  • slaughter it

  • built for speed

  • I've been begging my parents for a capybara!

  • como lo consiquieron?

  • I love Capybaras xD I think they're just sooo cute!

  • How do dogs who walk past him/her react to your capy?

  • @Ozzi4Japan Most dogs are curious, some are frightened, very few are aggressive.

  • If you took this for a walk around town people would be like what the fuuuuuck? haha

  • I heard that Caplin Rous can run 45 mph and that they eat maggots, very often, usually while being nice to another man, or maybe giving a flower to a nurse?

  • are you alowed to have one as a pet

  • @chrismattash It depends on where you live whether it is legal to have a capybara as a pet.

  • @caplincapybara WHAT ABOUT THE US

  • Do they pull as hard as a dog?

  • @PCpaste They can pull harder than dogs because they are more compact. At least that's what I think. But they won't pull for as long.

  • they really look like guinea pigs!!! the only diff is their size

  • He looks so funny running! Just imagine a flying one...

    Wow....

  • I feel like they are smarter than dogs...

  • you should take him intopetsmart like people do dogs. That would be a site

  • I just love all your videos.

  • how often does it bite?

  • @krononomikon if their anything like guinea pigs not often. My guinea pig I have had for 5 years hasn't bitten me. Every once in a while she'll nibble but its light and it doesn't hurt. She loves to give kisses though.

  • As a guinea-pig owner, I do love capybara as well, but I find it difficult to understand how anyone would think its fair to keep a wild animal as a pet. So be it, people keep snakes and birds and insects as pets, but its encouraging the ignorant to think its ok. Wild animals, whether they were born in captivity or not, should be left as wild animals and be treated as so. So many people neglect dogs and cats, what happens to these wild animals when their owners novelty wears off? It's quite sad.

  • does it have a giant hamster wheel?

  • I wonder what the top speed of a capybara is

  • if i saw that in the street id fall over and die of the cuteness

  • Oh wow the complete opposite of my dog. When i ask him to go for a walk all hell breaks loose and when i say wanna go home he puts his head down and walks as slow as possible lol ^.^

  • where can you buy capybaras?

  • @pkpaulkersey You can read Caplin's blog for information on where to get a pet capybara and what it is like to keep one. Capybaras are *not* the right pet for everyone. The blog URL is on the channel page and at the end of all his videos.

  • @pkpaulkersey

    Don't buy animals: adopt!

In you country you have many cats, dogs, rabbit, etc, need love and a family.

Purchased animals suffer for the transport, on farms suffer selections, those "bad" are killed and the females are used for procreation to death...

  • I would love to own a capybara!

  • cute cute cute!!!!!

  • Nice one !!! Here in South Africa we keep also Capybara's also for consuming. We only tried grilled Capybara but also heard you can cook them. Can you advise the best way how to eat them?

  • I almost pooped my pants i laughed so hard

  • I am a Venezuelan who lives in New Mexico and I wish I could have a Capibara (Chiguire for me). They are not just cool but also friendly. Sadly I don't have a house with a big backyard or a pool. By the way, what do you do with the capibara in winter? doesn't he get cold?

  • Whoa.. are these things smart as dogs and can you actually own one in the U.S

  • @beagleboy547 Depends on where you live whether they are legal or not and whether you might need a permit.. Caplin is at least as smart as a dog and knows a lot more tricks than most.

  • you must be rely bored...

  • @caplincapybara do you know if you can own one in Houston Texas. thank you

    .

  • You should bring him around town for a walk with the dog owners acting casually and see their reactions. It would be hilarious.

  • I do take Caplin around town. He goes all over with me and always draws a crowd. Actually, I can't take him if I'm in a hurry because a) he's slow and b) we have to stop to answer too many questions. But it is great to see people's reactions to him. Most people love him.

  • my pet chimpanzee loves walks he is trusted to walk without a harness but if he hears a dog bark or something you have to hold his hand tightly he is only 2 yrs old. he is very cute.

  • hahaha my dog would just love this thing

  • Your pet is adorable, I want one of those. They seem like they can be very like dogs. Mans best friend please? Lol.

  • Is he toilet trained?

  • Yes, Caplin is "toilet trained." He actually uses a bowl of water next to the toilet. The FACute on his blog has more information about him. The URL is in the video and the video description.

  • wow, hes a great guy! After having him as a pet would you ever have another?

  • I would but probably not at the same time. He is very demanding. And I would not recommend a capybara for many people. It takes a lot of work to keep an exotic pet.

  • Where does he sleep? is there a video of that?

  • I have several beds for him around the house, including on the windowseat next to my computer. At night he likes to sleep under the covers with us or on the floor next to the bed.

  • Do people ever stop you on the street to ask, "What kind of dog is that?"

  • Rarely, but it does happen. A lot more often people say they thought he was a dog at first but when they looked closer were shocked to see he wasn't.

On woman insisted he was a guinea pig that had been irradiated.

  • Haha, was he rescued? I don't thing Capybaras are common in animal shelters.

  • do you ever snuggle with him?

considering he IS a rodent, lol.

  • I snuggle with him as much as possible, which is not nearly as much as I would like. He's pretty independent. But he will come and sit in my lap when the mood strikes him.

  • i heard that if capybaras dont live in groups, they become depressed, suicidal, and agressive.. is this true?! and if so do you only have one capybara? 0.o

  • I am not sure I believe animals ever become suicidal. At any rate, Caplin seems pretty happy. He has his rabbit friend, Maple, to play with. And his humans. And the tortoises, who pester him more than anything.

  • thats pretty cool omg i a turtle, rabbit, and cabybara? thats so badass

  • I love Caplin!! Love all his videos, can't get enuogh of him!! Keep the Caplin videos coming! =)

  • Is it banned to have them as pets? if so why?

    Thanks

  • The legality of pet capybaras in the US depends on your location. Some states or municipalities have laws restricting what animals can be kept by private individuals. Caplin lives in Texas in a semi-rural area where things are pretty lenient.

  • i saw u on a tv show

  • 1. where do you live that allows you to have those

    2. where did you get him

    i love him though!

  • We live in Texas, the state of lawlessness. But really, some states are too restrictive. Nothing wrong with having a pet capybara.

I can't post any links in a comment because YouTube is dumb so if you visit my channel home page you can see where I got him.

  • You should be proud of that rodent. Its grand.

  • jesus christ look at the size of that guinea pig!

lol i know what it actually is. :]

  • they are family of the guinea pig :)

  • ive never seen a pet capybara before,,,, Ur soooo lucky,,,,,, Why do u have him any way?...... where did u get him?,,,, srry about all the questions

  • Caplin is just a pet. We got him from some people in East Texas who have his parents. You can read more about him on his channel page.

  • run caplin run!!!

  • I love watching Caplin! Im glad he has such a great owner and lots of places to play. You must really love him to deal with those toe nails. Theres gotta be a better way cuz that dremal tool just wasnt cutting it (pun intended

  • lol

  • Ha! I love that he paused to regard the green compost/recycling bin.

  • Love this little guy!
