Landcruisers actually started as a Jeep commisioned by the US government for toyota to build, ie: toyota built jeeps for US gov in 1950. Jeep wasn't an actual company till later though, Jeep was just a vehicle designed and built for the US military by different companies until 1960 when Jeep became a company so in that respect toyota landcruiser came before the actual jeep brand but copied the jeep design
Yeah kids, I don't care how good the driver is don't stand DOWN HILL of a wheeling rig unless I'm the benificiary of your life insurance policy or you will me all your belongings first. Then by all means be stupid. Otherwise always stay UPHILL of the rig, ESPECIALLY if a driver can't tell from the feel of his truck what wheels he's balanced on! And if you ever NEED to get in front of the rig attach a safty line (winch line) to the back of the rig an extra 10 minutes might save your life!
@jamesjdm wrong ... FAIL ... the mercedes Unimog is the best offroad truck ever made then the hummer H1 then the jeep ... toyotas ... look like jeeps they are copycats
@CrackinVTEC666 wrong. its a matter of opinion. jeeps and old fjs are about the same but as far as reliability goes...well we all no toyota wins there.
At 1:22, why does he take such a high line with his drivers front? Seems like he made it more challenging than it needed to be, although I wasn't there and also don't know the obstacle.
I think he was taking a high line with it because he was going to slip either way, why not slip from higher and gain traction mid way than go lower and gain traction at the bottom. maybe?
haha laugh it up yota guys the J in your beloved machines usta stand for jeep till they had to change it due to copyright BS and ive been told this buy many yota guys...mind you id take one of these in a heart beat i love em i prefer the BJ40s more though
Umm, no it doesn't, whomever told you that is just another moron. The "J" is the code designation given to all Land Cruisers, other Toyota makes have different letter designations. The "F" is for gas, and "B" is for Diesel.
@1989XJ The first Toyota WASN'T designed on a Jeep chassis. They got a Bantam Jeep famous for being an epic piece of garbage and they needed something similar. Enter the Model AK which was so far SUPERIOR to the Jeeps that the US was going to commission Japan to build their 4x4s and just slap the American body on it. Since then Jeep has copied all the Land Cruiser designs but produce far inferior vehicles. Wrangler copied the FJ40, Cherokee copied the FJ60, etc. ajajajaj
I remember the wedgie being different than this. Nice Cruiser!
