im interested in wat exactly people find wrong about quillium
I feel an obligation to inform the people in this vid that Quilliam are a farce, the people involved are liars, fraudsters, and it is doubted by most whether they are even to be considered muslim. they have deviated way beyond what anybody would consider to be islam, literally anybody who picks up the qur'aan and reads it would be confused as to why these people are muslim role-models. (i knwo it depends on interpretation but there are some things which to 99.9% of people that are just obvious).
If you knew the people and looked into what they say to their audiences, and also what they claim in comparison to the truth, you would find that they purposefully twist and at times even invent.
Besides, regardless of their genuineness (yeah it's a word :P), what they stand for is not at all representative of the (large) majority of muslims, yet they claim to be. There are things in Islam which are above differing opinions of less massive issues, >>>
>>> which there is concensus on with all reliable/authentic scholars, yet which Qulliam are telling the public are debateable and actually not the way "islamists" portray them (which in most cases actually happens to be the way general muslims see them). They're sucking up to the government and giving the powers of the West exactly what they want - their own brand of "muslims" who try their hardest to be more British than the Queen and who acknowledge only the pesonal faith side of Islam, >>>
>>> preferably only the mystical aspects. Of course you need this but you can't truly have it unless you accept all of Islam. It just gives them more of an excuse to frown upon the independent thinkers and the muslims who are committed enough to stand out.
Sorry about the essay! I'm very tired so probably waffling
The quilliam foundation is a foundation that bends over for the british goverment and does everything the british goverment wants to hear hence why they got the £1.5 million.
Brother musa is also right in say that the quilliam lot wish to give a new islam &how that is agains the quran and sunnah and haram as the deen is complete. But musa also has to notice that it is Allah swt who informs us whos a extremist not the british goverment as they have a different platform from the islamic platform
Quilliam Foundation are the real extremists. How much more extreme could you be than saying that some of this religion is not necessary in the 21st century. In effect you are saying that Allah subhana wa talla was wrong in certain issues.
The reality is that this religion of Islam is perfect and as Muslims we should seek to implement it in its entirety.
peace an blessings 2 u all why aint u speaking out about all the lies we see in court an all the major tings why is every 1 so quiet i aint gana keep my mouth shut walahi
Excellent discussion lads. Really appreciate the sober, sensible and objective manner with which you approached this topic.
Couldn't agree with you more about attempting to tackle radicalsiation of this form from the "grass roots". Media exposure can help but ultimately Quilliam should focus the bulk of their attention with those who are most prone to this form of indoctrination, and they're not found in the corridors of Whitehall or Fleet Street.
The Quilliam foundation is not about preventing extremism. If only that were the case. All right minded muslims are against terrorist attacks be it state sponsored or those perpetrated by individuals. It doesn require a 'think tank' of former islamists in bad suits and fake accents to act as mouthpiece for the muslim community on this matter. Quilliam is about silencing the dissenting muslim voice. These people are attemptint to scupper attempts by muslims to empower themselves in their lands
quilliam foundation? why is it worth these 10 minutes? these traitors represent no one and the only reason they're given so much air time is because the the UK government wants to push their idea - not because they have any foothold in the Muslim community. wait another year or so and they will be somewhere under the rug.
as for how to combat islamic extremism today, stop the provocations. but certainly i know you cant, since war and exploitation is ingrained in capitalism.
So how do we stop capitalism and stop extremism. I know Ed Hussain has grip with "islamism" I just mean Muslims in general. I can see that you may have problems with Quilliam, at the same time I can see there is a need for a positive unity amongst Muslims in the UK for their own saftey and for ours at the moment. I for one wish I had a more robust way to combat the extremes of capitalism that have left so many Iraqis shocked and awed to death.
May I recommend the booklet "Islamic Reformation: The Battle for Hearts & Minds" for a quick read. Just search for it on google as quoted and you should find it in the first link. It gives reference to the RAND reports advising the British government to support the likes of Ed, Hamza Yusuf, Tariq Ramadan, and others who want to "modernise" Islam. They say "modernise" in reality they mean "westernise".
For what is defined as "modern" is based solely on the more dominant culture at the present time. I do not believe you can do anything from within to combat Capitalist aggression since it's a system that has been accepted by Western population under the pretext and false wrappings of "Democracy". What we need is a balance of power in the world. A shield for the Muslims to be behind to protect our selves and our lands.
This can only be done by establishing a state in the Muslim world strong enough to stop Western rampage. This is more possible than removing Capitalism in the West since we're already ruled by tyrants and oppressors who betray us everyday and whom our own people are fed up with. The growing Islamic awareness, call for political Islam and the re-establishment of the caliphate, the only institution that could protect the people of the region is a clear sign of which direction things are heading.

QF is an inconsequential and despotic "think tank" promoting and spreading it's own brand of islamophobia and bankrupt and pro-injustice ideologies.

Do you want Islamists in Britain to unite? How would you "combat extremism" for want of better terminology?

Define "islamists".
