  • This is the movie that made me start loving Kurt Cobain, then Nirvana, which lead me to start appreciating music in general more

  • When I was 14 I first heard Nirvana. Off course it was SLTS I heard, but at that time I pit them aside just as a "Good band". It wasnt until I heard their song "Dive" that I realized that I fucking loved them. I was always facinated by Cobain, of a simple reason - he in a way looked like me. Not in apperance, but in views, and personality. He suffered from the same things I have, and has faced the same troubles as I. I have a princepal of not having idols, but damn! He comes the closest.

  • What is the name of the song from 0:00 to 0:25 seconds? I've heard it a few other videos and really like it!

  • @laiho32 Overture - Benjamin Gibbard & Steve Fisk

  • Whats the song at the beggining???

  • @rodneymullen1201 Overture - Benjamin Gibbard & Steve Fisk

  • @xxx7010xxx Thanks!!!

  • I first saw this in 9th grade, it makes me sad to here it again :D

  • This movie is really great, I recommend any Nirvana fan to watch it. And I don't get why most people think that this is a some harsh or sad movie, I smiled a lot while watching it, Kurt was a funny guy for sure :) and his story is really interesting, too. I love the part where Kurt talks about how he went to a club and a some kid asked him why did he always look so mad. And Kurt replied "I'm not mad, I'm in a perfectly happy mood right now you asshole", his voice intionation was priceless :DDD

  • when i was watching this film i just sat stared into space and listened, you don't need to watch all of the irrelevant clips. there are so many parts to this where i think, that is soo true. Kurt Cobain never forgotten

  • I love Kurt Cobain and his music. I'm not in love with Kurt, I'm in love with person what he was and in his music. He looked so depressed, but deep, really deep in his soul he was probably happy. It's so fucking hard, to watch this movie and don't cry. This is the best movie in my life. After this, I always think 'this is soo true' and start crying. I know, I can't speak English very well, but I said, what I wanted.

  • i love Nirvana, love Cobain, love documentaries and i will watch this but this trailer is shit, the people in it have absolutely no relevance whatsoever, i mean c'mon the majority of them werent even alive in the early 90's... would of been alot better just sticking a picture of the band up and leaving it at that

  • Can anyone tell me what song is being played at the end? I know its Queen cause I can recognize a Queen song anywhere, but just dont know what song...Seven Seas of Rhye, maybe?

  • I love this movie sooo much.

I've been watching it at least once a month for almost a year now

  • For those of you who want to watch the full video, you can stream it here for free(:

  • What is the music at the very begining?

  • @polishgrl87 Overture by Steve Fisk and Ben Gibbard

  • i see that movie few minutes ago. depressing but truly sincere

  • Casey Anthony 1:03??

  • i loved this movie i watch it at lest once a month to this day kurt was a great guy who would make great music and this movie i fell honors him

  • I did not see one individual that even remotely resembled Kurt Cobain in this...

  • this movie/interview is beautiful

  • whats that 1 2 3 4 song called

  • @Nanotech92 It's called "interlude 1 (Olympia)" it's by Steve Fisk & Benjamin Gibbard it can be found on Kurt Cobain About A Son:Original Score. It's only 1:05 long but it's pretty awesome. It took me forever to find it.

  • @tearaft Where did you find it ? I could not not find it here on youtube.

  • I feel hypocritical when i watch this. I love nirvana, Kurt is my inspiration and i just love hearing his point of view/his outlook on life, everything he says I've thought and i agree with him, he's my friend in a way i look up to him. But when he says "My personal life is none of their business" It's aiming towards us, i feel like listening to this is sacred and he would hate us for listening to his personal opinions... does anyone know if he wanted this to be shared to his fans or what?!

  • @imsohappywaitnoimnot

if i had to guess, i would say some of it. the stuff about his relationships or stuff with his parents probably not, but the stuff about being homeless and nirvana's rise would probably be something he would be okay with. then again, this movie shows just how complicated kurt was, so maybe not...

  • @imsohappywaitnoimnot I think he did want it to be shared, that's why he agreed to these interviews. He probably thought it would be best to just tell all once and leave it at that but got annoyed that he was constantly being asked for more interviews.

  • @imsohappywaitnoimnot i think he did, he wanted us to know that his life was his and only his business, and plus he says you don;t need to everything about me. These were tapes taken from an interview for, Comes As You Are, so he did want us to know how he felt about people looking into his life.

  • @imsohappywaitnoimnot this audio was taken from interview he did with michael azerrad a journalist for the book come as you are. Kurt participated actively so if he participated in doing the interviews for the book I don't think he would have mind that the material was listened instead of readed.

  • I just cry when I hear his voice on this, I'm 15 and I love nirvana and him sooo much ;) I may be obsessed with him but I don't care, I find him so interesting with his weirdness, sarcasm and funny moods, i've read his journals, and many books, watched interview after interview including countless of documentaries and I just can't get enough of him, and hearing him tell his story is incredible on this :)

  • @ilovekurtcobain11 There is no such thing as 'weirdness' when it comes to Kurt Cobain. He is he, he has his way, and it is not weird, it is him. He is his own, his own legend. :)

  • @aLana3883 Yeah I agree i was thinking of a way to describe his personalty, he was very much his own person :)

  • Great film... but somins been buging me for years,, what is that song at the start?! does anyone know!!??

  • @fletchAlmighty steve fisk and ben gibbard - overture :)

  • very good interview (doc.)

  • Everyday I try my best to a little like his shadow

  • I saw this movie and it is worth watching. "I hardly ever feel depressed anymore" And he also went on saying he wouldn't give up on his family. I think this is proof of a homicide...

  • @BrandonCobain13 No, I think Kurt meant it at the time, but over a year passed between his interviews w/ Azerrad and his death, and there was a lot of turmoil in his personal life over that period of time. I think that, ultimately, Kurt ended his own life, but what this movie shows (and I think is intended to show) is that he wasn't a one-dimensional, ticking suicide bomb, either. He had a lot of different sides to him, as indeed most of us do :)

  • @BrandonCobain13 Not really. People are more likely to commit suicide when they're "getting better" than when they're in deep depression.

  • @thisshitiscalleddeaf

    i wonder why? ...

  • @BrandonCobain13 it makes you wonder, because he didn't have a father growing up. So why would he leave his daughter when he knew how bad it felt to not have a full family/:

  • @BrandonCobain13 he could also want people to think he's fine or he was fine and got worse. we want to think he didn't do it. what i think is that he was just sad, simply sad about everything and had enough.

  • there should never be a movie about him no matter how much you like him because then they got to find an actor to play him and you cant pay anybody to play kurt's greatness

  • Best documentalistic film about Cobain that i've ever seen

  • Don't the best of them bleed it out, while the rest of them peter out...

  • @TestMeatDollSteak There goes my hero...watch him as he goes :)

  • I was watching this today when i got home, weird thing is after i stood up i realised i had a Nirvana shirt on and didnt relize it

  • And I swear that I don't have a gun

  • I'm sorry kurt. sleep peacefully.

  • ûhm_ÀÑÿ_gÜÿs_wÀÑt_tò_chAt_with_mÊ

  • totally opposite of nirvana you thought of.. nirvana IS your life :) may you find peace Kurt..

  • for those thats going to buy, download, watch the movie, it has no original music by nirvana neither does it have any interviews, music by kurt, its a bit like the tupac ressurrection dvd, kurt narrating his life, althought it doesnt show kurt in the film its a must have for any nirvana fan. R.I.P Kurt Cobain

  • Does anybody know the song on 0:47 in this trailer ? Or the name of the Band?

  • My God this movie kicked so much fucking ass.

  • WHATS THE SONG AT THE VERY BEGINNING?

  • @Deadsilent1111 i'm not sure it is an actual song: /watch?v=ZM7tLLSDfPw

  • @Deadsilent1111 It's by Ben Gibbard and steve fisk from the fluid one of Kurt's fav bands and it's called all "Overture" all you need to do is search amazon and put in the title of the movie and soundtrack. But i dl's this music back when it was still in preview phase...loved it so i remixed the opening song for one of my video's for Francis Bean...check out my channel.

  • @Deadsilent1111 /watch?v=T5AG5Rl-ziQ&feature=related here songs called ovature

  • @Deadsilent1111 Check out the soundtrack its on CD available KURT COBAIN ABOUT A SON .

The song you are searching for is called overture special made for this documentary by steve Fisk and Benjamin gibbard

  • Wasnt there gonna be a real movie about him? Or something...

  • this trailer is sooo ironic, a movie about kurt cobain and in the background, "i dont think anyone deserves to know my personal life, its none of their buisness..."

so stupid. if he even said that, i would not make this video. basically just pointin the middle finger at his face, and saying WERE DOING IT ANYWAYS!!! whis is inconsiderate and pisses me off in certain little ways

  • @xXBlinDXx12 you re right.. BUT I BET YOU GONNA SEE IT ANYWAYS! :)

  • @grili8 psh, i dont really know, and your kinda being a jackass, with that kind of attitude. you would obviously agree how contradictory this video is. and i serously have no other infor on this movie other than tht i know about this trailer. and watching theis video is definatly not one of my priorities like for sume people.

  • Murdered by Love.

  • Best Documentary ever but lately documentaries have sucked aka that fucking gay ass bieber kid

  • Kurt Cobain was the single most beautiful individual to ever grace our planet.

  • @chronovan420 so pure and so sweet

  • Thumbs up if you can't get the song at 0:48 out of your head

  • This is a great film , I appreciated it alot more after staying in Kurt's home town with his family . The images In this film capture the beauty and hopelessness of certain parts of Washington .

  • Why the f*ck does every video have dislikes? There should only be a like button. -_-

  • whats the song that starts at 0:28?

  • there is no other movie like this,..

    the best they've ever recorded,...

because it's himself saying his words about his whole history!

  • @ducoification thats why 2012 is coming

  • Thanks for all Kurt! I miss you so much and a hope you were here whit us!

    Your the best! //Simme716

  • "when rock n roll is dead the whole world will exsplode"

  • @pennyroyalkurtgrl Thats stupid. oh yeah the world would be better if Kurt was alive. 9/11 would of never happened, Hati wouldn't be destroyed,All those people in Iraq wouldn't be blowing them selfs up. Come on people honestly hear yourself's!

  • @metalfreak4677

what's stupid and how? u basically reworded what i said.

  • @pennyroyalkurtgrl I was using sarcasm.

  • @MrDmoney9295 That was a stupid comment. John Lennon was shot and killed by a psycho named Mark Chapman who later said that John Lennon was one of his "heroes" and Chapman just wanted to be known for doing something.

    It wasn't the fuckin' FBI.

    Miss you x

  • 37 dislikes need to take it deep

  • "No matter what we do. How clean we live our lives. We're not going to survive this."

  • @KiribiKiribiMacaco what does he mean by that

  • @KiribiKiribiMacaco

"No one dies a virgin. Life fucks us all."

  • fuck that i think reccord company did it

micheal jackson,2pac,biggy,kurt cobain, elvis all died mysteriously? bullshit

  • @JeremyHoseyxxx don't forget john lennon but that was probably the FBI or something

  • i still think courtney did it

  • there's no one like good ol kurt

  • I love this song PLEASE can somebody tell me what its called

  • i watched it,it's so sad...It made me want to born before Kurt's death. Rest In Peace,Kurt Donald Cobain.

  • I've made a fictional film cover of the upcoming Kurt Cobain biopic. It serves as a casting suggestion. I chose Joe Anderson to play Kurt. Check out my channel to watch the video..

  • Just watched this movie. I cried. It was so good.

  • i think cobain would of hated all that popy indie music on here haha..he would of wanted this documentarty to be more artistcic and dark

  • i bought this movie it sucked balls it was cool to listen to but i thought it was a fuckin movie

  • @bubbagump0 You suck balls, and it is a movie.

  • melancólica

  • This movie is very touching.. So sad..

  • '....It's a story of a man who works as hard as he can, just to be a man who stands on his own... but the book always burns as the story takes its turn.. And leaves a broken man.. <3'

    That's what exactly happened.

  • What a beautiful, broken man.

  • @ first I thought 'he's right' no one knows anything about him, the real him or his personal life, like anyone should bcuz if he didn't want anyone to know then most of the interviews or all, are boggus. I wouldn't wanna reveal myself in an interview so why would Kurt have? But if Rolling Stones already reviewed it, well I feel that this film must be something, esp what they said

  • I love this movie

  • kurt cobain is my hero

  • Jesus Chris they don't say your an Herion junk and that you want to kill your baby.

At the end of the film

  • it's really a good movie but what 's the song at 0:27 and 1:47 please ?

  • it's really a good movie but what is the song at 1;46 and 0:27 please ?

  • @higgledipiggle are you deaf? I mean thats good and all but he just said no one has to know everything about.... O.o .. no offence but you are "dumb"

  • Yeah well all apologies is coming out next year and ewan mcgregor is gonna be kurt

  • Kurt was right when he said it's scary to think about where rock and roll will be in 20 years

  • @pkman947 it is. There is no rock and roll anymore.

  • @pkman947 the sad thing its right about know

  • este documental...me hizo caer lagriimaas...

siiempre q lo veo lo hace

    KURT COBAIN I LOVE YOU!

  • Is this a documentary or an acted out film?

  • @moviefreakjj It is a documentary that features audio interviews between Kurt Cobain and journalist Michael Azerrad which were used for the book "Come as You Are: The Story of Nirvana".

  • R.I.P, we all love and miss you.

  • wat movie when did it come out

  • iwant those 25 hours, someth has it besdes AZerrad pls ?

  • most amazing documentry full of laughs and joy but at the same time sad and depressing

  • Who can dislike this, how can somebady dislike this video, what's wrong with it your a*s holes???!!

  • This just made me appreciate Nirvana and Kurt Cobain that much more. Great movie all around for the true Nirvana fan out there. It just left me with such a feeling of sadness and loss. Kurt was a true pioneer of something big. His legacy lives on today and I wish he could have been here to see just how big it would get. R.I.P. Kurt - you will always be missed.

  • one of the most innovating and inspiring films i have ever seen, it was just amazing.

  • You have to be a true fan in order to appreciate this movie, cuz my friends who doesn't know Nirvana fell asleep while I was watching it. All and all its really a great and honest interview of Kurt about his life and his feelings to everything.

  • @Noctisffvs13 yeah. the first time i saw this i couldnt finish it but as i grew to love Nirvana more and more i couldnt stop watching it. the book Heavier Than Heavan is good too

  • rip kurt sea town legend along with jimmy hendrix

  • In a way, HE just gave up himself. Sad, but true.

  • who is the name of the song?

  • @WarHater It's fucking Queen you absolute moron, who are complete legends as far as rock comes to it - Kurt was inspired by them too. This trailer is actually quite evocative, but if you were mature, you'd understand.

  • @MikeDrumsIt you may have a point BUT kurt cobain brought grunge a style never heard of before nirvana so even if he was inspired by queen, mettallica , and some other artists he still MADE grunge a higher success in my opinion than selling billions and billions of albums

  • @MikeDrumsIt Is it really necessary to be a pretentious asshole about it?....

  • This video is incredible, I watch it all the time. R.I.P. Kurt, we miss you man

  • me thinks one of those crazy girls he went out with, (i think it was somin valentine) but she hired a hit man to make it look like a suicide because she hated him....... but i only heard that off a guy i know who went every where that kurt was born and died and places like that and is investigating how he died.

  • what's that song that starts at about 0:48 ?

  • @FreshBakedStudios

Steve Fisk & Benjamin Gibbard - Interlude 1 (Olympia)

  • Whether he shot himself or not, we still lost him. RIP Kurt

  • Why is it called about a son?

  • all of you fags who listen to justin bieber and lady gag and shit, you dont listen to what music is! this guy is the last good thing that happened to music!

  • @lirannine so true...... to bad he died......

  • i dont give a crap about what people say about him. you have to admit that this man is probably on of the most important things to happen for music ever since mozart!!!! this man started a revolution that is still alive till this day. i mean on the day that he died in seatle there were like millions of people from all over the world that came there for his funeral some from europe and asia and south america just to see this man take his final journey into imortal stardom.

  • I have to see this. Well, not have to but I think it would help me understand him more. RIP.

  • R.I.P. Kurt Cobain :-(

  • god help anyone who was born in aberdeen

  • did this come out before or after he died?

  • film came in 2006 and he died in 1994. he dieed after 1 year of interwiews

  • Does ANYONE know the name of the song playing from 0:47 to 1:02? It's not on the soundtrack.

  • i came on here to ask the exact question

  • @jhamsu its :steve fisk & benjamin gibbard - interlude 1 (olympia)

but its only 1 minute long.

  • @kspocover ah thanks so much!

  • And the soundtrack? It's amazing!

  • This is coming on IFC monday night at 10:30!!!!!!!!!

  • yes!

    saw it so good :D

  • is this genre: Ducumentary and music?

  • where can you watch this online for free? youtube fucking blocks out certain audio which fucks up the whole movie
