  • Steve McQueen was HOT...smoking, NOT

  • My son in law, a heavy smoker, was just diagnosed with lung cancer.

  • and cancer too

  • Smoking?? Hey, I smoked for 45 years. I'm 63 now. I hav'ent had one in 19 months. One stroke, and a multiple bypass surgery made me quit the damn things. It was tough at first, but I got over it. I recommend that everyone quit that crap! Coffin nails?? Damn right!

  • I'd rather my kids received a pack of Camels unfiltered when Trick-Or-Treating than have a Marxist "public school" teacher tell them it's ok for Johnny and Bruce to be "fudge packers".

  • @ChetR

And you're probably dead of cancer by now.

  • I can't hear a damn thing he's saying.

  • It's sad how many people have no backbone. Stop buying cigarrettes if you don't like them, don't play the fucking victim. I smoked a pack a day from age 15 until I turned 23. I am 26 now and haven't smoked a cigarrette since. My big secret? I stopped going to the gas station to buy the motherfuckers! Take some responsibility for your actions people. Moderation is the key to the enjoyment of ANY habit good or bad.

  • Studies have shown that the risk of contracting mesothelioma by those who inhaled asbestos fibers were many times greater if they also smoked. The one-two punch took out Steve.

  • @phogroian

Please, don't confuse the addicts with facts and reason. It makes their heads hurt.

  • @wizardofradical Thank you for clearing that up. Steve's coolness factor turned cigarette smoke into a health benefit.

  • is smoking bad for you? yes. if you live like steve mcqueen did though.... chances were that you would probably die from an accident rather than smoking.

i live like mcqueen. so i smoke. hell, if i live past 25, ill consider quitting.

  • @Transane That's what I said when I turned 30- I am now 41!!! I am still addicted to nicotine!!!

  • @mtfune hah. yeah, its a rough road.

smoking is like tying your hand with a rope tight enough that you can take the rope off and feel how nice it is to have your hand be free.

  • @Transane YES!!!! Those who are not addicted will never know the constant uphill battle that one goes thru. It's kind of like that K.D. Lang song , Constant Craving, except MY version is talking about nicotine!!!!

  • steve mcqueen was the king,, nothing except aspestos could kill him,,, including nazis,, the twats in that dodge charger from bullitt and ciggaretts assholes,, it would be an insult to the cooler kings name if u twats kept tryin to shove ant-smokin crap down everyones necks,, just enjoy the commercial,, long live the king

  • I remember "Tarenton" cigs which had cool black and white filter. And of course there were cigs with no filter at all. Maybe they were Lucky Strike. Also expermented with Parliaments, Fortunately for me I never got hooked on any of 'em. Even as a kid it all seemed so stupid and pointless.

  • pstpup, Hitler was a veggie head, and insisted that nobody around him, all his top men, not to smoke. its pretty clearly known about this history, seems smoke has fogged up your brain. oh and just in case you say go F yourself, me first, and last

  • Cigarette nazi's? sounds like someone's losing the battle with their addiction???

  • this acctually makes me want to smoke but i dont im only 16 and im a musician

  • If I remember correctly He was filming in the area where they were setting off nuclear bombs and this was the cause of his cancer along with others like john wayne who also died of cancer .

  • he died because of abestos exposure, not cancer caused by smoking

  • He smoked too many cigarettes containing the Micronite filter (which was made of asbestos).

  • Only the Kent brand had the Micronite filter. He was exposed to asbestos in shipyards. Smoking most likely didn't help though.

  • Steve advertised cigarettes? What an idiot.

  • Thinking man's filter? What's that supposed to mean? Just gimme a fucking light willya?!

  • Normally, "Nazis" and "Cigarettes" aren't used with apostrophes.

  • go fuck yourself

  • What a great idea! You should do the same! I'll join you with a cigarette. Got a light?

  • @pstpup

lol, all that smoking has made you edgy and bitter.

  • @pstpup fuck yourself right in the ear hole!

  • @pstpup

May you live a life just like Steve McQueen's.

  • i hear ya on that one lol

  • Fucking cigarette Nazis, all rounding us smokers up into camps and starving us and pushing us into mass graves with bulldozers.

  • So, a thinking man's filter and a smoking man's taste ... I guess smoking men and thinking men were two mutually exclusive groups.

  • @Rasputin443556 heh, good one.

  • HAHA retard

  • Cigarettes are bad,but drugs are far worst.

How many other Hollywood celibrities died because of drugs? Plenty more from illegal drugs than tobacco.

  • Just curious, how can Laonicap..... on youtube know how many packs of smokes McQueen smoked a day? Did you know him or something? (I doubt it)

  • his cancer was also caused by the asbestos he was exposed to in the army in the tanks he worked on. he was a mechanic on the tanks and it was spread throughout in tanks as insulation and protection from fires.

  • Thinking man's filter? Smoking man's taste? Anyway, I'm glad you added this. It's quite an artifact of another time.

  • That video description has got to be a joke, right? Please tell me it is.

  • Eman is correct. While no one will tell you smoking is healthy, Steve died of asbestos exposure. Strangley enough, he was 40 during the filming of On Any Sunday, and in great shape. Sadly, had he been a non smoker, it likely would not have kept him from contracting mesothelioma. We vintage mx racers will always remeber him.

  • Mesotheilioma is an incurable cancer.

  • He died of a heart attack, he was clear of cancer at the end.

  • No, the cancer was still there - in fact his lung was entirely cancerous.

  • Your a damn liar.

  • So I have to ask - if his death had "nothing to do with smoking", did poisonous cigarette smoke make his lungs healthier in some mysterious way?

  • Heh! nicely put :)

  • Do people who drink get healthier? do fat people who continue to eat burgers get healthier?

  • sooooooooo clever. worry about you're own fucking lungs.

  • It's none of your damn business you nazi

  • @hebneh you prove a good point.

pstpup, I pretty much agree with you about the freedom of choice, there is no law against smoking. Smoking doesn't make you a bad person. But you act like a thirteen year old. hebneh just asked a question of logic. Chill out.

  • @hebneh He died of lung cancer. Sorry this is late. I would know considering he is my cousin.

  • @hebneh Actually it's a commonly accepted fact that McQueen was poisoned by months, even years - at lining the engine rooms of ships with asbestos based products, like cotton lining and some paints. doctors believe the amount of asbestos destruction to his lungs was due to this fact. NOT due to smoking.

  • @hebneh He died of mesothelioma which is caused by one thing: expsoure to asbestos. It is not caused by smoking cigarettes. He did not die of lung cancer.

  • @xpat73 yes, this is correct.

  • Steve McQueen Did die from lung cancer,

i heard he did an anti smoking commercial before his death, this is the only commercial i found on you tube

  • He did not die of lung cancer. Pay attention. Better yet, try looking it up for yourself.

  • It had to with him soaking his face wrap with liquid asbestos before racing. Smoking after the race with asbestos on your lips, doesn't help either. You'll be forever missed Steve!

  • That's cool, you do realize Steve died of lung cancer though?

  • His death had nothing to do with smoking

  • Yeah. He had mesothelioma. You seen those ads for the ambulance chasers that specifically mention mesothelioma? It comes from exposure to asbestos, generally resulting from negligent corporations, and the ambulance chasers win big cash settlements. Of course, they can't officially promise big cash settlements, but in private, they guarantee big cash settlements. :-D

  • 3 packs a day until age 50 would certainly help...he quit right before he died...

  • Yes, he didn't actually stop until just before filming "Tom Horn".
