If there was a cure, it would be more containable. And I wouldn't be in any situation with zombies in real life. And it's easy to kill the undead. You shoot, cut, or blast its head off. Virus zombies are more dangerous because they're stronger, faster, and smarter.

@TEDDYZMAIN Striker, once you've shot 12 shots, it's the slowest reload in shotgun history. You'd probably want something like a saiga, and carry some fast mags. And then like a tommy gun with the drum mag. Nothing says stopping power like a .45

@NonDairyYogurt Nothing says dead like wasting ammo by spraying and praying with an incredibly inaccurate gun that has a fairly uncommon caliber and would be insanely hard to maintain...

Try any gun that has a 7.62 or 5.56 NATO round. They're incredibly easy to find (standard military issue for all UN forces) and the guns that fire them are easier to maintain (newer guns = easier to find replacement parts). Or a .30-06 (most common hunting rifle round in the US).

If you're in a zombie situation, and you're not on a military base (where you'll find 5.56's laying around by the thousands) you need a low recoil, high power round to quickly dispose of zombies. Not a high penetration , big round that you find in packs of 20. For every 20 .223's laying around, you'll find 50 .45's laying around. (also, the 30-30 is the most common hunting round)

She just wouldnt listen. In the long run though if he had of died then the infection wouldn't have started again. One small event starts the madness that goes on later in the movie.
