  • the problem with your face is that the mirror is over the sub surfing so blender subdivids your mesh and then mirrors it press the arrow key to move your sub surface modifire above your mirror

  • this is even worse than toaster O_O

  • Thxs for the blender tutorials, from the past but they are stil useful

  • Gonna like this, i appreciate goal oriented people these days.

  • edit your videos so you dont have that big mistake in it please.

  • How do you render Radiosity?

  • @Snowshread3r1282 Nevermind lol

  • mine just wont emit

it does what happened on your first try

  • YAYYYY!!! THANK U SO MUCH, (the emit button was what i need) :D

  • mine doesn't emit at all, so what should i do?

  • if you want to mirror you should set the points to the 0 axis one straight line

  • mirror crease line made by a threshold value in the modifier- adjust it to stop verts beyond centre from merging. this post is old but i just mention anyway. aslo re-position mesh centre to match middle of face (via edit select a vert, curser to, object, centre to curser. if its when you 'subsurf, its because you have not applied the modifier'- the edges are being rounded of making the crease, unless the center faces are facing flat-forward, yours look slanted back like rooftop

  • unsubscribe fred

  • tutorial start at 1:26

  • omg this is precious... a video from 50 years ago.

  • apply the mirror and get rid of doubles for the face

  • 19500 views :D

  • well nice try but didnt work

  • Next time, use something called 'video editor' and crop out the parts you messed up the procedure.

Maybe this way you'll start getting more views and stuff.

  • how do you size up the default cube

  • @theskaneesh press S and then u can control its size

  • how about fluid?

  • GO to editing editor and move the edges together, and activate clipping.

  • To the line problem: try turning on auto smooth and adding an edge split modifier.

  • it's called "glow"

  • my computer is fast as hell now

  • Nice, thanks.

  • That is massively slow rendering at the end O_o

  • This isn't working for me... i used your tutorial exactly, but it isn't working! I tried everything, but it only renders as a red square.

  • This isn't working for me. I followed your instructions exactly, and it doesn't render out as anything except a red cube.

  • why didnt you edit out your failure

  • i know what happened with that face^^ i gues you used do cliping and got the second line of verticies too close to the mirror so it jumped to the center between the mesh and the mirror thats why those lines appear i gues in this case you could lower the merge limit and in sculpt mode smooth it down if that doesn't work send me a message (sry for my english i'm german ^^`)

  • thanks

  • continuing on if you have the subsurf above the mirror modifier it puts the subsurf effects before the mirror effects there fore you have your problem fixed if you put the mirror modifier above the subsurf and the miror will take action and you will have a nice clean mesh

  • I know what the problem with the lips is, well probably did you put the sub surf modifier above the mirror modifier in the editing panel if you used subsurf comment back if this helps.

  • help! when i click OK, the objects go black

  • @LuiDeca maybe you haven't select the cube's and the plane to

  • i have selected them

  • oh i know forget it xD

  • sorry im new and i have a prblem..i can do a bunch of stuff but i donno how to select all material xD how do i do that?

  • The line in the mirrored face can have multiple reasons, you already checked the subsurf, so maybe the verts at the rim arent all in one Plane. e.g. select all verts that are supposed to be the mirror edge, if modelling in front view press s->x->0 then SHIFT s -> Cursor to selection then Editing: center cursor. Because the mirror will be applied at the object's center.

Also if you put the clipping too high, you can end up with artifacts.

  • Looks like you sculpted while the mirror modifier was on. Make mirror real then sculpt

  • sloppy but thanks!

  • u could have used undo when u messed up

  • To get rid of the lines, subdevide it and then while in edit mode press CTRL+N at the same time.

  • Gour is short for Gouraud shading. Solid is flat shading, Gour is a type of smooth shading, blends all the vertex colors together to make things look more real.

  • This is realy good :) jw if you delete the cube will the radiation disapeer? so like your left with a glowon the floor and no cube. that would be cool :) thanks again and ill keep watching (y) :) and im gonna start posting some things ive done with your help :) cya, C-J

  • Err I cant Get it to Work :(

  • your pretty good ill Sub :D

  • you just hit k in edit mode select loop cut and scroll up and click on the error u just made and drag the points

  • yoda

  • lol

  • think not 2.48 blender version i have

  • get a real microphone.

  • i followed you exact, and the plane isnt glowing

  • The line appears because you aren't level with the plane across the face. You are modeling half the face and where the mirror image is applied it's at a slight angle. When the mirror is applied the slight angle is reversed for the new side and you see the line. Model half the face but where it meets must smooth out to a straight plane scross the meeting mirror point.

    Neo

  • how come when i do everything and then hit "go" the cube glows, but there is no light reflecting off the plane? please help i cannot figure out what i did wrong!

  • grab all the verts down the middle and scale them together. select all the verts and hit ctl+n. see if that helps

  • lol to fix the lines subsurf it rofl

  • the problems start to become extremely visable when I subsurf it. which was really annoying, but I lost the file in my other computer so don't worry about it :)

  • you just apply the modifier

  • @Blender3danimator look at StupidIdeasIncorp's comment.

  • @BLUYES422

i think he did sub surf it, what you need to do is around the mouth and around the eyes do (alt+left click) and do (Shift+E) and that will fix that, for the seam in the center, make sure that (Do clipping) is on in the mirror modifyer and you may have to do some tweaking, hope it helped. visit my channel, you might get some good ideas for future builds.

  • @BLUYES422 Subsurfing it is what causes the line... you need to recalculate the normals...

  • your great at this, subscribed :D

  • thanks :D

  • how did you fix 2:58 problem?

  • Comment removed

  • I still don't know how to render radiosity! I keep trying to find tutorials, but there aren't any!

  • Did you turn on radio in the render buttons?

  • um, I say how to in here! So why don't you watch the whole tutorial....

  • Dude, you're watching a tutorial video right now. How can you possibly justify the comment "there aren't any"?

  • With the mirror modifyer, click on "Do Clipping" And put your merge limit down to zero. I think that might fix your mirror issues.

  • its not working..

  • well I can't really help you, I can't just figure out what part is going wrong for you pal, sorry bout that :) hope you can fix it somehow. Check out agent47crows's tutorial in the related videos :)

  • You did good. Thank you for the help. I need a tutorial on sample of all the fields in Blender.

  • Thanks for the compliment and the comment. You need a sample of all fields in blender in one tutorial you mean, or are you going to look at the tutorials I have already made. If you need me to, I can make a small vid for you, depending on when you need it. :D

  • thanks....good job...thanks

  • No problem :D

  • I fought that Radiocity makes light rays bounce about the scene, reflecting light and color-not just making stuff glow. Then what does make light rays, emited from a lamp, reflect from stuff?

  • Radiosity does make light rays bounce about the scene, reflecting light and color-not just making stuff glow, Lamps are slightly different, I'm not exactly sure what is different, watch some radiosity videos and then some lighting ones, see how they compare :)

  • Yes!I see it,thanks for the tutorial:)

  • haha, no problem dude :D

  • how do you render the radiosity ? Whats radiosity for? make meshes emit light?

  • I forget exactly how to render radiosity, I think I mention how to do it somewhere in the tutorial but I forget. Radiosity is basically to make meshes emit light.

  • after you "collect meshes" and click "go" go and click "replace meshes" under "collect meshes" but make sure its after you have collected the meshes and click go

  • thanks, I forgot because I haven't been doing blender stuff in the past few weeks lol

  • nice channel

  • Please forget word "pretty". You say it at least five times in a sentence.

  • Yea, I should say something like relatively good instead of pretty good.

  • OK. The tutorial is pretty good.

  • Thanks :)

  • hey! i saw me ;)

  • Haha, no prob =D

  • radiosity is cool. I've used it in Maya but not Blender yet. * * * * * from gyrocam.

  • thanks, glad you liked it :D

  • I pressed clipping in the mirror, not the subsurf, and I applied the subsurf after the mirror

  • did u press do clipping in subsurf or it might be that u applied subsurf before mirror?
