Not being a Gudam person, I had to look up TT Hongli, and as someone who doesn't have a problem with knockoffs provided people know what they're getting, I wouldn't object to you reviewing them, so long as you're honest. But that's just my approach to knockoffs.

Also, just as a side note, this is the first I've heard of a toy reviewer getting products to review from a company. Usually it's retailers.

Of course, both cost and quality are as subjective as moral values, and for this reason more KO reviews should be on YouTube; reviews that rely on good quality pictures and video, rather than subjective comments, because, at the moment, the only way one can decide if KO quality is up to their personal standards is to buy one, risking disappointment. Therefore, KO reviews are as valuable as any other. In the end the decision to buy a KO is up to the values and standards of each one of us.

There is a lot of focus on copyright and the ethical issues behind supporting bootlegs. However, whether we like it or not, TT continue to make and sell their KOs and some modellers buy them. Others question the morals of those who do, saying that no one should buy bootlegs on moral grounds. And although that is reason enough for them, a lot of people find that cost outweighs any ethical issues. To make this discussion personal to more modellers, we should focus on cost and product quality.

To be honest... I hate TT hongli.. I dislike bootlegs with a passion. If you do them.. Its up to you. I will keep watching the videos because you do a great job at them. I will just end up ignoring your TT hongli reviews because I do not care about them.

Dude, I've been a fan of yours for a long time. Not just the kits, but the off roading, all that stuff. Out of all the reviewers I watch, you're the one I think I could just hang out, drink a beer and shoot the shit with. I know it's tempting with the free stuff, but please don't. Model builiding is about quality, not quantity. Do your vid, because you said you would, then blast it to pieces with a large caliber for all those Bandai designers that worked hard to design the real kit.

In regard to this issue, do what you feel you need to do. If you wanna review the KO's and get freebies out of it, more power to ya. I am sure you can deck 'em out with some neat paint apps and make 'em look good.

So people are purists, but then there are those that will get those and they need reviews to make a decision, so go for it.

Also, more Transformer videos would be awesome, but first and foremost do what you want to do.

@6claws1ace B-Club is officially licensed. Original resin kits are officially licensed. They pay HUGE sums of money to enable them to sell very limited amounts of kits. They are a labor of love.

Don't you dare compare them to bootlegs.

Recast resin kits are very different; often there is no original available, so there is no alternative. They're still not something to be proud of.

TT Hongli is NOT another source. They COPY Bandai.

I watch reviews (from people who's opinion I trust, like you) to find out if something is good and worth getting, or not. KO or not, if it's good, I want to know about it! Same goes for if it's a bad product. Times are tough for a lot of people right now, and reviews are essential if you want to avoid wasting money on something sub-par. It sounds like they are more then willing to have you post an honest opinion on their stuff, and that's a good sign. You won't lose me bro.

I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, I just think that people haven't given the issue enough thought. Bootlegs hurt the industry and the hobby, especially when it comes to a company like Bandai, which is practically magnanimous, with low prices and fantastic quality (The only issue being their near-monopoly in Japan's hobby industry, but that's a different issue).

@DavidPrime83 It's not actually much of a jump. You're not exactly stealing, more assisting the bootlegger in doing so, but to such an extent (Seeing as how you'll have weighed the options of buying the original vs. buying the bootleg) that you'd be able to be judged under the same offence.

If you buy a bootleg for ANY reason, you are funding bootleggers, allowing them to keep taking advantage of both their country's lax law and the amount of work model companies put into their products.

You don't advertise illegal goods; especially illegal goods which are unjust. Bandai does a fantastic job keeping standards high and prices low. It's awful to abuse that, in turn reducing the risks companies take (Like Aoshima's fantastic FMP line and Kotobukiya's surprise hit Hoihoi) and raising prices by forcing them to make the money back from the fewer customers through higher prices.

Don't advertise bootlegs.

And there are tons of other things that are also knock-offs.

Thake coca cola and all of its immitations wich are in a way knock - offs.

But you can buy them in stores and there are not illigal.

Now as far as I know it. These knock-off aren't made or selled illigaly. (but then I don't know the whole deal about Ko's because I like quality)

China is famous for not respecting copyright and patent law; Cola-Cola Vs Pepsi is a case of two products with a VERY similar idea, implemented in a different way (Different patents). What is being done is legal in China, but ILLEGAL INTERNATIONALLY, as near every country obeys copyright law.

I think a good gauge of your current subscribers are through a week's worth of views on a given video, give or take 20%. We're all busy, some have work...some have school. hehe. Even then, it might not be a good indication.

I say, review the kit since you got it for free and you made the commitment already.

In my opinion, KO kits are at the discretion of the buyer. In some ways, you might be doing justice to inform the masses than let them acquire one out of curiosity.

Honestly, do whatever you want man. When it all boils down to it this is your channel and your videos. I guarantee whatever you do, you're bound to gain or lose subscribers. This hobby can be VERY expensive so some freebies can be a nice help from time to time.

Like you said, if it's a good kit you'll do an actual review of it. Most of the time when knock offs are seen they're horrible. This could be an exception and some people would appreciate it.

I don't know much about TT Hongli, but I think based on the fact that you purchased 2 kits from them already, that should be enough (depending on the quality of said kits) to consider doing reviews of them. TT Hongli is the same as a Gundam resin; both are knock offs and pirated (unless it's made by B-Club or G-System). People don't seem to realize that, but no one hates resin conversion kits.

That would be like if someone took one of my modded kits, made a recast of it and sold it as there own work. Or another example, if I took a g-system kit, recast it, and sold it as my own. Just keep in mind, just having the stuff on your channel good bad or otherwise links you to it, you have to decided if this is the type of product and people that you want to associate with. Hey Buddy, just give it a try. Maybe do a couple KO reviews once in a while. Your review could help some people maybe decide Not to get the figure or maybe to get an affordable KO version, since probably the original's price is so high that many people won't be able to buy it anyway. Anyway, that is my opinion on the matter. Anything you decide though I will still watch.

Personally, I wouldn't really care if you review these knock off toy as long as you continue to give you honest opinion. It seems like from the other video, the "endorser" is allowing you to do whatever you want with them.

But that's just me, I know that a lot of people are against piracy and "sell outs"

If you want to get free stuff by reviewing the product then by all means do it. This is YOUR channel, don't let people tell you what to do. If people don't want to watch certain videos then they don't have to watch it.

Also, it's a REVIEW, you can say you hate it and no one should buy them, just because you are getting them doesn't mean you support this market. In the end, I'm gonna watch whatever you put out. Transformers, Gundam(knock off or not), Motorcycles, it's all good to me

For me, I love to see anything related to what I like. Gundam is kool. If this guy has good kits, then it would be kool to see them.
