Wait! That rythme beat sample he use in 0:52 is taked from one of his previous works, before his Oxygene album. I think the song is called "Erosmachine".
Lech Walesa is more or less the "Martin Luther King Jr." of the struggle against socialism. Jean Michel Jarre has got to have some serious cajones to be a Frenchman honoring someone like that. Hat's off to both of them.
@IzayoiArwena - piosenka to utwór muzyczny z wokalem, czyli przeważnie i z tekstem.
His faces are that of passion and win forever. Indigo level of consciousness channeled into Blue into green into yellow into orange into red. Perfection. A fantasy. The thing we are SUPPOSED to do: to CREATE CONSCIOUSLY AND WITH FREE/PASSION!!!!!!!! Our effects are multidimensional. The astral net veil will be lifted in 2012. This music proves it to me. People actually agree with me. People have supernatural experiences irregardless of the belief systems of others.
Dla J.M.J. Zawieszony pomiędzy niebem a ziemią, opromieniony Boga blaskiem, skupiony i zaczarowany , oddany temu co robisz, Ty twórz i graj zawsze muzykę, tę, zza światów, co brzmi jak pieśni Aniołów. Twoja muzyka odrywa mnie od ziemi, od jej zbutwiałych korzeni. Pozwala mi znów fruwać. Pozwala mi wolność odczuwać. Sprawia, że wiem kim jestem. Dziękuję Bogu za to, że Ciebie stworzył. Za to, że z nami jesteś!
LOL, the guitarrist has the the same look in the 93... the same hair, the same glasses, the same clothes and the same guitar!!! I think JMJ take him from a cryostasis capsule every concert... haahahha (maybe JMJ itself do this, has 60 years and look very young, amazing).
Charpentier rencontre Vangelis, qui eux rencontrent Van Halen... Jean-Michel Jarre. Magnifique, Envoûtant. Inspirant. Musique à faire l'amour avec une galaxie.

Listen everybody my dad loves jean michel jarre very much. he cant find a song... if you know a song where there is a train or metro leaving with the doors closing like tssssshhhhh if you know the song please comment!!!!!!
I think you are refering to the album "Magnetic Fields". Between Magnetic Fields 3 and 4 is a train and you here doors. So listen to that album. It's a nice album.
Also the album "The concerts in China" has some great live versions of Magnetic Fields.
I said, as a comment to another video, that there are a few tracks that rendered me speechless with tears on first hearing them. Astradyne by Ultravox, the Prophecy track by Brian Eno for Dune, JMJ's Rendez Vous 2 and Vangelis' Cosmos rank among these. This ... is another.
Bloody hell, someone actually commented on my comment! (Er...) To give a bit of credental there maybe areas where JMJ has to lipsync because of the complexity of his songs, but not all of his music is entirely playback.
So for example the bells in overture? Held a key down on a synth to make that sound on a loop. Still doing it, but nontheless playback.
Who care if it is playback or not. Me do not cause im in for the music, not if his lips movements is synced on a video which by technical reasons might not be synced with the audio anyway
These are the best songs of Jarre . I don't like his songs of 2007 ,because they are not so good and they have not got something special like his older songs
Ditto - But this might be because we are so used to his played-back lip-synced performaces of the 70s 80s and 90s. After Jarre realised that people noticed he was using lip-syncing, he started playing properly... Sorry JMJ fans!
But this is far better because he is not only playing, but he also has the power of an orchestra in the power of his hand. Brilliant!
And second, of course it is playback. This is what JMCs music is all aboute ;) resampling, electronic files phussed as bits and bytes into your ears. Relax and enjoy the stuff!
You don't fake a violine on stage. They are playing for real, but yes, in some cases it is fully acknowledged using playback AFAIC since it is the music and the performance that is interesting. This gives me as an visitor the best possible experience. When standing in front of the sceen things may not become so obvious as when looking to a close up video. However, still I have no reason to NOT beleive performance is in realtime. Always remember the good old "video out of sync" issues.
Jean Michel cannot concentrate enough when there are 170.000 people clapping hands out of tempo (because most don't know the songs before the show) and yelling his name to him at the same time. Very few people experienced that sort of feeling before him. He has to stay tuned, get the orchestra and the electric guitar working together.
Plus he has to focus time to time on the camera. This my point: It's perfectely understandable he uses pre-recorded devices to garantee the quality of the music.
that my friend has pretty much nailed it. To be able to play for 2 hours with the complexity of his music, the ability to waver and control a orchestra is just fantastic, camera crews broadcasting all over the world, and 170,000 people cheering him on, a quire, AND he has to focus on his music too. ALL LIVE!
Just wondering if someone can help me a bit here. First heard this at the MEN concert this year and for some reason I had the feeling I had heard the main part of the tune somewhere before but with vocals as part of a song? Anyone any ideas?
I wonder if anyone else here thinks Michael Jackson may have tried to copy JMJ's look- the hair, the fine features, the stylish shirts ... just an observation, no disrespect meant towards MJ.
JMJ is a musician. I neve seen Beethoven to play AL the instruments in an orchestra in order to play his own symphonies ... so please stop with "illiteracy" in music ...and start to appreciate this artist, instead of to invidiate him ;)
JMJ is a composer. Therefore, like Beethoven, Bach etc. he uses other people to play various parts for him, but he also plays parts himself and also programs the midi sequences and arpeggios, which are the "playback" bits if you can call them that!
Somebody says that Jarre uses some pre-recorded tracks and people understand that all tracks are playback. Of course, Jarre is not an octopus to play himself all tracks. Then, he uses an instrument called sequencer wich cant be played without having prepared sequences. And, of course, he uses to play the most important tracks of his songs, how the hell can someone say that he uses play-back on this movie? Don't say anything if not sure and watch the entire movie before making comments.
His concerts aren't playback, why would he have another man on different synths behind him, a symphony orchestra and a guitarist with him? I've both seen and heard him play the wrong notes too on other songs. Gotta be damn good to play wrong on playback :P Some of the sounds are played by his analogue synths by pressing and turning different buttons.
tv-appearances are usually always playback, but that goes for everybody.
great vid, i don't think there's any playback in it, but what do you call playback in electronic music... (: gotta love Patrick Rondat and his guitar playing!
Has nobody here actually heard of MIDI and MIDI Sequencing FFS.......With a piece as complex as any of JMJ's with multiple synth lines/effects of course they're not going to be able to play every synth line, rhythm or effect. After saying that, the whole piece has to be 'composed' ie someone has to play or program the sequencers to play the specific musical progression. FFS i was doing MIDI sequencing etc back in the late 80's on BBC B's!!! But you can bet your ass this ISNT coming from a CD!!
It's VERY rare that a live JMJ song beats the original version. In my opinion the best live versions of his classics, and where he manages to outdo some of the original ones, is on the "Hong Kong" album.
Version is best, yes, but i agree that sound is bad, indeed. Seems that it has been gone through a peak filter, like if someone is turning down volume in midsong. Awfully done to such a master piece.

Where's the throbbing kick beat in the background?? This song just isn't complete without it, in my opinion!

Thousands of thumbs up on that.
It's VERY rare that a live JMJ song beats the original version. In my opinion the best live versions of his classics, and where he manages to outdo some of the original ones, is on the "Hong Kong" album.

Always put an &fmt=18 at the end video URLs, this song sounds especially bad without High Quality, but amazing with it.

Best, the sound is bad, i missed very much sound!

Version is best, yes, but i agree that sound is bad, indeed. Seems that it has been gone through a peak filter, like if someone is turning down volume in midsong. Awfully done to such a master piece.

Bad sound from Jarres synthesizer! :o !!

Good looks?? Hm.. I think he sorta looks like a mad professor... Half expecting Igor to show up behind him :)
Best electronic music there is though :)

That 'mad professor' idea reminds me of the Zoolook music video! He kind of looks like a mad professor type in that :D
