the high-fructose corn syrup ad campaign. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.

See the last remaining ChemRisk video at CornRefinersAssoc on YouTube.

  • i do agree i went to university & didnt finish my degree because the teachers where basicaly morons

i would end up with twice more debt & not realy more in a better financial situation

you could also think well what if i didnt have a TV , computer ,cell phone ,etc ...

personaly i think a home is still worth the same but money is worth less (thus you need to work more to pay for it & all that uneccessary crap we buy ! )

  • Things we need never change value. But since advertisement suggests people with what it is that they want, they start wanting things irrationally and wanting to pay more for things that aren't worth as much.

Real value never changes. A house is always the same value for a human being. It is shelter from the weather. A place to have a family. Food should be worth more than a house, in small quantity. But the thing is, these are things we can all do ourselves for free.

  • Nevermind. What I meant to say was, scarcity should drive prices up, not feelings of want which are directly manipulated.

But I guess scarcity could always be faked as well, like in "1984".

  • College has been pushed in this country as some kind of life cure-all. Hardly anyone seems to want to admit that they're just factories milling out graduates. Factories in which the standards have gone down and down to amp up production. I had a co-worker once with a journalism degree. I asked if she really thought she'd be able to work in that field when she chose it. She said it hadn't even occurred to her to wonder. And there she was at a crappy below minimum wage job with her degree.

  • icepickmeetstemple

I couldn't agree w/ you more. There are people who'd rather garden, be a mechanic, work w/ their hands who are pushed into college. When everyone has a degree, it means very little. It's become just another way to get folks in debt. It's become one of the biggest, voluntary transfers of wealth. Either our parents foot the bill to the tune of well over 100,000 or we get in debt and, therefore, enslaved for the first 10-20 years of our adult life. It's a racket.

  • icepickmeetstemple

I wish I would've saved my parents' money, started traveling sooner. Of course it's not as simple as that, but I feel you.

  • At what point should a Plumber earn more than a doctor? Or at least a graphic designer.

Some say the more you know the more you should earn. But if we're badly in need of masons and construction workers, and no one's interested in doing that because they all want to become lawyers, shouldn't the prices naturally go up? This would simply even things out.

But I don't know the facts, I just get a feeling that there's an imbalance out there.

  • I think you make a good analogy, proteanview. I'd love to guide you to misesmedia, and the austrian economic point of view, but your analogy tells me, you're there already, in many respects. There is sense to what you say. There was a time when the value of our dollar increased in time, making worth while to save, which, in turn, increased capitol per capita, which, in turn increased our standard of living. But Keynesian Economics has robbed us of all that and returned half the value in popcorn.

  • You sir are a Philosopher...

  • deeeeeep.

i always wondered why things like A.D.D. and social anxiety disorder and things of that nature seemed to be newer disorders.

i mean 100 years ago i dont know what people did to treat those things. i know human brains arent smaller than they were back then!

    i think you pegged it!

  • i think we are close to requiring a collage degree to dig a ditch.

  • pretty shure its already required to have a licence to operate a machinery :-)

  • I once told a man who was smoking that "those things will kill you." He responded "we're all going to die anyway."

  • dude its amizing what you have to say specially aabout the education, and the debt part... but the question is.. why are you in a bathroom?

  • i agree 100% this is expected of us, if we dont submit to this way of life we are considered sick. Undeserving of the space we take up, its realy sad that we are still building on the foundation of our fathers before us, havent we decided they were wrong? Time for change is now!

  • And you protean, how can you explain away this vile act with excuses about how it's the fast food? It's the damn parents who don't have any morals, nor who teach their kids morals. This act of aggression was caused by lack of respect for the laws of this once great land. I am getting to the point where I say it's time to clean this country up starting at the bottom of the barrel. That means all the gangsters punks, crack heads, and so forth. Just say the truth, this kid was a little prick punk.

  • I responded to your friends. I find you are showing an unexpected intelligence and insight. Some may find you are including too many subjects at once in your videos. I feel it is quite appropriate. If you think fast and understand, you see it is all inter-related. I appreciate your view. God Bless. I just got my BS degree and no job. Let us teach and learn. Our society is not responding, we need to help each other.

  • You have a gift of connecting facts I already know and articulating the result into something I can understand easily. I haven't found a video of yours I didn't at least mostly agree with, and even the iffy ones were damn good and well thought out.

  • Well said. The song that says it all is Lennon's 'Working Class Hero'.

  • At one point in the vid I was reminded of something said by Ben Fulford, which I think is key. "Our present financial system is an illusion placed between humanity and reality." Finance at it's root is nothing but a plan for the future. Since our present system borrows from the future works of our children, at interest, it is safe to say that the present financial system is a plan to destroy our future. Feelings of rage are being suppressed throughout, since the system is so pervasive. Yes.

  • great thought.

  • This is a such an awesome and original point, once again bravo proteanview!

  • This is so true

  • it's simple, bad is bad.

  • Silly false prophets and false sages and false wisdoms. Time though a construct of man, exist without regard to man's ideal. Why? The world we live in seems complicated when it is simple and overcomplicated with emotions. Humans are balanced by greed and self preservation. Simply, document what you want but you aren't a pro...say what you will but your opinion is poorly considered and criticize what you must but you are far removed from your leagues and you don't even know it. Start there!

  • You though flies in the face of logic sir. All these things you speak of are in fact human made, thus quite human and if they occur on a regular basis they would in fact be normal, thus the definition.

What you are experiencing in called denial. The fact is humans are a nasty self-centered species. Christ spoke of your principles yet it is now NOT NORMAL to worship him? Why is that?

Man is the essense of evil, without him it does not exist. This is the unfortunate truth.

    Make sense now?

  • Who do you think you are trying to tell us how our brain is supposed to work? Everyones "brain" is different. If you dont like the bank dont put your money into it. Dont want an education? (and not everyone does) Work your way up the latter.Insead of tryin to analyze all the way we do things wrong, why dont you try to tell us how to fix this problem? Unless you want to go back to the stone age I suggest accepting your way of life(which you seem to be doing well in)or live in denial.Popcorn LOL!

  • Agreed ! Wow, and I thought i was the (only) "crazy one" that thought something was wrong with "our" system and Culture (which is sooooo full of shit and excess garbage).

"Marketed as Normal" and if one doesn't agree, if one rejects the "normal" system, it is one that is un-normal, "crazy", "insane", "depressed"

    Sedated/Exploited Sheeples.

  • Housing prices are set by the market. there were plenty of people railing for years about the 'substandard mortgage' crisis-to-come. I've been seeing articles on this for years, with the thought that when these people default, there will be a glut of houses on the market, driving down prices.

It's tragic for all the people involved, but it was predictable...lowering of borrowing standards to give more people (even those who could not come up with a down-payment)loans is what precipitated this

  • That was refreshing. Thanks

  • Right on Protean. Do you have a blog? I'd like to hear more of your ideas.

Grateful to see you putting your ideas out there for those of us too hypnotized by our bizarre culture to question it. You can make a difference.

Please keep up the good work!

    Peace

  • BRAVO BRAVO. I APPLAUD YOU, SIR. YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WITH THIS ONE.

Now if EVERY American would see society the way you and I do and acknowledged it and didn't accept it... We'd be a totally different America!

  • I like your "studio"......bwahahahahahahahahahaha!!

  • Love it! More, more....

  • Excellent analogy.

You are right on the mark.

  • Protean, you are on to more than most people are comfortable thinking about. We have grown up in this society and so accept it as normal because it is widespread behavior. Like you touched on buying a house. Okay if I buy a house and pay for it in full, why is it that that house can still be taken from me on some technicality? If it's my property then it is mine correct? This society would say otherwise. I can't type too much here, but I get what you are saying.

  • great video, it made me think in a new way. do you think this state of affairs is due to intentional design or just chance?

  • Is this meant to be a joke?

  • Meant to be a joke? Are you meant to be alive here on planet Earth?

  • Judging from your profile, I see why you think the way you do. Have you ever thought of suicide?

  • How can you judge me by my profile? Do you know me? Obviously not. And yeah I have thought of suicide, but not to the point where I've sat there and plotted to kill myself. Only the occasional "I wanna die" scenarios. Why do you ask?

  • They were saying 'the end of the world is nigh' thousands of years ago. Sure, some things suck, but there's not as much conspiracy about as people with religious or political agendas like to make out - mostly greed, selfishness and corruption. Just like there always has been.

Maybe some of you people should stop whining, and devote some energy to living more positive lives: get out more, exercise, grow food, give blood, do some charity work etc. You'd be amazed how your outlook changes.

  • CAPS LOCK

  • your very right our society is reaching the end of its tether most things are cyclic and already we have lasted far longer than any other republic or democracy. in order to continue on there will be a necessary shake up of our society

  • A great video Sir! So true

  • *Round of applause for this video*

  • Yet another reason why I listen... 5*****

  • Man it's like Thatcher's trickle effect except in reverse. You earn money to give to other people which finds its way back to the top of the pyramid.

Hey Protean, somethings not right, I agree with everything you've said so far.

  • "Civilization is a disease which is often invariably fatal." ~Dean Inge

  • I thought I was the only one who saw thing this way. Thanks for posting :-))

  • Doctors push drugs because it's easier than saying "this country sucks there's not much you can do about it." So they medicate you till you no longer feel unhappy about reality and live in a fantasy world.

  • spot on, bwudda

  • oh my god, i've been thinking about this exact same stuff lately... 100 percent right

  • No.

  • Proteanview is 100% correct about his approaches to Critical Thinking!

  • The leaders in Society are always getting corrupted with power. We want someone who can resist that! Vote Proteanview for president, Because he cares about the human race!

  • Finally something that makes sense! Do you mind if i quote the video info in a bulletin? I want to spread this to anyone that will listen

  • BRAVO! That was the absolute truth. Keep the videos comin. Peace!

  • It's not natural for the brain to pay "on time" for anything, not just a house. Before the mid 1900's, people would actually "save up" to buy a home, or build it themselves!

  • The "war on terror" isn't what it looks like.

The word "terror" comes from the word "terrace" or "terrain"

The "war on terror" is a more like a war on

land and indirectly a war on the mind specifically Islamic minds.

The New World Order is Satan's last plan to rule the world and control us.

Like I said, the goal of the beings ruling this world is still the same.

And for the last time Satan is a real character with a whole bunch of followers.

  • i way expecting this to be bullshit but its not. i never realy thought about it that far outside the box despite being somewhat of an anarchist/old school republican

  • Proteanview for president

  • -brave new world-

    is now.

    turn off the television!!!

  • the best thing to do is drop out of conventional society as much as possible, and ther are ways of minimizing exposure. i won't watch ccn or cspan. i can catch npr on the radio, plus its much more informative without the obnoxious hype. also i won't buy anything i can't pay cash for unless i can use credit to my advantage. there are ways to beat them. its just some people either don't care, are ignorant or both.

  • teach ne your wisdom sensie

  • The most important thing to do is turn off the television. I daresay we're about to see a pretty serious recession, and this might be a way to connect again.

It really is amazing how we've shut out the world, thinking we are informed through television and mainstream news.

We should know better by now.

  • I love the comparison with the popcorn. Your vids are great keep em comin.

  • Very simple...we are hunter gathers by nature...designed to live in small tribes where everyone takes care of each other. This is a very simple connected way of life. But we have advanced too quickly and the Earth is over-populated and that causes stress...and if you live in a megalopolis, then you have mega stress. 2 = 2 = 4...bigger community = bigger stress. We are simply not designed to live on top of each other. So what's the answer...there isn't one. (end of pt 1)

  • part 2) Mankind will not address this issue and will probably self destruct before it realizes that this is absolutely necessary. Mankind will not come together to solve problems and I don't see any chance of that changing. So if you want a happier life...move to a small city, live more simply (do you really need that BMW and that 50" plasma TV), take up camping and gardening...live with less. Ohhh, and turn off the news and politics..we're going to destroy ourselves anyway so it doesn't matter.

  • Why don't you shut the fuck up? It's this defeatist attitude that does nothing for the good of anyone. Time and time again it has been shown that it only takes one man to change the world. If you give up the will to fight then you deserve no place on this planet. We have the capacity to do anything that we want to do. Sure we are in turbulent times, but if we persevere maybe we can move on to our next stage in evolution and be enlightened to what is truly important to the human race.

  • You just made my point. You don't know me or anything about me, yet you get aggressive with me for saying something that you don't agree with. I didn't insult or disparage you personally, but you have no problem doing those things to me. We're doomed because we are you..millions of us..billions of us. Every few generations we chose up sides and kill ea other in great numbers..and now we have thermo-nuclear. 150 million humans died in wars in the last hundred years..we can do that in an hour now.

  • We humans only use 10% or less of our brains. If we can continue to exist and evolve imagine what we could accomplish. Imagine if we could use 50% of our brain, 75% or even 100%! Think of how many long standing questions will be answered. Think of how we could expand into space and colonize the galaxy. I believe we humans are destined for great things, but like I said we are in the most turbulent times. This era is the human race's most difficult trial.

  • Colonize the Galazy huh? Ever heard of E = MC2? Know what that means? It means that matter becomes energy at the speed of light...it a vague Quantum Physics equation but it basically sez that it is pretty much impossible for humans to colonize the Galaxy....and there are more reasons than just that. You've been watching too many movies. Humans are brutal and greedy and we will eventually destroy ourselves....and technology won't save us...it will just speed up our self destruction.

  • That 10% statistic is an urban myth, by the way.

  • You know nothing of Einstein you stupid cunt. Space colonization could be possible via wormhole. Even in Einstein's general theory of relativity it doesn't complete exclude the plausibility of a wormhole.

By the way go kill yourself. You're just a waste of space and sound like you're in a deep depression. Just get it over with and swallow some rat poison.

  • There is no such thing as a worm hole and even if there was, the physics involved in traveling through one would KILL a frail human being. The Earth is straining under the weight of a 6.7 billion human population...which at the current rate will reach around 25 billion in a hundred years. Mayhem will reign long before we reach that number. Ohhh, and there's not much of a future in being relatively stupid and a complete hateful asshole at the same time...wake up.

  • One more thing Dumb-Ass...I'm a male.

  • the point about school, although not emphasized, is in the example of $100 for popcorn. currently the a BA in america is no better than a HS diploma of 50 years ago. and instead of schools address this issue, they tell students to make the most of what they pay for. they say that while they cut more resources and pack more bodies in class rooms. this expanding technology has made it easier for the public to be manipulated. is this a necessary evil of humans living in society?

  • Very good observations!! Read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". It'll give a different perspective on getting out of chasing our own tails. If we stop to think about it, it's awful that we accept this very drone-like way of being... be born, go to school, get in debt and have little time for your loved ones, then die. I hope to break the cycle... one person at a time.

  • It depends on what is important to you. If things, stuff is important then you focus on always striving for the next big paycheck and we placate or desires for simpler things with junk food and mood stabilizers. I have always found a great experience to be the most satisfying thing to me in life. Many times that cost nothing.

  • Cultural diversion- recognize it when you see it. we're told no, we're unimportant, we're peripheral, get a degree, get a job, get a this get a that. And then you're a player. But you don't even want to play in this game, you want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineer that want to turn you into a half-backed moron consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world. where is that at? -TM

  • Obama/proteanview '08 :)

  • You're absolutely right...The new world order has us chasing our tails...Keep us poor, in debt, divided and drugged up...Then we will be easier to control...

  • I love your videos.....Keep putting out messages that make people pay attention to what is REALLY going on! We need more people to pay attention and ask the questions!!!

  • bravo my friend...bravo! you spoke strong and straight to the point...amazing!

  • I absolutely agree!

  • Great video! I really love how you explain yourself. But you get a bit fast and I have to watch you like 2 times just to make sure I heard you right LOL.

  • You should read the same way. Nothing brilliant makes sense unless you go over it more than once.

  • thats true,I learned that trick many years ago.

  • how would you know! have you managed to be in all places at all time.

  • riiight!

  • On a more serious note, I must say I have to agree, particularly about Academia and how there is this continual march toward spending more and more time, and accumulating more and more debt, before we are "ready" to get a "decent living" financially.

This especially gets in the way of various relationships. Rather than forming relationships and bonds; using those bonds to help each other out it is reversed in that we feel the need to be "solid" financially before forming those critical bonds.

  • I like popcorn.

  • Proteanview for PRESIDENT.. An educated black man that sees things the way they really are... He isnt sugar coating and crying CHANGE it takes the whole of the country to change, unfortunatly we don't want it bad enough at the moment.

Thank you, very entertaining and enlightening.

  • I really like your videos.

Can you please use a better microphone. I think you have really interesting videos.

  • Ya I understand all that and i agree but what do we do about the problem???

  • gallegoseroc: I knew you'd be American. Why not contribute instead of looking to be spoon fed both the issues and the answers? Here is a good video for you.

    /watch?v=n03VvKYqBwc

  • I try to contribute all I can and I try to search for the truth but the government knows the busyer we are trying to servive the less more power we'll give to the government. and not alot of people are like me that'll sacrifice everything to go out and change something. I would love to change the way our society works but i can't do it alone

  • I'm not asking to be spoon fed answers i'm really asking what your going to do about it in your own life, I know what i'm doing about it, i've been addressing these issues personally threw out my whole life, I remember as a kid in school the teacher would tell me something (esp in history) that wouldn't make seince to me and i'd be the only one questioning it. I know my brain works and I have a 5 y/o daughter that i try to teach to think for herself. and thats my way of combating the problem

  • (cont.) I was just asking maby out of curiosity to see what you would suggest cuz like you said debate leads to ideas and i wanted to hear yours. if you have some you can feel free to share them we all know the problem now its time to share ideas

  • gallegoseroc: I have a few ideas that most of us have the power to implement. Replace lawns w/ fruits & vegetables (food is free)... barter w/ neighbors for goods/services... ditch video games & give our kids bikes... ditch plans for a Benz & buy solar panels... buy chickens if you can... withdraw all of our money from banks and put it in safe deposits. All of this will mean we spend less money. That is something that always warrants a response. It's a start.

  • what about rend or morgage what about people that don't have lawns big enough to support a farm for them selfs. one person can't change society only society can change society, and your wrong i'm self sufficient i have a garden i don't use credit or banks I do know how to raise and cook animals my grandma taught me and I my daughter doesn't know what video games are really she knows what a swing and a bike and a ball and a slide are. so i guess you misjudged me sir.

  • (cont) I want to know what we can do to get more ppl to do this type of thing. We have to get people to take a step back and actually look whats going on then maby people will see what they are doing to us

  • galleg: You still haven't contributed anything... ;-)

  • This was the first video of your I have watched, and I have to say... wow. Well thought out, and very well said. You've earned a subscriber here. I look forward to watching the rest of your videos!

  • Interesting.

Do you think, you will eventually write.

I envy your ability to articulate.

This kind of stuff bugs me too. You read Freakonmics??????

  • alot of people who take depression pills don't need them. it is a psychological hold on society to think we need to pop a pill to change our lives for the better. sometimes a person can feel there is something wrong all the time but in reality the real problem is the actual thinking that there is something wrong. it manifests like a dog running after it's tail. also, alot of the medication that people take for depression is making alot paychecks that keep the economy going. evil cycle.

  • humans are changing quickly and we do stupid things. take the issue of getting older. we have been taught that beauty and power is external but it is also spiritual and we have lost sight of the spiritual side. we're pretty much processed like kfc. you know what i'm saying?

  • you are talking too fast

  • you are thinking to slow

  • I agree, it would help the presentation, if you could speak a little slower. (Btw. for non-native English speakers, it is especially difficult to keep up with your pace, lol)

  • You are so right about the food...my son was thought to have ADD/ADHD by his teachers and they thought I should have him checked...instead I changed his diet to whole fresh foods(no sugar, no preservatives) and now he's "normal."

  • People... live well within your means

At least half of your time should be doing something you love (under your own free will- paid or unpaid)

Use your own brain for independent judgement and analysis

Do not succumb to the will of the powerful, ignorant, or majority

And perhaps most important ...do not be controlled by fear (it's a tool being used a lot these days by the "wealthy rulers" of our planet ... in order to remain in total political and socio-economic power)

  • Good video.

But I must say- of course it's unnatural. Civilization is itself unnatural. And there's not really anything you can do about it- you've got the choice to be happy or unhappy. It is what it is, and it's up to you what you make of it. If you let society turn you unhappy, you're just another tragedy- don't let yourself become that. This is something I deal with every day.

    Cheers.

  • Just a suggestion! I really like to hear your thoughts...but sometimes you rush through your thoughts so fast, it's hard to catch everything you say! Breathe! :) There's no rush!

  • Very good points! What you are saying makes a lot of sense. Common sense in society is no longer common, right? It's like it has taken and rebranded with a nice big 'UN' in front of it. It's like you are required to adopt and internalise ill-logic in order to see things as logical. It's all backwards....something truly is not right!

  • hmm, why this reminds me of Adam Curtis' documentary 'The Trap'? lucky coincident or one influenced the other?

and was Isaiah Berlin right or wrong stating: "all attempts to change the world for the better lead to tyranny"?

  • very true! im very well read and learned on this subject aswell!

  • So do you reccomend a raw diet macrobiotic thing only?

  • Still, on a literal level people , at least in the west are healthier today than 100 years ago. Dentristy, knowledge of fats etc. But , there is something wrong with society, some things are obvious, but the solution is hard to see, which for me is when u get an impression that something is wrong.

  • i tell people these things all the time. they reply with things like "that's the world" or "what can we do?". then when i suggest alternatives, it's almost as if the didn't hear me or don't believe.

  • Q4Knowledge: Seems like so many prefer feeling good to acknowledging the elephant in the room. I see folks going through mental gymnastics trying to prove that our votes count and that the Iraq war is just. They'll make one excuse for 10 points. What they don't realize is excuses for excuses unveils a desperation itself. Some of us confront them, others concoct comfortable but desperate excuses to deal with them. They know. They live it and witness it no matter how good life is personally.

  • Well said

    IB

  • Excellent video, and well spoken. You have a lot on your mind that many people probably also think about daily. People feel this invisible pressure to act "normal," to cope with society, and if they don't, they're abnormal and need to be treated as such. Who IS normal? Lawyers? Bankers? Politicians? Rubbish. We PEOPLE are normal, and we're doing the best we can in a world that presents obstacles as often as it hides opportunity.

    Thanks again for your thoughts.

  • and yet one other thing, i do NOT get, scared of him because of color? what, now that doesn't compute in my brain, one thing my father did right...Color Means NOTTA period!

  • i was trying to say something similar, of course in a duh way cause the words weren't flowing and "the PreSSure was On"...just a few days ago...yep...sigh...

another thing, so we all don't "adjust" so we go to the lovely doc, he of course assisting drug co's., writes a script, we then pay the $, etc... on and on it goes if i am making sense... YEP, i hear u... AGAIN, we have ONE messed up world and adjusting to ALL is a Bi*&h...take care my friend

    *trio

  • Hey Pro! Hang in there. I get the message. People are just misunderstanding you. Must be all of the episodes of American Idol warping their brains. I do my best to try to eat healthy. One thing I always try to do is to eat Mom and Pop kinda places. You should do a video on paper money. That would be a great topic.

  • henrydaVII, that is not nice of you to say that, this guy has allot of interesting topics.
