That is Simon Bates who was one of the top DJs on Radio 1 at the time. He had the anchor spot on the mid morning show and used to bring the country to tears every morning with his slushy "Our Tune" spot - ah the late 70s and early 80s, what a time to have grown up....

i dunno - VC pioneered alot of what synth became in its era. post-vince DM was awesome up until 'violator' - i think they started losing it after that. vince and erasure have put out great and mediocre stuff, but they continue to release masterpieces up to now. great video, though

he didn't pioneer anything. human league and other groups were already using the same synth technology well before him and at the same exact time.

vince was loose baggage that needed to go and dm were far superior to erasure. i'm not a big fan of 90's+ era of dm but there new thing is okay and remixes are decent. can't stand erasure's wimpy singer.
