After looking at Blomkamp´s work i am getting more confident with the Halo movie. Neil Blomkamp seems to have amazing skills at using CGI and creating a truly compelling visual style. I could easily imagine Joburg being New Mombasa.

This guy is the perfect man for a Halo movie, because, let's face it, if someone like Spielberg, George Lucas, or Michael Bay directed it, it would be too Hollywood and they'd effectively ruin it. I agree. Just look at some video game turned movie, final fantasy, doom, and even resident evil. All hollywood video game movie trash. If they stay with the storyline, halo will be a good movie

All those complaining about Blomkamp being director for Halo are complete spackers. Seriously, what the fuck? Considering how he's made such a poignant and epic film spanning six minutes, with effects fantastic for such a small budget (think what he will be capable of with Weta Digital behind him) I don't see where you're coming from. The man is awesome. Can't think of a better man for the job of breaking the tradition of game-based films and making Halo into, y'know, a good film.
For a six minute trailer, it had more of a plot and story, than some movies I've seen. Halo got the right man to direct the movie. He's also done another short film called "Yellow"

His talents are worth more than Halo... He should've chose somethin better than directing something originated from a game... but he'll make it a good movie with this obviously amazing talent... he seems like a helluva director and the effects on this film are extremely realistic
The action sequence with the mech with superpowers vs two operatives had a very Halo feel to it, you people are crazy. He has a slick action style using wide shots , not stupid close up shaky camera garbage.
