Continues: I know, The Night Nightmare is not tied to neither the old AitD trilogy nor to AitD 5, but it had a pretty damn good plot and lore (I spent hours reading the written documents in-game). What I missed in 5 from The New Nightmare was the triple-barreled shotgun and Carnby's double-barreled, dual-cylinder, revolver (the game says it's a 9mm, but it's probably a .38 special or a .357 mangum, which both are 9mm rounds). I actually liked this game. At first I couldn't bear the clunky controls, but after I managed to pass that obstacle I found a pretty good game. Sure, it's not a masterpiece, but it has some interesting gameplay mechanics that can be polished and pushed to the next level for a hypothetical Alone in The Dark 6. I hope so because, small spoiler ahead, AitD 5 ends in a cliffhanger, with more questions than anwers (if any).

I also used to love AiTD: The New Nightmare.

usualy i hate horror games, but i have to admit that this one was very nice. this game is different than any other game that i have seen. creators of this game was realy serious when they made it. all the graphics, the music, the story and of course the style, were amazing.

i won't argue with any one who doesnt think like me, but in my opinion that game has nice ending. this kind of endings which i like, mysterious and sad, which i looked for and expected from this game.

Yeah there were a few gripes about the inventory but thats what the survival genre is about.. collecting the vital items and using them carefully in order to survive the nightmare that the story has placed you in.

If it hadn't been for the shitty game mechanics and annoying enemies then this would have been a great game. It had a great story, amazing graphics, and some very creative ideas, but unfourtunately it had to suffer from bad controls(including driving mechanics)and enemies that could only be killed by fire(which promted alot of frustration).
