  • Findlay is one of the best teachers I've ever had the pleasure of learning from...

  • Dude, he's still ALIVE! No Obits here please! LOL

  • @NoNoBackdoorJP I didn't say he was dead.... I simply meant that I had him in a class and he is one of the best teachers I've ever had....

  • @ferbicus Cool! Whenever I hear "one of the best ______ I've ever had the pleasure of ; ________ (learning from, knowing, meeting, etc)", it's usually about a person who passed away. Sorry 'bout dat.

  • He gets a swinging-good-feeling-sound out of that Heritage guitar, alright.

  • Yes He Does! You may already know that most PLAYAS have more than one, depending on the sound and tone they need to generate.

  • i just got a tab book by jamie findlay playing jazz standards.

    thanks for upload,awesome player.

  • @armanpour335 Just to let you know, Jamie is a REAL NICE GUY! Again, I repeat, Jamie is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet! If you have any interpretation or other questions, he's NOT like Beethoven (dead and deaf), I'm sure he will correspond with you about them. If you're in the OC, you can come to Cal Poly and ask him directly. BTW, Dr. Dave Kopplin and the ZacMan are equally nice guys. If you can't reach Jamie, Dr. Dave or the ZacMan can help.

  • Long live heritage guitar.Top quality guitars made in KALAMAZOO,MICHIGAN. Check out their new REVAMPED Website!!!!!

  • Great Axes BUT remember the old Cowboy proverb, "it's not the Arrow but the Indian".

  • Bravo Jamie, you play with your heart.

  • He's so good that he can play with any body part he wants to (sic). Just a little attempt at humor.

  • Sounds great Jamie! Your solos are always so heartfelt. Great to see you play again. I missed hearing you since being at MI this past year.

  • You should watch the other Cal Poly Jazz Band-Jamie Findlay video posted. You will probably recognize his Marie-Theo piece as his many other fans did.

  • BTW, if you have any "Juice" with Jamie, ask him to put some of the LA Jazz stuff up.

  • wow, the same day i find out that zac teaches at cal poly is the same day i see this!

god dayum that bass solo was friggin awesome.

and that Jamie Findlay sure knows his way around a guitar man, that was sweeet.

  • Remember that the Trio are all long-time friends and all 3 are or have been working Professionals. The Spring 2009 show had all sorts of new Twists to it and I encourage you to watch for the Videos yet to come (sounds like Dickens' Christmas Carol). Great Brass "Riding Over the Top", Great Balance, and, of course, Great Vocal work.

BTW, if you plan to attend the Fall Show, make sure you get there early or pre-purchase a ticket. Otherwise, you'll have to listen to it all from lobby!
