  • I'm a Yank, I don't know what the deal is in the UK, or if it's changed since this episode aired. But here in the USA, too many senior citizens haven't saved anything for their retirement. No savings, no life insurance, nothing! If they've saved for their retirement, they face incredible boredom in retirement, because they didn't do anything with their spare time before.

Watch "About Schmidt" if you want an illustration.

  • @MondoBeno In the UK, our generation is accused of treating them really, really badly, and there is quite a lot of tension between the age divide and especcially in the NHS...

  • Maybe the coalition should watch this before raising the pension age ha.

  • that album in mint condition is worth about $950 now..and I've got one.only copied when I'm 64 off it. got the album when i was 21 now im 64 :(

  • some old people are really nic.e i work with loads and they are very friendly always up for a nice chat or a laugh, my taxes are worth it if it goes to the elderly, some young urns i dont mind just cause some are yobs, the rest arnt, but i dont want to give my taxes to those who can work but refuse to work cause it means getting up in the morning (and this does not go out to those who want to work just the lazy percentage).

  • So this country has got it in for the elderly and the young. So being middle aged is alright then

  • @UTubePooperNo1 Yes, "when i'm 64" of "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band"

  • Sg.Peppers album...1968

  • @ozzydozzy1 No 1967 68 was when the white ablum came out.

  • Well I'm 75 now - and I'm going to last a depressingly long time. All at the taxpayers expenses of course.

You don't expect ME to pay anything do you? I didn't fight in 2 world wars, but I still expect the next generation to pay all my bills until I'm 105. Don't worry, that only another 40 years. YOU wont have a pension of course, but at least you'll have paid foe ME.

  • @Kidsgrove49 Ouch, sir. Ouch.

  • @Kidsgrove49 As a taxpayer, I don't actually mind. I'd rather people were happy than dead in front of me.

  • @banjokitten Yeah the smell would be horrible if they were dead in front of you.

  • @Professor6871 - It probably wouldn't make that much of a difference. Visit a post office queue on pension day if you are brave enough. Stinks of piss, something rotten.

  • @banjokitten yeah the smell would be awful.

  • @Kidsgrove49

Well let's just hope you don't make it to an old age yourself. No really! I mean it - let's hope you don't make it.

  • @brazilianwonderboy What warm human being you really are. I can feel the love coming over.

  • @Kidsgrove49 Have you heard they going to legalise euthanasia at some time. All this terminal illness and it is a smoke screen for the generists to get their way.

  • Superb!!! An old favorite of mine uploaded again! Thank yoU SO MUCH...

  • Sadly very true as well, this country has it in for young people and the elderly.

  • I like the way old puppets made little cameos. Like in this song, Kirk Douglas as that man's boss handing him his retirement clock.

  • Wow Prince Philip wrote an episode.

I think Mr Glover will know what I mean.

  • That's a brilliant song. A real tear-jerker, especially the bit at the end with the flower. One of Spitting Image's 'darker' songs.
