  • That dude could play bass better than anyone ive seen 14 years ago now look at him!

  • what have these guys to do with guy laliberte? (no tire kickers or space cadets) serious inquiries only.

  • It's very annoying when your trying to watch a great drum solo and the guy filming is taking the shot off the drummer, to watch Holdsworth do nothing. Whats up with that? Makes no sense. must be a guitar player who doesn't really appreciate a drum solo like his hero AH does.

  • Too bad Alan Pasqua wasn't with them too. That would have made it ideal.

  • Jimmy Johnson!!!!

  • how the hell do you play this song holdsworth is the weakness to my ear

  • I saw the same trio in montreal september 2009 it was awsome , Allan always have been one of my top.Remember me good time thanks for posting !!!

  • damn this dude Gary is very talented

  • @alembicbassguy Chad Wackerman? You mean the guy who stole Husband's style and made a living off it?

  • @gmdinformation I'll actually take this one on the chin & stand corrected. Gary blew me away when I saw him playing with Allan - one of the best live performances by a drummer I have ever seen, and yes...better than Chad.

He is wasted on L42 imho.

  • Gary and Allan = match made in heaven. They compliment each other so well.

  • Best shit ever,,,Period..

  • I really like how Holdsworth fans such as myself really appreciate music and can't live without Holdsworth playing the most heavenly chords, husband playing amazing drum phrases and Jimmy playing the bass like a god.

This is the best trio over!!!

  • Right on Brother, Hes been my fave for years, most people i tell though havent heard of him, i am spreading the word, Allan will Rise again!!!

  • I was meant to say, "best trio ever" in the previous comment not "over" ha.

I am spreading the word too.

3 people i have met in my life have heard of Holdsworth and 2 of them thought badly of holdsworth but finally my music teacher thinks Allan is a god, just like i do.

It does not matter about other people's opinions i think as long as i have the gift of knowing who he is, it doesn't matter how well know Holdsworth is.

I can't go a day without listening to Holdsworth.

  • Absolutely, Wise words my friend, no one produces the colour and textures that his band does, Amazing

  • Johnson with his 10000 dollar bass freaks me out. So awesome legendary guys...

  • holy moly Gary Husband is a such a superior drummer than Chad Wackerman. what's really weird is that CW actually can play much more tasteful and subtle, you can here it on some of Zappa's stuff. GH is a richer player, not as "rock" and all the better for it

  • @prinznevsky Why are you comparing two iconic players as though it's a sport? In order for any musician to play with Holdsworth, you'd have to be one of the best in the world, period. So stop comparing and start practicing. Maybe Allan will give you a shot in your next life! LOL

  • I think Jimmy Johnson is the world's most subtle and musically intelligent bass player. Every single note he plays is spot on and a 100% effective. As long as I've known him I've always phrased his bass playing as "music of angels".

His Alembic bass is awesome! It fits him like a glove. Jimmy Johnson was actually the first one ever to play an electric five string bass with a low B, custom built for him in 1976 by the Alembic Company.
