  • Hi i have seen paddis before on swedish sites :p i need an answear for one question about my axolotls future. My leucistic axolotl have small freckles between her eyes and near her "nose". Will she be like yours? or is she just going to have them there. will they grow bigger or will they stay the same? Other people can answear this question too if you know anything :) Thanks , Also watch my videos

  • @KoliikBarn They usually just stay as freckles, I believe that this kind of colour change is very rare!

Do you feed it EVERY day?

    It ist too fat!

It will get ill if you doesn't change something...

1 time a week is enough for an adult.

  • can you have an alolotl and a spanish ribbed newt together?

  • @MrShortCropped Yes you can, I have a spanish ribbed newt and an axolotl together in one tank and they don't attack each other. Just make sure they are about the same size.

  • so fat...

  • please ,please answer this. it would be SO helpful! when the sand moves does it make the water ? does the sand darken the water? I just got an axolotl and getting big stones is REALLY expensive to cover the whole bottom,

    please answeer. thank ya.

  • If you have Big stones to your axolotl i dont think it would spoil the water.. as long as you clean and take care of old food and keep it fresh i dont think theres gonna be any problem :)

  • @frankendoodlmcnugget sand r great use it

  • @frankendoodlmcnugget get stones outa a local creek and just boil them i did it for my aferican claw frog and i had him for 10 years so far

  • @frankendoodlmcnugget get riversand or other really thin sand put in your pillow cover and wash it for about 10 min. the sand should keep a steady colour by then. when putting the water on the sand in the aquarium you should keep in mind that it wil move and therefor the water will look musty/dark but it will go down and it 'll be nice and clear.

  • @ikheetirma wash it just with water!!! no soap!!

  • thats an interesting color. is that rare or normal?

  • @frankendoodlmcnugget

its not that normal, but not impossible to get this colour.. she was all Pink when i first got her, after a couple of months she started to get freckles and then she just got darker and darker.. soo cute! I think the colour is called Leucistic but i coud be wrong

  • @drameon thats very strange that it changed that dramatically. i think the pinkish whitish is leucistic.in a summary leucistic is partly albino.

  • @drameon her colour is called piebald of where the axolotl is half one colour and half another. leucistic is a fancy name for the white colour.

  • @drameon as far as i know leucistic is white with black eyes instead what you got whith an albino which has red eyes, though i could be wrong.

and i'm curiuos about it too.

  • so cute..

  • that axolotl is a molt tat means it comes from a black a white one very rare

  • I own two axolotl's Im looking into buying a third one, I know what colour i am looking into buying

It has Purple Gills And A Black Body ( I had a chance to buy one once ) but i skipped the change =[ I need a new tank for 1grand ... 1150 or something its pretty big i might buy two tanks so i can connect them!

  • sooo cute :x

  • so cute :)

  • ha ha XD its swimming and it keeps on falling to the side XD its fat but cool

  • Sort of looks like you went through a period of poor water quality. This would have led to the axolotl trying to transform into its mature form. This would have resulted in both the color change, as well as the massive shrinkage of the gills and dorsal fin, which is evident in this axolotl.

  • bad water quality may cause gill reduction - it doesnt cause transformation and/or color change though.

the color is unusual yet a completely normal occurence and no reason for concern. however she is in need of a diet - shes quite fat. ;-)

  • wow! i never seen one of these before, but its so cute!

  • yes i know, isn't she wonderful! I've had her for about two, tree years and she was all pink when i first got her.. then she got some spots on her nose and now she is this dark :-D wery sweeet :-)

  • cute

  • i am hatching axolotl eggs right now and have studied them for some time looks to me to have a condition called bloat it can be deadly or given its age and if its a female it may be full of eggs and ready to breed and if not breed may cause a cloacal prolapse and cause death it appears to have trouble staying on the bottom most axolotls walk on the bottom and it has been my experiance that males have less issues and are longer lived

    -concerned axolotl owner /dealer

    ,michigan

  • Thanks for the tip! I didnt know about this "bloat" thing but i dont think thats the issue, when i got her i use to feed her twice a week so she got quite big.. but now i only feed her once a week and it seams to be perfekt for her. Shes not to fat but not skinny either :) and she has no problems staying on the bottom either.. but thanks again, ive learned someting new thanks to you :)
