It's splitting hairs. All the major religions all generally believe in 1 God, and all basically follow the same book. Some sects focus on certain prophets more than others, that's all it is. In the grand scheme it's all the same thing. Everywhere in the world has their own local culture and variance who really cares it's still the same thing in a different color.

Hi everyone, unfortunately people are still using terminologies such as sunnies and shias to classify themselves as a particular type of Muslim, even from the comments below, Muslims are asking each other which sect they are from, which is better and why. We should throw all these sect names out and just be Muslim. If they're differences in opinion about what the Quran says then keep the opinions for yourself and ask for guidance. @Yardeemc Lollll, I know all of that xP One of my best friends is Shia and his dad is actually a Sheikh, I talked to him once but his English sucks and my Arabic is only fus7a so we didn't get into much. He did clear that up though, I know that shias on the correct Shia path do not believe in a different Quran and all that. Those people are different groups, but the Sunnis only say that they are Shia because if you ask those people what are they, they say "Shia."

- Basically the prophet told us that there will be 12 imams after him and the last one would be the Mahdi. (hadiths in sunni as shia books)

- We do what Muhammad pbuh told us and follow the 12 righteous imams instead of only 4 like other sects do.

-The biggest mistake shia make is that they actually call themselves Shia instead of Muslims.
