In Europe we already used Haldol back in the 60's while American doctors preffered Perphenazine.

For maintenance dosing in moderate severity psychotic disorders, often just 2mg once a day is sufficient to prevent relapses and keeps side effects low. This once daily dose is best given 1-4 hours before sleeping, this varies per patient, the haldol itself will signal bedtime. The sleep rhythm will adjust to it so that missed doses manifest as insomnia, and the mind numbing effects of the drug are overslept. 2-4mg haldol a few hours before retiring often provides friendly neuroleptic treatment.

I opine that haldol may be superior to, or at least good combined with, long acting benzos for the more paranoid/delusional type of anxiety cases. Benzos are good for anxiety/insomnia alone but aint got nuthin on haldol when it comes to suddenly making me feel like i can function in a society again, and not be stuck in my apartment. I just opine that one would have to adjust the haldol dose to be high enough to have a profound effect against resistance but low enough to evade nasty side effects

I am on haloperidol. It costs $4 at my Safeway. I have had success on it...completely stopped my paranoia. My dose is very small, and I've had no physical symptoms, yet.
