Actually, some courageous people tried fighting with the bear, swinging a fire extinguisher. And the bear actually broke into a souvenir shop later on.

This bear is called Asian MOON BEAR, much aggressive toward humans than black bears in Europe and North America. The bear attacked a group of tourists in Gifu prefecture in 2009 Sep 28th. 9 out of 4 people got seriously injured but no one died.
