@Sidsix5555 back then pitstops were not as common as they are today. It would be rare for cars to stop for fresh tyres. However, it did happen but it didn't seem to be a too big a problem for this car. A tyre stop then would last very long anyway as it was a highly unusual thing to happen.

Not a very good car, but undoubtedly one of the most unusual and special F1 cars ever built !! To this day, it's one of the most popular and well-known F1 cars. Ever. Old Ken did something right, that's for sure.

@telescopereplicator Actually the Tyrrell P34 produce a one-two finish in the 1976 Swedish Grand Prix; for a debut year of a car like that, it's got to be good (for the time the car was in-use)! You are absolutely correct about the car being unique though. ;)

The six wheel concept was put aside because of aerodynamics and overheating tures and ball bearings. Those tiny front wheels spinned like crazy on high speed circuits. No tyre or bearing could deal with that. The car was good, but only on small, low speed circuits. Did you know this car is the most recognizable race car ever?? ;-)

Does anybody know why they left the 6 wheel formula behind... Money issues? Wasn't fare, other cars with 4 wheels, this one with 6, the video says it even one a race or a couple of races... or just the team left the F1 Championship

The tyre supplier that Tyrell used were unwilling to develop the tyres like they were for other teams with four wheels so the car gradually grew to be more and more uncompetitive. Ferrari also designed a six wheel car that never made it to the track along with another team I cannot remember. It's a shame, people still say today that it's a great concept but it is out lawed by the modern rules.
