@AJE1962 Its called "Once upon a time in the west" Not harmonica... but this post is a month old so you probably found it already lol, did you like it? =)
I really hate to nit pick on my all time favorite western. The only real goof I noticed was that Charles Bronson didn't "see three of these dusters...."
In the opening scene Woody Strode isn't wearing one.
Aside from that very small detail, I think this is the greatest Western ever made.
@spectre0075 I don't agree, I think Inglorious Basterds was a great movie in its own right, and Kill Bill was fun. Inglorious Basterds doesn't have the Leone style anywhere that I recall, Kill Bill does.
@samsam29 The very first scene was meant to invoke the opening of this film in that very ponderous way, but according to Wikipedia anyway, reflects Lee Van Cleef's entry in the third Dollars movie more so
@samsam29 Inglorious Basterds, though I don't really remember the first scene, cept that it was long, and probably the most interesting part, save the bar sequence
@HeroOfCanton99 the first sequence of Inglorious Basterds was Hans Landa and his Nazi croonies looking for jews at the French guy's house. Certainly one of the best sequences of the movie, though it never made me think of OUaTitW. Long setup like this one, but besides that, not really the same.
@samsam29 You're probably right - it's been awhile since I've seen it. Maybe I just want more movies to pay homage to Once Upon a Time in the West, though it didn't exactly work out in Pirates of the Caribbean 3's favor...
Awesome! One of my own favorite scenes in this whole movie including the McBain Massicure and I was wondering if you might post that epic scene for us? :)
I think this is the most hardcore scene in movie history. The score, the lightning, the acting... Every single line and every little gesture is just *oozing* with badass attitude, tension and suspense. I love it!
This (including part 1) is definitely the best scene in the entire movie. Not one of the actors ever bettered their performance in this movie, and, to be honest, most of the credit goes to Sergio Leone the director and Ennio Morricone the composer.
yes i agree totally.....when i first saw the scene when Cheyenne threw that olive lamp to harmoncia and the music played i didint even know what happened to me....a unique experiance....best scene and Sergio was the best director in the world. I see today many directors (like Quentin) try to be like Leone but it is still NOT ENOUGH...not like Unce upon a time in the west or Good bad, ugly...
@pazZzurro Quentin is a big joke and i never cared for ANY of his movies. I dont like his movie style at all. I know alot of people like that kind of bullshit. They just cant make movies like this anymore! The 60s throughout the 80s were the best, now everything is based on CGI and no story. This is what movies should be!
@nicknasty14 I agree. People say they like Tarantino's movies but I can bet most of them dont even understand his movies. They just take it as a fact that he is sooo good. Example: when we asked why people like Pulp Fiction they said "Cause ther's so much action in that movie"....while there is almost no action in that movie! He has a tendecy to make garbage but then again a lot of people like movies of today :| total downfall. But i liked the 80's and 90's. Many classy films made then :)
@pazZzurro haha, no kidding. yea, im a big fan of 80s movies. growing up in the 80s, i really feel lucky to have lived through that era. from the music, to television, to movies! great times indeed. i still put the original mad max, escape from NY, empire strikes back and road warrior as my top 4 movies from the 80s. there was just too damn many classic movies at that time. joysticks, hot moves, fast times, cant buy me love etc. list goes on and on.
@nicknasty14 Hmm well then Im not as lucky...I was growing up more in the 90's but those were good times too. Yeah I get what you mean. The evolution of cinema from like MTV to classic movies and TV. And yes I too love the movies you mentioned. Especially Mad Max and of course Snake Pliscen :D he is one of my favorite characters. I alwys think they should make one last movie with him. Just as Stallone did Rocky and Rambo for the last time!
@pazZzurro haha, yea me and a few of my friends out here are huge plissken fans. always quoting that movie all the time. donald pleasance and the duke mainly. as horror films go during the 80s, they focused more on fear and anticipation rather than films nowadays, that focus more on blood and gore. that to me isnt horror and only should play a part. zob zombie butchered the new halloween movies. i am a big halloween fan, mainly 1 & 2 were my favorites. too many good movies back then.
@nicknasty14 Im not a horror movie fan but sometimes I like to see a horror movie. Of course I usually watch some of the old classics cause of the things that are happening in modern cinema. Horrors were based on a good plot, mystery and characters etc and now the plot is so basic it hurts your brain. Blood and slaughter everywhere. I think this started mainly after the succes of Texan massacre though that movie actually had a plot and was a kick above today's junk.
His FIRST appearance is epic and before this.... Indeed one of the best scens in the movie. To think it was cut out some tv-versions....

Jason Robards does it, too. Both of them are as good as the other one.
