  • The ONLY black FXX belongs to MS.

  • .10.7 ?!! Holy sht!

  • Ferrari wouldnt let anybody but Schumacher drive the FXX. thats why he was the stig on this episode

  • @237whpH2Bhatch I'm sorry but I disagree, the problem is people get brainwashed too easily, example..."hondas are more fuel efficient than American cars"...really? Then why is it my '09 Chrysler gets the same mileage as a brand new Honda Fit? Or even better yet only 3more mpg highway than my 16yr old CAMMED 3.4l Chevy Beretta?

  • They did not tell me I could take it home until after I bought it :(

  • If Batman had driven this, the Joker wouldn't have been a problem, but the Stig on the other hand....

  • Comment removed

  • I wish Schumacher would replace the Stig.

  • OMG... Very Nice Handling

  • I'm moving to italy and im'a steal a fxx. Im'a shit in the ministers face. And im'a say a fuck you! im'a super mario bitch!

  • they should put a turbo on it

  • @321reball yeah ,you know better than ferrari engineers ;)

  • @321reball

No sheet. regardless of slicks or treads- Ferrari will always be awesome.

  • there is only one black fxx and that belongs to mister shumacher

  • What a car!

  • then you put PAGANI ZONDA R on this track and you god this car in lot of smoke from ZONDA R

  • Just poetic. Proudly Italian!

  • a million bucks n you dont even get to keep it :(

o well unfortunately, it's not my problem

  • When will Top Gear test the Caterham Levante?

  • just listening to that muffler....who needs a fucking stereo? lol

  • if i bought one it would be sitting in my garage not in Italy

  • what a remarkable ugly car, but i´d love to "borrow" it for that one day

  • @cartzar many things make a differnce to horse power the air intake system, exhaust sytem, windage gap bettween the piston and cylinder wall (how well the pistons fit) and obviously turo/superchargers

  • someone who knows about cars answer me please. why is it that the chysler's 300C 6.0L v8 developes less horsepower than a porsche 911's 3.8 straight 6 without the turbo?

WHAT MAKES AN ENGINE DEVELOP MORE HORSEPOWER!!!??? does weight have anything to do with it?

  • @cartzar The engine's volumetric efficency is key for developing hp's. Torque on the other hand is produced mostly with big displacement engines and it's great for carrying weight around. The weight of the car has a role in deciding what kind of engine to develop, plus it's intented use. Porsche are born as sport cars, Chryslers don't

  • @28power68 and then... theres brabus... engines in case the world stops turning, we can get it started again....

  • @28power68 compression and revs aswell.

Higher compression means more fuel and air/combustion

    More Revs = faster combustions

    Think Motorcycles, 130 hp's from 600cc engine.

    F1 cars, 1000 hp's from 3L engines

  • @28power68 mazda squeezes out 400 hp of 2l displacement..as far as i know.. natural aspired. its all about tech, torque is a diffrent story indeed..

  • @28power68 European cars are just better, more economic, the gas is very expensive in Europe, and we have learned to make small engines but so efficient that they can produce more power with less fuel consumption, it's calles downsizing...Americans have cheap fuel and they don't care about efficiency, and there is one more reason, the American society loves to spend money, it's called capitalism, and nothing in the USA has real value, and nothing is suposed to last...etc

  • @cartzar the simple answer is emission standards and engineering dollars... volumetric efficiency I'm sorry to say has next to nothing to do with the hp developed.. all engines are very efficient as far as the V.E are concerned, HP is nothing less than an equation in relation to torque and RPM times a constant. The same general Chrysler engine in an SRT-8 develops 425 HP. The hidden factor that I think you may be looking for 28power68 is RPM, which plays a huge part in HP equations

  • thee most simple thing is that how the engine is made for what purpose it is made americans are a short hand at building superb sports car like porsche make you can compare any american car to european car and you will see the result

  • @cartzar the comment you recieved earlier is somewhat true! Porsche's 3.8 L V6 develops more Hp and close maybe even more torque at some stages of the RPM curve! Answer is simply! GAS. When you mix gas and air and you add a spark, and explosion happen. the more gas and air you put in a cylinder the more power you get per stroke, to put more gas in, your intake valve delivering the mixture to the cylinder valves need to open more for longer faster.

  • @cartzar Simply there are several main things that contribute to more power

-Air/fuel mixture (different ratios yield different explosion power which produces more force on the piston)

how much is burned when it is ignited

-weight of the piston and crankshaft (think of trying to push a shopping cart the heavier it becomes the more difficult it becomes to push and the more energy that gets wasted)

-area of the piston (the larger the area the more force that will be pushing on the piston)

  • @cartzar American cars usually develop less horsepower than other equally sized engines. But theoretically; the less horsepower-to-volume ratio, the less stress is put on as you go, and that may increase durability. As an example; race-cars could have a simple 3.2L V8 with twin turbo that puts out a colossal 986bhp (toyota minolta 88C-V at max), and in the same sized engine you would expect like 300bhp in a road car. But race cars usually breaks down after a few hours of continuous use of course

  • @cartzar The engine produces energy in the combustion area of the cilinders. This explosion (violent explosion) is determined by the efficiency of the explosion.

The explosion and the geometry of the engine determines the torque (defines the strenght of the engine.

There is another parameter called power which is related to what work this strenght can do by amount of time. This determines the horsepower.

The same torque at a higher rpm gives more horsepower (the ability to produce work)

  • @cartzar

On top of 28power68's answer, lets add that engine speed (RPM) is a major factor on bhp. In theory, increasing RPM increases the power output proportionally. It of course increases fuel consumption proportionally and this is why, although half the size, the porsche engine would most probably have a similar fuel consumption to the chrysler one.

  • @cartzar yes it is the weight bro

  • @cartzar An internal combustion engine is basically an air pump. The more air you can suck in and blow out, the more horsepower you make. The engine's design/purpose will dictate how much horsepower is needed or wanted for the application. Also, the faster the engine revs the more power you make. There are many many aspects of engine design that determine the horsepower rating.

  • @cartzar Yes it does. It's about the type of use the car will have. The torque has a direct connection to the weight. Heavier cars need more torque in order to Accelerate good. Lighter cars as less torque yet can develop the same output power in a higher combustion frequency. Which is good to keep the wheels on the ground. The acceleration pulse is more progressive.

  • @cartzar as i know, Horsepower means nothing, it all about torque higher the torque faster your gonna go within a certain distance, unless your car weight alot, alot of math formulas can calculate how fast a car is gonna go.

  • @cartzar cuz its shit

  • @cartzar American engines are notoriously unbalanced big displacement/low power junkers. Thats why say honda can get away with a 1.6 litre 185hp engine and Ford needs 2.5 or 3.0 litres for the same output.

  • @237whpH2Bhatch Ahaha, you're a moron. Having a relatively low HP/L for a given ammount of power means you're getting torque for free. Also, check the power curve. Your honda one is all concave, enjoy only making 185hp for the half second before you need to shift up, shitlord.

  • Comment removed

  • @cartzar more hp engines: have shorter strokes, bigger bores, therefore more revy (higher rpm range). they have higher compression ratios. max torque is made to be available at longer range of rpm through technology

bigger but low hp engines: these engines are usually torque oriented. torque is the actual power of an engine. hp is a function of torque. these engines usually have longer bore than stroke, (small pistons but they travel more distance) therefore have low rpm range. low comp ratios.

  • @cartzar to make engine to produce high horsepower out put the main thing is to make it maintain the maximum torque over the longer range of rpm. when we drive a car and we press the race peddle fully down, the car goes faster and faster but after sometime we feel a sudden drop in power. thats when it starts to loose its torque. if we can maintain the torque further the more hp the car will produce. but remember the actual power is the torque not the hp.

  • they used slick tyres here so they removed the record afterwards

  • Uh... Why is the steering wheel on the left?

  • @MammothWooly Why would it be on right? :D It's Ferrari.

  • @MammothWooly

    Normal = left

    weird = right

  • It's a Ferrari and it's an FXX..what did you expect?

  • RABBLERABBLERABBLE MY COUNTRY'S CARS ARE BETTER RABBLERABBLE.

  • AMERICA: Drags

    EUROPE: CIrcuits and speed

    ASIA: Drift

  • this is Shumi's car.. so stig here prolly is shumi ??? :D

  • This FXX's borrowed from Michael Schumacher. And in fact the stig in this episode was Michael Schumacher...

  • @rich8606 how did you came to know that mate ?

  • BYE BYE VEYRON ...........

  • 1:42 look at how the tires wall shake!!! Damn speed the FXX has!!!

  • Its like batman on a track day

  • It actually faster than the bugatti veyron super sports as it takes 1.16 to finish the track and the Fxx is faster than that!

  • 860 hp from a naturally aspirated 6.0 liters engine.....watch this and learn how to build engines america

  • @PowerMirai85 It's 382 ci not 365 (6.3L vs 6L). First off you are comparing two completely different types of engines. Ferrari's use flat plane vs American cross plane V8's. There is a little something called rotational inertia that comes into consideration. That is why the FXX can rotate up to 9500-10,000 rpm. An engine that can rotate faster will generate more power, simple as that. For a car that costs over $2 million dollars I would expect nothing less.

  • @PowerMirai85 i hate to tell you but america knows how to build engines but the country is not focused on building super cars and hypercars like the "pros" they are focused on practicality because there is literaly nowhere to use thso kinds of cars. just so you know the bugatti veyron did 253 mph at its maximum speed and america built a car a year later that had a max speed that was 10 miles per hour better.

  • @PowerMirai85 it has 12 cylinders so its basically the same thing

  • @PowerMirai85 Not just America any country outside of italy

  • @PowerMirai85 enzo's engine il 5998 cc (6.0 liters), FXX is 6262 cc (6,2 liters). but it's still a great engine (138,7 hp/liter)

  • @PowerMirai85 but superchargers and turbos are too much fun

  • @atvrider99 i totally agree on this point :)

  • @PowerMirai85 Is that why Ford kicked Ferrari's ass at LeMans 4 times? Listen, how much horsepower an engine can generate is not the only mark of a great engine. America has been building great engines for eons. America invented the car.

But the fact is Americans don't give a shit about building super cars or cars so expensive, only a few thousand can afford them. That's why the Ford GT is the only such car in America.

  • @HTHAMMACK1 noooo you didn't invent the car. The germans did.

  • @PowerMirai85 Anyone can build an engine like that. The problem is that no one wants to spend a billion dollars to develop it and a million to produce each one.

  • @PowerMirai85 I am from the U.S but I own a Japanese car. Get so tired of seeing people bash american cars. Ford GT, Dodge Viper ACR, Corvette ZR1, i could continue, but these are some of the best out there. Please stop being such a fan boy and respect the car for it's intended purpose. The U.S could build an engine just like this if they wanted no problem, but who cares if it's NA or not. SC or TC hp gets you where you are going just like a NA car. Get off Italy's penis sir

  • @PowerMirai85~ America could do the same if they spent as much money as they did on the FXX!.... u noob!

  • @marek0086

But they didn't... maybe because they are unable to do that?

Maybe because Usa do not make Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche...?

They are able to make good cars, but not cars like Ferrari, money are not enough to make car like those.

That's because they aren't in Formula 1, same reason as above.

  • @PowerMirai85 or we could run twin turbos and get 1350bhp on a production car like shelby did on the tuatara... yea i think ill do that instead

  • @PowerMirai85 6.3 litres

  • @PowerMirai85 ..900 Hp 5.7 liters naturally aspirated..you can see them every sunday in the states..do some reaserch you dumbass...

  • @wilatemodel Seriously.....

  • @wilatemodel oh well..here in europe in F1 GP you can see naturally aspirated 2.4 litres V8s with more than 800 hp...so?

  • @PowerMirai85 Mustang V-6 has 305hp 3.7L NA while still maintaining 30MPG and that is on a car that costs less than 23k.......

Also, lets not forget that Ford, Chevy, and Dodge all make trucks with over 20,000lbs tow rating. Any other brands in the World that can make that claim???

  • @PowerMirai85

You think american cars are awful? Buy a chinese Geely, catches 60 mph in 22 seconds...

    I mean WOW!

  • @MirceaBv And probably in the 23th second it catches fire, LOL

  • Why not test the Bugatti Veyron with the FXX? I do not think that is does!...

  • @pakiferrari89 Bugatti does 1'16".....six seconds more

  • @MinimalMoments Yeah butis the FXX street legal ?

  • @guinch123 sure it is... but bugatti is not ferrari, i'm sorry :) just opinions

  • @MinimalMoments thr fxx is not street leagal..

  • @hvkv0000 oh well i didn't understand..yes,it's a pity u can only test it inside traks...anyway, i prefer fxx LOL just listen to the exhaust sound

  • @guinch123 no its not....

  • @hvkv0000 thks

  • haha. it SOUNDS like an F1 car. almost looks like it handles like one..... O_o

  • black angle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Insanely fast.

  • BEST FUCKING CAR EVER

  • BATMAN

  • i don't like the color or the shape , but i sure like its perfomance woww

  • What?! The people who bought one can't take it home? F that

  • this car is still 5 seconds faster than Arial Atom V8! it is fantastic! there's no other word for it!

  • and it's like BATMAN on a track day!

  • Ultimate Aero beats a Veyron.

  • @MrAnnihilated not teh new veyron it did 268 mph the ssc aero has nothing to shout about now

  • @USAisgay belive the veyron SS took 7 miles to hit top speed.

as compaired to the SSC did it in 3 miles.

the diffrence is that the SSC has the more usable speed, as the veyron is more a Fact you can claim, but never put into use saddly....because its a luxury tank.

  • @CemetaryGatesML well it depends on wat u want to do with ur car the veyron as u said is a luxury tank, but the new aero is near, but still i would take a veyron if i had to choose

  • @USAisgay everyone without thinking it through, would take a veyron.

but if u were given the veyron and could sell it, i would. if you were give the option between the two cars, and couldent sell the car, you must drive it and own it. i would take the aero. because if u owned a veyron you would be broke. somthing as simple as changing the oil is gonna run you 4K. new tires, 70K... a small fender dent.... god help us all. lol

  • @MrAnnihilated no one gives a damn . The Aero it s a stupid cheap american piece of s**t while the Veyron it's the perfect combination between speed and luxury.

  • they had shummacher do this lap as the stif

  • @casf120 dont u mean the stig ?

  • @dshrm lol i was typing fast and hit the button and realized that i knew someone like you wud try to correct me

  • the new veyron is the fastest on the board now :)

  • @KroozeUK the veyron is crap in terms of track times. Top speed is a different story.

  • @Lossforwords78 no lol

search up for the new veyron super sport and its at the very top of the lap times

  • @Lossforwords78 the veyron came in at 1min 16.8 seconds and they removed the fxx cus it was using slick tires which aren't allowed on the leader board

  • well they took the FXX off the list because it did that time using slick tyres, which are of course not street legal.

  • Italian quality!

  • can you believe that is still 10 seconds slower than an f1 car, on a short tight track

  • @swimfreak430 Remember that the F1 car went around on a wet track, though.

  • just think of this car like a stealth plane, it's top secret and you're not gona share it's technology with anyone!

  • they can make this car street legal but they just dont want to

  • I can tell from engine noise this is a pro engine.

Short stroke f1 type engine. it hums.

  • 1 million pounds and you can't own it. Ferrari keeps it. lol.

    then you don't own it.

must have some special engine tech they don't want sold.

  • Still wouldn't beat a veyron ss in a straight line drag!!

  • @theoneeyedsnakeisbig drag races are for pussies. its a reason why i hate living in america and having every friend i have who likes cars who are always talking about quarter miles and not nurburgring.

  • @theoneeyedsnakeisbig But noone gives a shit bout drag dude...only american idiots like to drag on straight lines...also my grandma can drag a quarter mile...DRIVING on a circuit is a bit different...that's why it's called DRIVING

  • Comment removed

  • @PowerMirai85 Who races around corners in real life? Auhhh saying only some people like drag racing, well I can say that for circuit racing too, I LOVE BOTH!

  • @PowerMirai85 WOW you actually got 2 comments in the top 2 likes! well done!

  • @theoneeyedsnakeisbig Does your ideal cars not have a steering wheel in them? Or do you not have 2 hands to control the steering wheel and change your gears?

  • is this car street legal?

  • Yeah, the Pagani Zonda R is pretty much the world's only car that is powerful enough to beat this car.

  • its not street legal take it off the board

  • its bullshit that you cant keep it.. wtf?

  • the batmobile XD

  • 10 secs? .. no comment

  • Ferrari was and will be simply THE BEST!

  • they should make this road leagal

  • VEYRON ¿?¿?¿?¿? nice challenge .

  • its to stop other companies reverse engineering the engine

  • I wonder if Ferrari is going to give whatever the product of the research that this car is being used to do to the people who bought the darn thing...

  • so the Renault V10 F1 car is only 10 seconds fasther then the FXX on this track

  • Wat the fuck? You pay a million dollars to NOT own a car? Fuck Ferrari

  • @nickm456123 not 1 million dollars more like 1.5 million dollars and yes u dont get it cus its not road legal and the car needs to be inspected every time afther u drive it just like a F1 car

  • @Boocho88 he said "one million pounds"

  • @kookie888 its 2.5 million he got it wrong

  • @12QWEt pounds and dollars are way different in terms of price

  • That FXX is an amazing car and I guess only a Formula 1 racing car could perhaps beat it's lap time around the Top Gear test track

  • I wish they bring Zonda R on the track)

  • so u buy this car but cant take it home, wtf??

  • @B789c because it has scuderia F1 technology that is secret to the company...and this is done to prevent for example buying fxx by someone from williams BMW and stealing the technology

  • @obeybosss alright i see what you mean.

  • @obeybosss Ferrari has another way of preventing that problem from happening with the FXX too. They only sell it to their absolute best customers that have an extensive history of buying Ferrari cars and with a big collection of them. So it's highly unlikely that any of the 30 owners of this incredible car would be employees for any of the current F1 teams.

  • It make sense . This is the TOP technology and they want to keep it secret. If they let the owner to take his car at home, that man could look at the engine and find their secret . ||Sorry for my english.||

  • @ovidiu299 I don't think there really is a secret. They do just like in Formula 1. They just rev it's nuts off to gain more power. Quite simple, the hard thing is to make it last, but all F1 teams can do that, so they can't use it for anything.

  • that fxx is a freakin bullet but i am still so impressed with f1 cars...the stigs 'birthday, and christmas combined present f1 lap of 59.something seconds. -10 seconds a LAP faster! astonishing engineering in those things

  • this car does not belong in the street and ferrari keeps it in top shape for you

this car probably requires heavy maintenance

  • Wow it has loads of grip.

  • personally if i paid taht much money for that car i want to be able to drive on the street not sit in italy and only be able to take it out to a track fuck that i want the cops to atleast try and catch me

  • @sully22655

well, the only reason the fxx is capable of what it can do is because it is nowhere near street legal. So even if you did take it home you wouldn't ever be allowed to drive it anywhere.

  • sure you can just dont get caught and pray you have enough gas

  • Well, not sure where you're from, but I wouldn't take the risk. In Britain the police would confiscate and crush your car for not having tax or insurance. Scary! However, whether they'd do that to £1,500,000's worth of supercar I don't know.

  • im from the states and ya you need it registered and all that but if they cant tell what it is i mean how many people would have a fxx rolling around

  • @levijonessheep Yes...but first they have to TAKE you XD

  • @PowerMirai85

    That's true!

  • who was driving this around the track, the Stig or michael schumacher dressed as the stig?

  • @IceWaterInc Schumacher

  • @IceWaterInc I think it was schumacher since no one knows this car better than him. We can see in the follow through, michael know's the car already so doesn't lift off. I bet the stig would.

  • @IceWaterInc

It was Shumacher, because that is his personal fxx. Ferrari only made one black fxx without a stripe, which they gave to Schumacher as a gift for his time with the Ferrari Formula One team.

  • How is it being 7 seconds faster than the gumpert even possible? And what would happen if you put slicks on all the cars. I'm sure that list would be thrown upside down

  • i lov how ferrari has the flat pannell gear box thing its so sick

  • It's not, that's why they DQ'd it.

  • Too bad it was disqualified for using slick tires:(

  • even if it didn't have slicks it would still be dq'd because it isn't street legal
