Gogarty's is a great pub IF you want to be certain of hearing music every night and lunch time. The place is usually packed - so unless you turn up early, you'll be standing and won't see much of the band.

When in Dublin, I prefer searching out the pubs that are not so well known to tourists and the music is more informal (see the microphone stand on the right of this clip).

Search for O'Donoghues Pub - where The Dubliners started their careers.
