I think that quality is excellent. Even of the framerate is low, the resolution still makes the videos far more detailed and crisp then your previous videos. I rather enjoy the video content then just pay attention to video quality all the time. I think the webcam was totally worth it, as you should continue working with it. :D I also love the new intro if the M.C. I heard all your audio blogs and people shouldn't complain too damn much.
I will say I am kinda not digging the echo from your movements(I don't know if thats framerate or not. I'm not completely savvy in all fields of visual) but oh well. Its your channel, and the quality of your reviews don't change. I still enjoy your videos and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I'm sure with time everyone will be right at home with Upgraded ZyZ. I don't care much about quality but....terrible choice of camera, you chose a webcam? lmao, you could of got a hd handheld pocket camera for a lot less, and the quality would have been similar and definitely a better frame rate, you probably think "1080p" cameras are better than 720p camera, but that's just the resolution, some 720p cameras are way better than 1080p cameras.
Picture quality has never been the "make or break" factor for me, it's the "Zaranyzerak presentation" for lack of a better term which keeps me coming back to the videos and looking forward to future installments. The way the content is delivered makes for an interesting and entertaining experience.

Damn this image this looks great to me. I love hi-def. Can't believe your webcam was that cheap. I have a Sony VX2000 that is now almost 12 years old and was worth nearly 5 grand when I bought it new. Now it's pretty worthless with no hi def. I still use it though. It works well, but if I was going to do a bigger project now I'd probably rent an HD cam. The technology moves so quickly. Much quicker than I can make a crappy movie. Haha. These videos are terrific. Thanks for the info.
Damn, your collection shimmers in the background like a chest filled with beautiful gems in HD. The frame rate doesn't bother me at all, but the lack of mobility kinda does. Does this mean you won't be able to show us your collection up close on the the shelves, not to mention your book and graphic novel shelves.
@KiddoBeastPro With the extension, I can go pretty much all over the living room, so shouldn't be a problem showing the DVDs and Blu-ray shelves up close. The Library, on the other hand....yeah, that might be a problem.

Man! I like my animation and films, but from this video you really do have an unhealthy collection of DVDs. I think it might be a good idea to go out and take time to smell the roses, because nobody should really have this amount of visual entertainment, unless they work for a DVD shopping retailer.

Isn't this like the 1,355,692nd time you've upgraded something? Blu-Rays, 720p, Your House, Uploading Schedule, and now this. It's nothing bad but it's also nothing new.

Actually you might be right with the 1080p at 1/2 framerate for now, the 720p doesn't look that great from what I've seen on other peoples videos, it's smoother but way too soft.

I was reading you can do 720p/30fps if you uninstall the logitech drivers and use the windows default drivers for the webcam using mjpeg mode. Maybe that would be a good compromise? 720p is still really good.
@VictoryOnTheHill I did. It sounds all warbly and crappy when I use it with the webcam. The audio and video drivers don't play nice together. Trust me, I did a TON of test videos before doing this. This is the best possible result for audio and video. I even uninstalled the Logitech audio driver because of the same warbly sound issue and went with a generic USB Audio driver instead, which is much better.
@VictoryOnTheHill I WILL, however, be using the new mic to get back into audio blogging though. So you'll have plenty of opportunity to hear it in action... ;)

But really, the quality looks great, and while I noticed the frame-rate difference at first, I got used to it quickly, and it doesn't hinder the content in any way. Really glad you go to upgrade, Sean!
@NeoGameSpark Absolutely, yes. That's one of the things I wanted it for. It's a great low-cost solution and the sound quality is very rich and clean. Definitely make sure you get a pop filter (mine is a double-screen pop filter, works great) and you should be all set! The mic can also be mounted on a boom stand, and they have a Yeti-specific shock mount coming out shortly as well. For the price it's a really great mic!
I personally did not care about what the picture quality was or is now. I have been watching for several years now because of the wealth of information Zaranyzerak has provided me. My DVD/Blu-Ray collection would probably not exist today if it was not for Zaranyzerak. Also my interest in knowing as much as I can about technology would not exist if not for Zaranyzerak. I will watch his videos regardless of the quality it is the content that has mattered to me.
@shepherdschapelDOTco I'm not seeing this audio sync issue...I've checked over and over on both my master files and the YouTube version here, and it's perfectly in sync... I know on slower computers it can "drift" on YouTube thanks to their crappy encoding. Just give the little progress circle thingy that moves along the red bar a tick and it should lock back in sync. I used to have that problem when watching YouTube HD videos, and that always fixed it.
To everyone commenting about it - yes, the 720p mode will do 30fps, under the right conditions. It looks like crap compared to the 1080p mode. Complete lack of detail, and still kinda blurry motion regardless. The only reason it's an issue with this video is because I moved the camera around a lot to show you stuff. I rarely do this normally. When it's unmoving, it's fine. This is what I am using until I can afford a new camcorder. There's really no point bitching about it, people.
Plenty of others have said this but I will too, if the 720p mode offers a better frame rate use that. This 15 fps looks really unprofessional and one of the reasons I liked your videos was the quality and professionalism that went into them.
I've been watching your videos for a long time, I'm a huge fan, so I don't mean to be a prick by saying this... but take that camera back. I would much rather watch standard definition than this.
I believe this is a vast improvement as well. I went ahead and saw this at 1080p as well so I can see the difference. The only problem I can see really from this episode is the lighting (where the light hits is incredibly bright), and near the end of the video the sound was about .5 seconds off. That could have been my end though.
Congrats on gaining your new NTSC hi def camera. I'm sure after a few viewings, I'll get used to the ghostily effects, it would be just like one of The Real Ghostbusters episodes in syndication. :D In all seriousness though congragulations and yes I'm still working to get you your goodies, it's all coming together quite nicely. :)

@blaizevincent I'm experimenting with some frame interpolation/motion compensation techniques to see if I can smooth out the motion a bit. For this one, I did it in Vegas. Apparently After Effects has a better method to do this, so I'm going to give that a try today. It's similar to when you bump up the refresh rate on a HDTV and it inserts virtual frames between the actual frames to smooth the motion. I HATE it for movies (film shouldn't look like video, dammit!) but for this we'll see.
Dude so jealous! This is the cam I want remember? I asked you on facebook months ago on your Sean profile if ya knew anything about it? hehe With CP going back to webcam recording will be so helpful. Anyway an fyi for ya in case ya didn't know; I have the last Logitech webcam the pro 9000. Logitech cams feature have a features called rightlight & rightsound. If you disable then the fps will improve! Not sure by how much with the C91o but you should get some :) Also you can bypass motion blur
@RazMansReality I know, I disabled all the extra features and went on full manual control. It's a hardware limitation, this camera will only do 15fps in 1080p mode no matter what.
If 720p offers better frame rate... I suggest to use that. You move around a lot more than you think and seiously... at the time of writing, not many people actually use 1080p for YT viewing.
I have youtube button set 480p (rather than the lower 240p). I still can't read the video box titles behind you like you mention (even on full screen).
What am I doing wrong and/or what do I have to change?

Isn't this like the 1,355,692nd time you've upgraded something? Blu-Rays, 720p, Your House, Uploading Schedule, and now this. It's nothing bad but it's also nothing new.
I will say, 1080p does look so fucking sweet. It does look like 15 frames per second, but that won't interrupt my enjoyment.

Actually you might be right with the 1080p at 1/2 framerate for now, the 720p doesn't look that great from what I've seen on other peoples videos, it's smoother but way too soft.

I was reading you can do 720p/30fps if you uninstall the logitech drivers and use the windows default drivers for the webcam using mjpeg mode. Maybe that would be a good compromise? 720p is still really good.

@VictoryOnTheHill I did. It sounds all warbly and crappy when I use it with the webcam. The audio and video drivers don't play nice together. Trust me, I did a TON of test videos before doing this. This is the best possible result for audio and video. I even uninstalled the Logitech audio driver because of the same warbly sound issue and went with a generic USB Audio driver instead, which is much better.

@NeoGameSpark Absolutely, yes. That's one of the things I wanted it for. It's a great low-cost solution and the sound quality is very rich and clean. Definitely make sure you get a pop filter (mine is a double-screen pop filter, works great) and you should be all set! The mic can also be mounted on a boom stand, and they have a Yeti-specific shock mount coming out shortly as well. For the price it's a really great mic!

I personally did not care about what the picture quality was or is now. I have been watching for several years now because of the wealth of information Zaranyzerak has provided me. My DVD/Blu-Ray collection would probably not exist today if it was not for Zaranyzerak. Also my interest in knowing as much as I can about technology would not exist if not for Zaranyzerak. I will watch his videos regardless of the quality it is the content that has mattered to me.

@shepherdschapelDOTco I'm not seeing this audio sync issue...I've checked over and over on both my master files and the YouTube version here, and it's perfectly in sync... I know on slower computers it can "drift" on YouTube thanks to their crappy encoding. Just give the little progress circle thingy that moves along the red bar a tick and it should lock back in sync. I used to have that problem when watching YouTube HD videos, and that always fixed it.

To everyone commenting about it - yes, the 720p mode will do 30fps, under the right conditions. It looks like crap compared to the 1080p mode. Complete lack of detail, and still kinda blurry motion regardless. The only reason it's an issue with this video is because I moved the camera around a lot to show you stuff. I rarely do this normally. When it's unmoving, it's fine. This is what I am using until I can afford a new camcorder. There's really no point bitching about it, people.

Plenty of others have said this but I will too, if the 720p mode offers a better frame rate use that. This 15 fps looks really unprofessional and one of the reasons I liked your videos was the quality and professionalism that went into them.

I believe this is a vast improvement as well. I went ahead and saw this at 1080p as well so I can see the difference. The only problem I can see really from this episode is the lighting (where the light hits is incredibly bright), and near the end of the video the sound was about .5 seconds off. That could have been my end though.

@salapaandrei its only recorded 15 frames a second. If ya sped it up it wouldn't make any difference. The other 9 frames don't exist.
Then again i don't own the camera and no nothing much about it and im not much of a tech head either so....

@blaizevincent I'm experimenting with some frame interpolation/motion compensation techniques to see if I can smooth out the motion a bit. For this one, I did it in Vegas. Apparently After Effects has a better method to do this, so I'm going to give that a try today. It's similar to when you bump up the refresh rate on a HDTV and it inserts virtual frames between the actual frames to smooth the motion. I HATE it for movies (film shouldn't look like video, dammit!) but for this we'll see.

Dude so jealous! This is the cam I want remember? I asked you on facebook months ago on your Sean profile if ya knew anything about it? hehe With CP going back to webcam recording will be so helpful. Anyway an fyi for ya in case ya didn't know; I have the last Logitech webcam the pro 9000. Logitech cams feature have a features called rightlight & rightsound. If you disable then the fps will improve! Not sure by how much with the C91o but you should get some :) Also you can bypass motion blur

@RazMansReality I know, I disabled all the extra features and went on full manual control. It's a hardware limitation, this camera will only do 15fps in 1080p mode no matter what.

If 720p offers better frame rate... I suggest to use that. You move around a lot more than you think and seiously... at the time of writing, not many people actually use 1080p for YT viewing.
