I used to own BMW and I had to bring in for services every years. I got piss off and traded in for Lexus and love it. I still have it for five years now, and never had to bring in for services for break down parts.

Anyone who thinks an IS 350 is faster than a 335i obviously hasn't driven both cars.They weigh the same and the 335i has nearly 30+ more ft. lbs. of torque. If you look at actual power put to the ground the difference between the underrated N54 and Lexus' V6 grows even wider. A competent driver will take the IS 350, ESPECIALLY after 100+ MPH every single time. And using twin turbos doesn't make it inferior somehow, they're what make the 335i faster AND get 30+ MPG on the freeway.

And it does make it inferior, becuase BMW pretty much said oh shit!!! how are we going to produce that much horsepower to keep up with the Lex. Oh lets just throw a turbo on it instead of engineering something great. And those turbos are definitaly inferior. I talked to the local BMW service department here in California and they admitted that the non-turbo inline are much more reliable than the turbo.
in a straight line, i actually think the 335 would have beaten the 350, this is just one drag race. the turbo has much more drivability with low range torque, definitely feels quicker... might be wrong tho, thoughts?
lexus ride is more practical, 335 suspension is almost uncomfy on country roads. the lexus is also less expensive with a new 350 costing the same as a 2 year old 335.

I test drove the 2007 328i today, the ride is sporty but i can't stand the interior. The materials and interior design are really low standard compare to Lexus.

Love the spirited arguements, but both cars are awesome cars. The 335i and x are incredible all around performers. We all know(if you own an Is350 I hope) that the BMW 3 series is the one to catch. When the IS350 came out with it's garbage suspension in 2006, it put a ridiculous TCS system in it. In the 335, you just push the button, and it's off. IS350, learn the code, unlock the 4:08 gears, and you have a great sleeper with a shit suspension!
When I go outside all I see is just streets and almost all of them are straights. There are lights too, stop-and-go traffic. BMW made cars (335i, 135i, M3, Z4) for road course tracks but it's no use because what we deal with at all times is just public roads. They are mostly straight.
Unlike a lot of the comments I won't talk smack about the other car. I actually like the IS350. I LOVE luxury sport sedans and the amenities the 350 has like back up camera, nice interior, cooled/heated seats, reliability, etc. I wish there was one in Houston or surrounding area to compare.

My point was that car enthusiast who buy these car's mod them and a modified 335i will destroy a stock 350. A tuned 335i with a meth kit is fast. I have a tuned 335i and it ran a 12.2 in the 1/4. If I raced the 350 in this video I would be buslengths ahead. And stock I ran a 13.3 in the 1/4 consistently so I would say stock 335i and stock 350 are even since the one in the vid ran 13.2 but he had mods...
@casey10614 ok, so I have a hommey with a modded Supra that runs in the high 9's. A stock Supra would lose to your 335i. So comparing your modded 335i to a stock is350 is pointless. The 335i that is getting released nnext year is supposed to be bumped up to 330 HP. Assuming rumors are true, this will obviously change things. Imagine if the IS350 had twin turbos... Lol.. It would probably run 11's.

I love the 335i because the turbos are easily boosted(once the warranty is up I hope). The BMW's suspension makes the Lexus(and pretty much anything) feel laughable. But, If you know the code to defeat the is350 TCS, I can get the 335i's by 2 lenghts

I seriously considered an IS350 if it weren't for the backseat space. @thestrawhead jb3 2.0, around 15.5 max psi. that's not important as the 80 whp increase in torque these things are usually putting on a dynojet (never dyno'ed). I'm going to say both engines are underrated from the factory, and that they're both great cars. I hate thinking the 335i is slower in the 1/4 stock, but it is what it is. I'll take an ISF over my car anyday.

I test drove a 335i and when i revved it it made this horrible rattle noise. I googled it on my phone and it appears that it happens all the time, i found lots of stories on google. So I bought the is350 and freakin love it, best purchase ever!
I've owned a 2001 S4, 01 330i dinan intake, and now a 08 IS 350. From experience, Lexus over both in customer service, reliability, and a few more. The 330 can't compete with the IS. The Audi A4 can't, S4 is close in 1/4 mile time. Maybe .3 faster. The 335 vs 350 is close too. Stock the 350 is faster. Once you chip that 335 the shits not fair! NA car can't just up boost like that ya know?

The Lexus is a very nice car, really! It's just they spent more money on luxury and straight end performance but in reality, you need cornering, handling, and to be honest, that comfy ride is not what real drivers want. They want to feel the road!

IS 350 all day you scum bags. BMW can be tuned much easier as opposed to the Toyota (IS). the IS looks better, runs better, better service at the dealership, oh yeah, and THE IS 350 is faster than the 335!!!!
In closing, both are fucking dope. The IS is quicker, but once you chip the 335 it's not fair, but would still like to see a 350 intake, exhaust, plus headers it would be close.

Anyone who thinks an IS 350 is faster than a 335i obviously hasn't driven both cars.They weigh the same and the 335i has nearly 30+ more ft. lbs. of torque. If you look at actual power put to the ground the difference between the underrated N54 and Lexus' V6 grows even wider. A competent driver will take the IS 350, ESPECIALLY after 100+ MPH every single time. And using twin turbos doesn't make it inferior somehow, they're what make the 335i faster AND get 30+ MPG on the freeway.

And it does make it inferior, becuase BMW pretty much said oh shit!!! how are we going to produce that much horsepower to keep up with the Lex. Oh lets just throw a turbo on it instead of engineering something great. And those turbos are definitaly inferior. I talked to the local BMW service department here in California and they admitted that the non-turbo inline are much more reliable than the turbo.

in a straight line, i actually think the 335 would have beaten the 350, this is just one drag race. the turbo has much more drivability with low range torque, definitely feels quicker... might be wrong tho, thoughts?
lexus ride is more practical, 335 suspension is almost uncomfy on country roads. the lexus is also less expensive with a new 350 costing the same as a 2 year old 335.
as far as the "which car is better debate" goes. 335 imo, pedigree and still the benchmark since the 2002 and 325.

Love the spirited arguements, but both cars are awesome cars. The 335i and x are incredible all around performers. We all know(if you own an Is350 I hope) that the BMW 3 series is the one to catch. When the IS350 came out with it's garbage suspension in 2006, it put a ridiculous TCS system in it. In the 335, you just push the button, and it's off. IS350, learn the code, unlock the 4:08 gears, and you have a great sleeper with a shit suspension!

When I go outside all I see is just streets and almost all of them are straights. There are lights too, stop-and-go traffic. BMW made cars (335i, 135i, M3, Z4) for road course tracks but it's no use because what we deal with at all times is just public roads. They are mostly straight.

Unlike a lot of the comments I won't talk smack about the other car. I actually like the IS350. I LOVE luxury sport sedans and the amenities the 350 has like back up camera, nice interior, cooled/heated seats, reliability, etc. I wish there was one in Houston or surrounding area to compare.

casey cute girl, IS350 is equally as fast as 335i or faster mechanically. But the 335i is more difficult to launch (wheel spin) therefore about 8 out of 10 you will lose, IS350 will be faster, sorry. My point was that car enthusiast who buy these car's mod them and a modified 335i will destroy a stock 350. A tuned 335i with a meth kit is fast. I have a tuned 335i and it ran a 12.2 in the 1/4. If I raced the 350 in this video I would be buslengths ahead. And stock I ran a 13.3 in the 1/4 consistently so I would say stock 335i and stock 350 are even since the one in the vid ran 13.2 but he had mods...

@casey10614 ok, so I have a hommey with a modded Supra that runs in the high 9's. A stock Supra would lose to your 335i. So comparing your modded 335i to a stock is350 is pointless. The 335i that is getting released nnext year is supposed to be bumped up to 330 HP. Assuming rumors are true, this will obviously change things. Imagine if the IS350 had twin turbos... Lol.. It would probably run 11's.

@jtchen22 I don't know about your 335i, but I can take the stock ones. I'm not trying to be a dick. Actually I prefer your car to mine. My wife just hated the interior(for whatever reason....women?!) I love the 335i because the turbos are easily boosted(once the warranty is up I hope). The BMW's suspension makes the Lexus(and pretty much anything) feel laughable. But, If you know the code to defeat the is350 TCS, I can get the 335i's by 2 lenghts

I seriously considered an IS350 if it weren't for the backseat space. Also, I will say with 100% confidence that the IS350 is infinitely more reliable than the 335i :( That being said, I bought this car for the engine's potential :)

I had to have it for my 6 month old Though) I don't want to say the extra 6 HP. makes a difference(because I eat the G37's, and you should too), but it it has to be the gears?! I'm getting 13.2's and 13'3 to there 13.5-6's....anyways, what hp and psi are you running?

@thestrawhead jb3 2.0, around 15.5 max psi. that's not important as the 80 whp increase in torque these things are usually putting on a dynojet (never dyno'ed). I'm going to say both engines are underrated from the factory, and that they're both great cars. I hate thinking the 335i is slower in the 1/4 stock, but it is what it is. I'll take an ISF over my car anyday.

I test drove a 335i and when i revved it it made this horrible rattle noise. I googled it on my phone and it appears that it happens all the time, i found lots of stories on google. So I bought the is350 and freakin love it, best purchase ever!

I've owned a 2001 S4, 01 330i dinan intake, and now a 08 IS 350. From experience, Lexus over both in customer service, reliability, and a few more. The 330 can't compete with the IS. The Audi A4 can't, S4 is close in 1/4 mile time. Maybe .3 faster. The 335 vs 350 is close too. Stock the 350 is faster. Once you chip that 335 the shits not fair! NA car can't just up boost like that ya know?
