Why people compare sylvari with elves? What's same? they live in a tree? come on.... Elves are inmortal mystic creatures that lived for 1000's of years and have a vast knowlege about the world.... Sylvari are (no sure if they are inmortal or not) young creatures with a little knowlege of the world around them and willing to learn... The anathomy are too diferent, except both resemble human (like any other humanoid...).
Ok, for the ones saing the sylvari aint unique i have 2 questions: In how many games "elf" can be life-destroyer lifehugger - evil ?(necromancer) And to prefer pyrotechnics, guns and all kind of tools instead of nature's power? (engineer) :D
+ as the creators say theyr anatomy is also unique(plants that just look human)
@scourge213 bunch of games two first on my mind would be TES series and Arcanum and i think there is more... But idea itself isn't all that unique indeed they are based of dryads and elves,.
@AnimeGetsRemoved What point are you trying to make exactly? Sylvans and Sylvari are not the same. Sylvari's are made out of plants and mimic humans, they are not elves. Sylvan and Sylvari derived from the word Silva which means forest in latin.
