i cant wait to buy my flat top 120 and take my courses!!! im so stoked!!! Just take to long to save an extra 6 Grand haha..! cant wait tho!! stoked! WOOO buddy!! Safe and fun good flying DONE THE RIGHT WAY!!!
Hey Dell? if your looking to adopt a son let me know! Im 38 yrs old but ill still call you dad. Hey DAD can I borrow the flat top??? That demo was AWSOME!!!! ! $10 a day going without lunch I should be ready for one in a couple years....
This is very encouraging to watch. Would love to get into the sport but watching videos of random frontal collapses and the news of recent deaths at World Championships by experience pilots got me spooked.
@lmankj Actually zero people have ever died on WPPGA certified equipment as of 10/5/2011. Those that die are doing so on totally uncertified gear and for very specific reasons. Just get with the experts and U-Turn USA and they can help you get the right gear the first time. It is an awesome sport with an incredible safety record if you do it the right way. Lots of idiots out there though which is why it gives the sport a bad name.
do you think when you sink the brake and it doesnt satll is due to the fact that you wrer solid on the ground as can be seen from your legs vibration?
@magnesium111 A little at first. It's such a rush up there, that most of the time you would never even notice! After flying for a while, you get so used to it!
I am really interested, I have to get training ofcourse but on the end I want to ask you a question: can I cruise fly safely at low 1-3 meters height at low speeds?
@leviterande Yes, that is the funnest thing about this sport if you get the right equipment and training. Give me a call sometime and I'll be happy to give you all the details on how to do it the right way. Soooo dang fun man!!!
Hey Dell, I know that you rate the K2 with your FT. I fly a Pap Top80 with active hangbars. any idea how a K2 would behave with this system? Many people in the North of the UK are packing the Nucleon and i've seen your review on that, i tried it myself and it didn't want to fly.
@timmitreehut The K2 works awesome with the certified height hang points. That's what all gliders are designed for so no worries on that setup. Yes the K2 is a world beyond the Nucleon. It is less than half the weight with way better efficency, a ton more safety and much nicer and lighter handling. It is also so easy to launch it just makes it a completely different sport. Certainly give one a try if you get a chance.
anyhow, I would like to say that am welling for getting my new gears now .. and Still up to my plans, but, need ur opinion as my weight is about 105 Kgs and am thinking to buy a tandum wich can handle another total wieght of me+ passenger + gear laod= 105+ 95 + 26 Kgs.
So, what be suitable & steady Gears as am thinking about power over = 125 thrust .
So it can be very fast as alone or very active dynamic as Tandum.
Thanks for responding to my emaila for the last couple of days man, I am really considering getting one of these wings, thank you for your help. Pete.
@blazeyadeadhomiesyes Been flying for about 10 years. Speedwings fly don't work very well but I fly custom high performance wings down to 10 sm. Fun stuff!!
I'm ready... bring it with you to beach blast. If I don't have one before then I will pick it up there. Do you have an email newsletter so I'll know when it's ready?
I would recommend just giving me a call and ordering it so I can get your name on one fine sir. I will be limited on space and time for what all I bring to Beach Blast. Call me at 800-707-2525 anytime.
I would really like to explore the option of adding this new harness to my 09 flat top. I like the one point for flying over the water but I would really like to add the advantage of weight shift to this extreme. Man who needs hands!
I have the weight shift kit in production now so you can just order it for your Flat Top. Takes only seconds to change to the new setup. It works awesome!!!
Very observant. You are correct, what you see in this video is just a prototype of the new weight shift kit and is just using an old style harness I had laying around. All 2010 Flat Tops come with the quick release as standard. This was just for testing in this video.
I fly in temps down in the teens no problem at all. Gotta have heated gloves though. I have a spare Flat Top battery in my pocket the runs the gloves and they work awesome. Then you need a snowmobile helmet to keep your head warm along with motorcross shin & knee guards to keep the front of your legs warm. Then you are all set no problem at all. Sooooo fun in the winter!! This is shot with the GoProHD.
@5hundie Yes but not as a first glider. I fly the XL tandem no problem so the weight isn't an issue but it will be a bit more dynamic than it should be for a brand new pilot. So for a first wing I would get an XL Emotion most likely. Give me a call anytime and we can talk about it. Dell 800-707-2525

@imasuper0308 Which size of the K2 would you recomend for someone who's all up weight is around 240 pounds? Would the 25 be too small?

That flat-top does not appear to have the one point quick release harness. Do you have another harness option available?
