what makes this more appropriate is that if you wait for a tonberry to go into it's ultimate grudge (where he's immune to most things and resistant to the rest), it does more damage to you than any other monster! (it's stats are 14,000+ str and 22,000+ mag! i got the strategy guide as proof!)

I completely forgot about the Paradox concept in the game. I was just about to tell you Cie'th can't revive themselves, and then realized the only Cie'th in 13-2 are Cie'th from the past, since Fal'Cie are dormant now, thus L'Cie don't exist in the present.

So that Undying, named Zenobia, must have come from the time of Barthandelus.

You don't fight that Undying in XIII right?

@ZhadoxFlamez Zenobia is the one in this cutscene, the Tonberry stabs her and you fight it instead but the mission is stil named after the Cie'th.

There are Fal'Cie around however, one of the characters in the new game is a l'Cie of an undiscernable Fal'Cie, the brand is not the same as Anima's. I'm not going to spoil the name but it's someone who's returning, not a new character. At least, it LOOKS like a l'Cie brand, I can't confirm until I actually play the game.

And yes, it is probably one of the most badass boss fights in the entire game because of the location, the raining situation, and the Devil May Cry-style music playing (because this thing looks like a DMC monster, lol) and the awesome finishing cutscene.
